I just recently printed an entire Deff Dread army for Orks. 9 Deff Dreads, 6 Killa Kans, 1 Mega Dread, 2 Dakka Jets and a Beastboss on a Squig. Likely my most favorite army, looks amazing, and noone even bats an eye or asks if they are printed, cause its Orks and its so perfectly fitting.

Where’s you find these? Everywhere I look there’s generic orks without any data on what they are or what unit they are

Honestly my only intention for printing for 40k would be extras pieces for adding on, cause i feel like the money that i would be spending on getting the offical models would be through local game stores, but i can see the pros and cons of this whole side of the hobby, especially when it comes to making unique minis and additions, so maybe after i get into 40k proper with my first army ill give this a look at
It will start off with bits and pieces but being able to print whole armies is just too tempting brother lol
i started getting a good amount of guys into 3D printing at my shop to the point that they started carrying resin there now at a not too horrible mark up. Its worth the price if you need it that day.

Imperial Guard come to the top for me because 3d printing is literally the only way to do some of the options that GW doesn't make (and to be fair I mix official bits, 3rd party plastics and resins, and 3d printed bits for my various things.)

thats how i was able to do Elysians again. They were my first army and i sold them. Found great STL files for them and printed an army of them again.

When I had my 3d printer I printed out 20 chaos Legionaries and I loved every second of it. Got my hands on a stl pack for termies

The best one to Print would either be the most expensive ones or the one that consists out of the most OOP models. Or maybe the ones that are consistently out of order.
That just won't happen with a Printer.

The other great thing with 3d printing, you can also mod the stl's so you can have truly unique models

The thing about orks is that their motivation in-universe exactly matches my real world motivation to play wargames. Orks don't really care about winning or losing, they want to have fun getting into a good hard scrap. The fight itself is the thing. As a non-competitive wargamer, I just want to play a game and have fun. I want to charge my Light Brigade at the Russian guns to see how far they get. I want to WAAAAAAAAAAAAGH! It won't matter to me if my Orks aren't going to be the winning-est army. I get to talk funny and make loud dakka-dakka noises and slap together bitz and gubbins into Orky terrain and vehicles. And that will make me a happy wargamer.
But hey, if playing Tau or Eldar or shiny Space Janitors make you feel that same way, then have at it!
And yeah, I wholeheartedly concur with the final point in this video. One of the big wins in 3d printing is that it does open up the possibility to try so many different armies at a reasonable cost. A bottle of resin holds so many infinite possibilities to choose from.

Just went and dusted off my Mars 2 Pro and I've been printing out a batch of Wraithguard units, planning on making an Iyanden army for my first army

I was thinking Imperial Guard or Orks as there is a lot of choice and they are by far the most customisable armies out there.
And a lot of it for free

I plan on printing the Imperial Fists for the Horus Heresy! I have been collecting STLs in preparation of purchasing a Egeloo Saturn 2 in 8K resolution. 😅 My favorite STL I have found has been a near exact replica of the Rogal Dorn Forgeworld model!...
I know the exact one your talking about.. It will look epic on the saturn 2! One of my patreons has it and the pictures he sent in the discord are making me want one now lol
Where do you find your stls? I’m having no luck, do you use different search terms than just the factions name?
Craftworld eldar & dark eldar have SOO many amazing sculpts in stl's! Also a box of 5-6 space elves from GW costs more than a bottle of resin! 3d printing has saved my $1000's at this point.. for better looking minis lol
I have a good few gb of files for eldar and dark eldar your right so much better sculpts available
Space Marines seem to me like the best army to print because there are so many options from full minis to just bits to make your own marines. On a side note I think there need to be more 40k scale Titan files (multi-part) mainly cause I wanna build my “Sonic Titan” for my Noise Marine Army.
There are very few titan makers at the moment which is a shame
That is a shame. I found a pretty good warlord while surfing the inter webs and some bits to make it into my aforementioned “Sonic Titan” but I can already tell it’s gonna be a slog. Worth it. But a slog none the less.

It is not but because of the nature of our situation I don’t wanna reveal who it is. You never know who’s reading these and I want to keep these artists as safe as possible.
With certain mini ranges, the process of cleaning stuff off and in some cases having to do supports can honestly be such a pain in the rear that I'd rather just grab things secondhand for cheap. Other times, especialy when anything FW is involved, though, then printing for sure is the only right call.
my favourites so far have been chaos daemons and leagues of votann , plus loads of space marine stuff like grey knights/gravis style stuff .. orks are just everywhere as well
Chaos Daemons will always be high on my lists of favourite armies they are just so cool
@@battlebrothersam Yeah I am loving my nurgle demon list in 1k and 2k .. its not super damage output as I run mono faction but I am having fun with it just wish nurgle had a few more units in the range for demons ..
Starting to print an admech army, I have so far printed one kastelan-parallel from station forge... Now just a bunch of skitari, some kataphrons, an onager, and maybe some knights to go 😅
I'm surprised Orks did make it on the list considering games workshop was unable to copyright them in court. So there are an absolute insane amount of orks STL files available.
I've been printing a Death Guard army, but I don't have an SLA printer, so I've been using my Prusa Mini, and I have to say, I am surprised by the detail. Granted, it's nowhere near the resin prints, but using .7 or smaller detail settings produced, mostly clean, barely visible print lines, albeit, small details are lost or muddy. I will say, I am def wanting an SLA printer now, and have been looking at a Saturn 2, and considering it costs as much as a combat patrol, I'd say its a good investment. I'm going to finish my FDM printed army, then make a master army with SLA, or maybe combine them for an epic army, but I will have to see how the FDM prints come out after painting. I will say, finding most of the files or proxies for Death Guard was not too hard, and have enough nurgly bits to kitbash most other models into the loving embrace of daddy Nurgle.
I'd love to be able to actually find most of these models.

