If a boss has an AOE attack, dash FOWARD.
And if you dual hand a bleed weapon, the bleed damage will be +10 better and the overall damage is better by 1.5x
And last thing is that if there is an enemy nearby, your health-bar , Mana ,and stamina will show.
bro your max hp is reduced this entire time because you hugged fia 😂 consume the baldachin's blessing in your inventory to remove the debuff.
(you can also continue hugging her + consuming the blessing if you wanna start her questline)
when an npc ends their dialogue, it doesn't actually mean that their talk is over. talk to them again and that's usually where they tell you to do something very important.
you don't understand how much dialogue and important stuff you missed by not doing this 😂
When aiming for a parry there's some things to keep in mind...
1:You can only parry ONE handed attacks
2: you (obviously) can't parry an attack from a weapon or enemy that's thrice your size
3 The Timing: when timing a parry, you want an enemy attack to collide with your shield while your shield is in the most tucked in position possible (as far to the right as it goes). THOSE are your parry frames. Some shields ( and other non-shield items) have more or less parry frames than others, it's just about getting a feel for what you prefer.
AND PLEASE MIKEY READ THIS NEXT PART FTLOG
When you're absolutely clowning on an enemy, pay attention for a loud BANG(like) sound. That sound means you've staggered that enemy and can now perform a Critical Strike. When performing a Crit, walk up to the front of a staggered enemy and WITHOUT holding any direction, press R1. Some larger enemies like Golems and Trolls will emit orange sparks from the area that you need to walk up to in order to perform the Crit. (For instance, a Golem's Crit spot is it's chest when sparks start flying out after you swiped at its ankles enough to knock it down)
The same goes for stealth Crits. Sneak up behind an unsuspecting enemy and WITHOUT holding a direction, press R1.

Dont forget to upgrade your finger seal to make your incantations stronger. If the seal scales with Arcane then put points into that and if its scales better with faith then put your point there. Getting a arcane seal would be the best for you since the reduvia scales with arcane as well. You can also use the seal you got in your off-hand on a horse by pressing the two-handing command.

The easiest weapon to parry with is the buckler. Any buckler shield with the skill called 'Buckler Parry' is going to give you the largest window. The parrying dagger also has a good window, but the timing is a lot earlier. Small shields are best after that, followed by medium which is pretty difficult to parry with (which is what you have)
The benefit to the larger shield though is that you can block 100% physical damage. Smaller parrying shields will only be like 80% at best.
You can also put parry on an offhand weapon like a katana. I'm not sure how easy it is, but it's pretty cool

I started playing Elden Ring a couple of weeks ago and so far Ive killed only 2 story bosses, Im usually too scared to play by myself so I play when Im in a call with my friends. Watching you play this game with ease inspires me to play on my own ❤ you got this!

If you’re scared I would advise just leveling up as much as possible before taking on main bosses.
Also upgrading endurance and vigor most so that you can take hits & gaurd them w your shield plus have more stamina to roll.
Also getting spells will help!

This series is already amazing! A tip that should help since you use a shield, is you can do an attack called a guard counter. When you block an attack with your shield if you then press R2 you will do a stronger attack that has increased stun and poise damage. As for the Reduvia, its strongest attack is its L2, you can only use it if your either 2 handing the dagger by pressing triangle and R1, or by unequipping the shield. Also, as you have noticed, you cannot parry any attack, basically any attack that isn't with a weapon or is with a very large weapon cannot be parried. Parries also have different timing depending on the shield, bucklers are the easiest to parry with and you can eventually find ashes of war that have larger parry windows!
* hold/charge R2 after the block, if you just "press" it you'll just do a regular R2 not a counter...👍

