A tiny cultural reference - Hinata says that you've gotta eat pork cutlets on game day. In Japan it's common to eat food that has "katsu" (meaning "win) in its name on the day of an important match/exam/interview - a couple examples of those foods include katsudon (pork cutlets) and kit-kat (cause it sounds like "kitto kattsu", aka "certain victory").
Also, a point for continuity - back in S1 when we saw Shiratorizawa on the news about Inter-High, they did show us how Shiratorizawa beat Ohgiminami, which they reference here.

Furodate did an amazing job writing this series... there are basically no fodder teams in any of the tournaments that Karusino plays against. I have heard this series called "the anime for losers" based on the idea that anyone who has worked really hard for something, and then lost... will really relate to the story. As you have seen even Karusino lose at times, and both Hinata [and Kageyama} had been shown losing in the very fist episode. [though its a bit less obvious in kageyamas case, as we only see hinata reading about it after the fact]

I really like this OP. Particularly the bit where you see what’s it’s like to try and follow one of those Minus Tempo spikes from a receiver’s perspective.
With that said, the next OP’s song if a fucking BANGER though…

This is such a nice one-off episode, since we see the story from the point of view of the other team, with Karasuno as the "powerhouse team." Continuing the story from Winners and Losers, there's no such thing as a "throwaway" team, because everyone wants to do well, to show what they got and to win.