I would like to get into 40k but i have no idea of how all this works. can i simply take the EmanG models (i am already subscribed to his patreon) and print an army and play? Don't they need like balancing and stat sheets and abilities?
I have looked and am new to this, but how do you search up the different factions, i look up space marines ou tau and rarely get any hits
even though space marines are the poster boys, they are still my favorite
1:29 : I would say the Astra Militarum (former Imperial Guard) because GW is dicking over this faction (along with the Eldars) ; although they are probably the one with the most (fluff) diversity.
I recently started playing 40K. I purchased 2 world eaters combat patrols, 1 demon prince and 1 Chaos terminator unit. Do you know any free or paid service to get files to complete my army. I recently got a resin printer and I would love to try it out. Also, if you have any other recommendations for other armies that are fun to play I would love to start printing those as well.

I like star wars a lot, so I liked har SW Legion, so I bought a Cis army starter, I printed almost the whole republic, about half
I remember when I bought my Elegoo Mars 2 Pro... it was because I allways wanted a Warhound Titan and I saw it was much more cheaper to buy a 3D printer, a resin cure & wash machine and few liters of resin than buy the Forgeworld model. Adding to this I was worried about the quality of FW due the last miniatures I had from them were not perfect and I allways though that if we pay for something as it is made of gold, should have the best of the qualities but it's not the case in FW.
From there I just printed a few 2k points armires just like you and I even painted some of them, just for the fun. I'm not against GW or FW, I even still buy from them things like paints, brushed and sometimes even a miniature I like, but last years I'm not very happy with the company and their predatory ways,.
20 years ago, when I started in this hobby, this company was not like this. Nowadays, I think they kinda forced to people to follow 3D print ways, just like me.
It's definitely not like it used to be brother I remember feeling like I was a part of something not just another customer, FW with the pricing and their terrible quality is a shambles.

@@battlebrothersam hehe since 1995 i was always mor of an fantasy/historical kind of gamer :) You should mention printing minis for historical wargames. Bolt action, SAGA, just to name a few. Got a lot of that :)

I exclusively tell people to stop following the meta, if they want an army they'll be happy with(unless winning is all that matters, then by all means follow meta) but if you want to enjoy your army, find an army with an aesthetic you enjoy, lore, conversion, THAT is how you find happiness, I love my Orks and Guard and Squats more than anything, Orks are hard to play, but so much fun.
I also made my own homebrew edition, 3 years in the works! My edition is called Warhammer 40,000; 41st Millennium Edition if anyone wants to check it out.
I'm thinking between printing a Custodes army or go for Death Corp of Krieg. I have plenty of files for both of them and I already have a Space Marine army. Which one should I go for?

@@landocamando4065 I finally went for Death Guard. The files I had for Custodes and Dkok are outdated. There are way better files and scan now running around in different telegram groups.
I recon space marines are best to 3d print, due to people's interest and the variation you can get in helmets/accessories etc

those great unclean models are beautiful. I bought the gw model and it's alright but the pose leaves a lot to be desired. I was in the process of trying to figure out how to kit bash it.

I think Space Marines are the best army. They are the posterboys and they get most credits from all creators, official or not, so you could choose from a lot of options to 3D-print.
I will print them, I think.
And the Aeldari, the Drukhari, the World Eaters, and whoever else I want.

Chaos Daemons are by far the easiest. Like lots of 1 for 1. But there are endless numbers of proxies you could use.

@@battlebrothersam just so you know there is no black legion in HH. I think there are some units in Sons of Horus that are painted black a type of Terminator unit

I would say Tyranids. Mostly because a lot of creators makes nicer models than gw themselves. I just dislike the way GW makes nids with hands to actually hold their weapons. In my head canon those guns and blades should be part of their body.
I agree with the weapons part they are ever evolving biomass it only makes sense! Tyranids are an excellent choice I have a good few downloaded ready to be printed lol
The most expensive to buy army is the best to print IMO, so either sisters of battle or orks, but I'm going with Sisters on this one.

Bro, de price difference defenetly makes it worth it BUT if you think the quality and especially detail is even on the same planet as the ones of GW your f stupid. Honestly, HONESTLY they look like garbage in comparison. With a better 3D printer the story changes... but just saying.