Between the Reduvia and the Hookclaws I would say choose both. The hookclaws can be 2 handed turning you into Wolverine. Keep the Reduvia in your offhand for it’s Ash of War.
Speaking of AoW (Ash/es of War), the one on your shield is Parry and it takes priority over any weapons Ash of War. Put your shield on your back or put it ‘away’ by changing what’s in your offhand. Once its away you can use your weapon’s AoW. The Hookclaws have one of the best AoWs in the game, Quickstep, which works as an instant dodge and can be used to extend your dodge roll.
So here’s the ‘strat’, Hookclaws in main hand and the Reduvia in your offhand’s first slot. Have the shield in the 2nd offhand slot to switch to for blocking. When you want to proc bleed from range use Reduvia’s Ash of War and for CQC, 2 hand the Hookclaws and dice ‘em up with agility using Quickstep.
Ash of War is used by pressing L2 / LT. 2 handing is done by holding Triangle / Y and pressing R1/ RB or L1/ LB depending on what you want to 2 hand (Left or Right hand weapon corresponds with L1 / LB or R1 / RB.
Also. Upgrading weapons increases your damage more than stat levelling in early game so Smithing Stones are a Tarnished’s best friend.
some weapons have skills but the skill on the shield take priority (parry for example). Since you can only have one skill at a time, to use the weapon skill you have to equip the no skill Ash of War on your shield, put away the shield for a sec, or two hand your weapon. You don’t HAVE to use your weapon skills but they’d help a lot if you used more.

Love seeing you join the team of Elden lords but do remember to also read guides for anything you don’t understand and to look for the golden trees for golden seeds to upgrade the amount of flakes you hold. And helpful tip once a enemy is knocked/staggered walking into them and pressing R1 will let you do a critical hit (also getting behind them)

Also, hit R1 immediately after blocking an attack (if you haven't caught that yet). It's a guard counter and can cause a lot of poise damage.
As for your parrying, you are hitting it too late. So you are still making contact, and blocking, but not hitting the actual parry window. Especially with a slightly bigger shield like the heater shield.

Also the ideal seal for you would probably be the dragon communion seal. It buffs dragon damage, scales with arcane (same as reduvia) and is in general just very good especially for your build. Anyways love the series and keep it up!
Hah! Love how you just stumbled upon that big dragon and instantly figured out the cheese to take him down. Thats one of the speed-run tactics to gain quick levels. Glad to see you having fun and discovering stuff naturally!

Good to see you playing one of the best games ever, period. Hopefully you’re still reading comments, cause… here’s some tips- some niche, some obvious.
>You could definitely use some more vigor. Vigor, imo, is the single most important stat to have - you can’t dish damage if you can’t survive to get your hits off.
> Certain stats raise your resistance to status effects and damage types. For example vigor increases poison and fire resistance, while intelligence increases magic resistance.
>Don’t sleep on Ashes of War. They typically do a lot more damage than regular light and heavy attacks. Experiment to see which one works best, and don’t hesitate to add different status affinities to your weapons - these are applied through different Whetstones found across the lands between.
>I’m not sure if you’ve found it yet (ignore this if you have), but you might’ve missed the Flask of Wondrous Physic, a customizable, reusable potion. It’s a must-have.
>Some armor and clothing give hidden bonuses, like added base stats. Read the description of them in the inventory to see what they are.
>Lastly, don’t forget to check areas to see if you’ve missed anything notable. See a suspicious looking wall? Hit it, and it’ll fade away. Missed a side-path? It could have a nice talisman.
Hope this helps and don’t rush through the game! Your first playthrough is always the most special.
Hi Mikeeey! You’re doing great with the series so far and can’t wait to see where you explore next. My advice is if you look under your stamina, you might see a red square with a black arrow pointing down. This means your health isn’t at its max. To fix this, go to your inventory to find an item called baldachin’s blessing. It’s a blueish clear item that Fia gives you when she holds you. To fix the red box, use baldachins blessing and wait a few seconds and the red box will disappear giving you more health.

@@mikeeey300 Using it gives you more "Poise", which makes it so you get staggered less (also less interruptions when you're attacking). It's also supposed to give a physical damage negation. But it only lasts 15 seconds.

