    I´ve had this radio for years, just sitting in a drawer. I had no idea of it´s AM DXing abilities! I put it next to my Kaito AN-200 loop, and was blown away by what it can receive on AM! Your video made me want to ´revisit´ it, and iḿ impressed!

    Just got a silver version of this on Amazon UK, called the Sangean DT-250. Wanted the black one but too expensive on EBay with the cost of shipping. It's a beautiful handful of a radio. Quality feel and quality sound. Easy to operate and highly recommended.

    I was looking for a small AM/FM radio with a speaker for my bicycle and came across your YT channel and your DT-200X video. Thought your review was excellent so I made the purchase. This radio is PERFECT. I have it mounted to my bike via an old phone mount that I wasn't using and have the wire antenna running down the crossbar on the bike. Tested it out this morning and, as I said, it is perfect. This is as close to the old bicycle radios, like the one Radio Shack used to sell, that I could find. Very happy. Thank you sir!

    I saw this little gem come up on a local classified for $20 (Canadian). I was looking for a portable with a great headphone experience. Your review convinced me to get it. You are 100% correct, this pocket radio sounds absolutely fantastic through headphones. Virtually no hiss and almost never loses stereo signal. Thank you so much, you have helped me decide on three radio purchases. 3 for 3 so far, Keep up the good work!

    I own it's predecessor from the mid 2000's, the DT-200V, which had a TV audio band in addition to am/fm. Essentially the same radio with the same features minus the bass boost, lighted dial face and clock. The buttons are also different, and the casing is a little more rounded on all the corners. One weakness I discovered and repaired was the plastic battery compartment inside, which cracked under the spring pressure, making the batteries lose contact with the all important tabs. I repaired it with an epoxy soaked piece of glass fiber cloth laid against the corners of the battery housing to give it strength. The positive terminal connected to the circuit board also broke loose, so I soldered it back together, then epoxy bonded in place. I've also fallen hard on it, with the radio actually taking the full impact of my body on pavement. Still works! Great radio for it's size and cost.

    Watched many of your videos and almost bought others, specifically Panasonic RF2400D. Glad I waited till I saw this one. One heck of a radio, AM, FM and FM stereo with headphones. AM, late night early morning when I can't sleep, pulls in many stations. And can see digits with light. But boy has AM radio changed. No Jean Shepherd, Bill Mazer, Cousin Brucie, or Dan Ingram. • @todderbert
      @todderbert  Před 5 lety +7

      A slight step below on features, but equal on AM and FM reception. The CC Pocket will stand on it's own. The CC Pocket has the NOAA Weather Bands and Alert Mode. The CC Pocket has DX tools for MW. You get 1kHz tuning and two bandwidth options. The CC Pocket has more presets, 50 instead of 19. The Sangean is a smoother finish and allows it to be more pocket friendly with the curved bottom. Both radios sound good on headphones. The Sangean has an easier to read display. Check out my comparison video with the DT400W...similar radio with the addition of the Weather band. czcams.com/video/BqMO7HlpUoM/video.html

    Hi todderbert, would you happen to know or be able to tell any differences between this DT-200X and the DT-250 apart from the DT-250 being silver? When looking at the specs they are pretty identical apart from the 250 is marketed as 9k tuning and the 200X as 10k tuning. There is also slight variation in measurements according to specs as well but I think that's probably due to rounding or converting from imperial to metric.
    I actually wanted this 200X because I prefer the black over the silver but live in Australia with 9k tuning (not that I use AM) and that's all that's sold locally but I can get the black 200X for $70 Australian from Amazon vs about $90-$105 for the DT-250. Would there be any reason to go with the 250 over the 200X seeing they can both do 9k on AM?
    Love your videos by the way, I've frequently been coming back to your channel for years and it has influenced a few of my purchases and saved me money on buying some radios just to see what they are like.

      I have this HRD 104 but it has a very tiny sound. It performs well enough for my needs but I taught that it may be a better sollution. Apparently is one of the few that may fit my needs.

    Does stereo FM depend on broadcasting technology? Can I get stereo FM in india?

    • @todderbert
      @todderbert  Před 2 lety +2

      Yes, the Broadcaster needs to support FM Stereo. Check your location to find out. Many in India use Shortwave. Not sure how FM is in your Country.
