49:43 tarantula 3 has gotta be one of my favourite moves in the whole game for the reasons you mentioned. Visually, strategically and thematically it's just perfect and it makes me so happy lol
Some notes i found out from watching high level Zafina i wanted to share, since theres 0 info on Zafina on the internet: - Her best wallcombo with spin is WS3 DF1 !S DF1,2,1 - However you have to delay the first hit as well as the third hit of the DF1,2,1 to make it connect, its more damage and more importantly less selfdamage, so definitely worth practicing - TRT D1+2 into DF1 hits everything except quickstand for a ton of damage, which extremely few people know. - After spin in most combos you can jab dash into df1,4 for optimal wallcarry. (except after ws1,2 for some reason) - In the SCR DF4 CH combo you can spin immediately with MNT 4,3 and face people the correct way to allow for a wallsplat with either MNT 2,1,4 or MNT 1,3B into heat burst for more wallcarry, does same damage as the combo frame shows, but faces them the correct way. - After WS2 do a neutral 3 hold back into DF1 (or just double DF1) and then normal combo route for a lot more damage. - Lastly for the D3 into MNT combo you can end with MNT d+4 into DF1, hits some wakeup options directly for a ton of damage and if they dont get hit you're +6, with pretty much the same combo damage. Love your content Frame, you made me interested in making Zafina work and attempt to optimize her even though it is super hard with the lack of info spread around, hope this is useful to you or the viewers

Being a dirty Kazuya main I have actually spent more time with Zafina in this game and I did mention some of the following stuff in the stream the other day but everyone ignored me XD. So ill try to explain it better here. Her combo damage in open space is horrible BUT, she actually has some powerful reset and refloat technologies I don't see many people use that are literally game changers imo. First up... D+2,4,3. I noticed Chanel doing this in a couple of his replays. I don't use this move in neutral but the reason why this move is good is after a tornado in combos will connect the last two hits and set's you up for Guaranteed Oki and scarecrow mixups. (timing is a bit tricky with the claw tornado but you basically just do immediately and don't dash in) (I like Db+3 or Ff+3). I've got so much reward for this that I started to do it a lot unless I know the maximum damage combo will kill, or take to the wall. 1, 3 when used say after a backdash to wiff the 1 acts as a counter hit and you get a free tarantula 2 launcher. so maybe not just for wierdos after all.... Try it. Df+4,1 after tornado as you run up for an ender has a cancel off the last hit by holding downback which allows you to hit a WS 4, if you are fast enough. As far as I can tell If the opponent does anything but tech roll or quick back getup you get a refloat combo into the claw just frame and all of a sudden her combo damage doesn't look so bad. I have won alot of rounds doing this. If they do start to tech roll you can cancel immediately into scarecrow with a manual transition and hit them with mixup options including the scarecrow heat smash, and they have to respect it. Some of this sounds gimmicky on paper, and is advanced and takes practise but it's powerful stuff Weebs! Also ignore this post harada and buff Zafina please.

WR3, df1, repeat, lol, I catch ppl with that all the time, especially in heat cuz of the armor, oh and I catch ppl with trt d1+2 then mantis df1 can only be blocked with a quick stand, but if it hits, 50dmg total, other than that, I fish for mantis 4,3 CH launcher cuz I can get 85dmg without walls, heat or rage, a lil tricky with timing, but highest dmg by far, great guide frame! My setups are different, but we get to the same place with zaf eventually, lol

I made a Freddy Krueger costume for zafina which i thought was hilarious and wanted to learn her lol. Your guide was very thorough, explained stance transitions in an easy to understand way, why and when to use them. It was great information which was easy for me to understand. What a guide! It's definitely kickstarted my journey towards becoming 'fluent' with this character. One small thing the guide is missing in my opinion though, what to do when you get a wall blast, wall break, floor break, balcony, etc? Or is this just a matter of impromptu figuring out what part of your bread and butter combos to continue from? Again, great guide otherwise, solid 9.9 out of 10

I think you could have said a bit about her throws - nothing special there, but it's far easier to throw someone even with basic throws in this game, as they act as CH tool or counter to armor/parry moves. E.g. 2+4 and uf+1+2 have always had good oki options, but it was unlikely to catch someone off-guard in T7. Also, adding a short overview of enviromental moves (wall/floor breaks, bounces, etc.) could be beneficial for people who would like to utilize stage gimmicks a bit more - but I guess it's more of an intermediate stuff, rather then a starter. Let's hope for the buffs!
@FrameWhisperer thanks for this bro as a new Tekken player starting with the 8th installment and deciding to play Zafina because not only is she smoking hot but, she has some really cool animations and fighting style that just feels so badass to control and unique among the other Tekken fighters.
Chaining mixups instead of super long combos is probably why I'm good with Zafina. I've never been good with doing combos in a fight game but I can get 60 damage consistently with her and always be mixing up. Didn't play Tekken 7 but I chose her at random, or rather she was chosen for me at random for me in 8, and I've been maining her since. Thought I'm super looking foreard to the patch after Evo Japan and what she gets.
Hope they didn't nerf her because of Arsalan. First, they shouldn't nerf based on pro play. Second, Arsalan himself says that he never plays the best of the best but instead characters that are good but underestimated or characters that not many people play.
For someone who famously hates Bryan, it seems that Zafina shares a bit in his gameplan with the unorthodox poking to an extent. I might give her a try, thanks for the quality video sir!
Still no idea what I’m supposed to be doing with mantis. It’s supposed to be a mix, but it has no power low. You get a minus on hit low-mid string, but it’s not natural. Scarecrow has actual mix, but the best mantis can seemingly do is loop back into scarecrow to 50:50 again

You can much more reliably get d2 after ch db2 btw. Its much less damage than b3 but it should be guaranteed at all ranges.

I feel like thats what zafina is made for, more so mix ups instead of combos. Just combo when she gets them.

I've actually gotten a lot of utility out of db4 as a ch launcher for many an overly aggressive player. The combo is also pretty chunky
can also be a real scum bag and gimmick it with a Ki charge. I beat a 20 win streak paul doing this and I felt oh so dirty...