With every weapon comes a skill (ashes of war, can be equipped from roundtable at smithing) or heavy attack to it, which all do more damage, I'm not sure if you knew yet, but the skill attack I'm pretty sure is L2, and heavy attack is R2 (can be held to deal a bit more damage, but leaves you vulnerable for a second) btw keep doing what your doing, love the content mikeeey

Btw you have to talk to that girl in Stormveil shack until she repeats her dialogue. She'll then go to roundtable hold and can upgrade your wolf summons and other spirits so they can be a better support to you when you summon them to fight. ( More damage and tougher)
Keep in mind theres about 30 or 40 different spirit summons to get, many are better than the wolves as you get higher level and further into the game.✌️
Hey just a quick tip, if you unequip the item in your left hand and hold only your dagger you'll be able to use its special skill and if I remember correctly it'll shoot out a projectile which if you go into melee range and use that skill it'll proc bleed twice as fast, it does use FP tho
Also look for Smithing Stone and Sombersmithing stone bell bearings. You can give them to the Twin Finger Maidens and can just buy Smithingstones instead of having to find them
Also if you wanna do the blood slash that the guy was doing with the Reduvia, you have to either dual hand the Reduvia or get rid of your shield.

mikey, if you press r1 i think it is, right after a block, you do a guard counter which does more damage and is especially helpful on enemies that have shields because it will ignore them. so just a tip that i used A LOT.
I don’t know if you know this but if you 2 hand any weapon and press L2 it will do its special move.
Every weapon has one and that Reduvia blade has a projectile as one.
Some weapons have 2 parts to it
Something that helps ENORMOUSLY is utilizing the “Y/Triangle” menu (located at the right of the pause screen). Anything you can put in the down on the dpad menu can be put there instead, I literally only have my health and physik potion in the dpad menu.
I'm a new sub as of you first elden ring video and i'd like to give a few pointers from my experience with being a Veteren in Elden Ring and Souls in general. There is another menu in the game that you can access by holding down Triangle, you can equip items onto that menu by pressing options and going on over to the right, I usually equip my Boiled Prawn/Crab, different Greases when I want to coat my weapon in Fire or Rot, i've got torrent equipped there as well as my Flask of Physick(or however you spell it). Another tip is to upgrade your shield, it may not be as useful as it was in demon's souls, but Guard Boost works the same, the Higher the guard boost the less damage your Stamina will take, I recommend you upgrade the Brass Shield as it is the best medium shield in the game and drops off of Soldiers. If you ever notice your weapon bounce off of an enemy's Shield you need to Two-Hand your weapon to get through their guard. One last tip before I'm done is; when you equip ashes of war if you're going for equal Str and Dex you want to equip Quality onto your weapon, as quality scales with Str and Dex and also allows you tow use greases to enchant your weapon anyway. Be sure to look for more whetstones as they will unlock new affinities to put on your weapons. Good luck on your adventures, I'm having a great time watching your experiences. Bleed and Dragon Communion Spells are DOMINANT in a PVE experience against those tougher Bosses, There is a Dragon in Caelid I would recommend taking down, for his breath is especially deadly. Sorry had to sneak one more tip in there, Have a good year and Have fun with Elden Ring, It's my third favorite Souls game right next to Demon's Souls and Bloodborne.
(edit: also Halberds are great for horseback. sorry i'm done I swear!)
You can heal torrent by crafting berries with the fruit you've been getting and you flask as well.
One more thing, you cannot get invaded by players unless you have another player (co-operator) in your world, or you use the Taunters Tongue. Those Invaders you fought were NPC's.

Basically I advise looking into getting better whetstones so you can put blood affinty on ash of wars that dont regularly have bleed, this alsoo increases base bleed buildup on normal hits

there is one of the best amulet in the 1:50:43 area. the bloodhound fang is a good weapon with a very good weapon art. it L2 for weapon art and if it don't work try 2-handing it. if you what to parry the best parry shield is the buckler at stormveil castle form the pail dude.
Yo to carry a heavier load of armour u need to upgrade endurance. Then u can rock that dudes armour. Also u need to double arm the reduvia and use L2 and you will get a midrange dagger projectile. To double arm you press triangle and R1.
As far as elden ring goes I’m glad ur enjoying the catch flame spell some, it’s really versatile just keep in mind it’ll be weaker when casting in water or against an enemy big in fire resistance also I’m not sure if u want to use magic a lot but if u do be sure to focus ur faith stat now it’s ur first Playthrough so I would recommend getting it up to like 40-60 that way those spells really do damage also u would then need to get ur mind up to the 30-35 range, certain spells use more FP than others and u don’t want to run out of FP if ur going to use magic a lot. There’s a spell called rot breath in caelid at the dragon communion it’ll absolutely melt enemies with its scarlet rot so I recommend getting that when u can super useful spell, certain cookbooks contain certain spells so if u turn the cookbooks into corhyn you’ll be able to purchase those spells and there’s a cookbook in stormveil castle that u missed and there’s one in Liurnia near the artist shack but u have to defeat a knight to obtain it the spell u get is lightning spear and it’s one of the best spells a faith build can have, one last spells to get is frenzied burst it’s like sniper it’s in Liurnia south of the church of inhibition between rot breath frenzied burst and lightning spear those spells can really carry u through a good portion of the game and their all easy to get but also if corhyn has spells to purchase or if u find any spells that can be bought just buy all of them u never know which ones u might need
You should probably upgrade your Mind stat. It will increase your FB/blue line, needed for your incantations. Also you can easily see which weapons have bleed effect, and other effects in your inventory for weapons. Its under the name : Passive Effects. Good Hunting fellow Tarnished

for the reduvia dagger, it has a ranged LT attack that you can use, it inflicts bleed status and could be good against hard opponents.. also when you get ancient somber smithing stones there is only like 10 of them, so don't waste them on a weapon you aren't going to main

If you like bleed weapons then level up arcane it determines how much status effects build up like madness,frost,and bleed
a little piece of advice, fighting on the horse is significantly harder than on foot, your dagger has a ranged attack that does like 70 bleed unlike the 55 bleed base attack. so that firebender in the village of albanorics could have been dealt with much easier, try the ash of war rather than the horse! :)
Get the bloodhounds fang, I swear it’s gon be one of the best weapons you have for dexterity
1) You should fight big bosses like Erdtree avatar without Torrent because you make it harder for yourself and use Torrent for huge bosses like dragons it's easier to land more attacks to make a bleed
2) some unique weapons has special ashes of war you can use them if you can use them if you two handed your weapon or other ways and press the L2 ( the Parry button?)

I know I’m late but if you remove the ash of war on you’er shield, it would make you’er weapon ash of war the default one
When you let Fia hug you it gives you a debuff that doesn't go away until you use her Baldachin's Blessing which you can find in your inventory with the other consumable items.
The debuff sucks but you can use the blessing at any time and it makes your poise better. Poise is what keeps you from getting staggered and is pretty much the only thing armor is really good for besides looking dope.
Poise of 30 let's you eat 1 arrow, poise of 60 let's you eat 2 arrows, poise of 90 let's you eat 3 arrows. You want 60 or higher to be able to tank most weapons, but you'll need 90 or more for the bigger two handed weapons and something like 110 for the worst hits in the game. Increase your stamina so you can equip heavier armor and more weapon sets. Loving the stream and keep killin it!

One tip is bleed doesnt really work well on crucible knights theyre really robust cus of their armor and so u dont realy slash em instead try to stance break em by heavy attacking the same thing is true wirh bosses u can stance break by fully charging a heavy most bosses stance break in 2-3 whixh allows u to do good damage via crit

Try Two-Handing the Reduvia and press L2. Or just put away the shield for a sec and press L2.
You probably already know this lol, but you should dodge inward: meaning dont or try not to dodge outwards like back from attacks, especially boss attacks because if you dodge outwards there’s still a chance for some of their attacks to land on you.
Most weapons have special abilities use LT
Mikeeey you should get glinstone magic it is very good for long range attacks (think of it as aim bot) continue the great work
