That "ehh shut the fuck up" was hilarious. IM SO HYPED
I am so fed up with the whingers. Tasse gets it spot on.
Bloody oath, into the light is fucking awesome, and this dlc looks wonderful. Excellent finish to a long standing game
Absolutely, like fuck off and let people enjoy it.
@@jordanmcgaw5591not finished
Bungie clearly just wasn’t ready for the showcase they did in August lmfao. They wanted to be ambitious but the business needed pre-order numbers.
I doubt most of this was planned at this point.
@@atomic_wait It was definately planned, just wasn't ready back in August. These expansions are planned out years in advance. They've probably had an early version of prismatic concepted for years. A Bungie dev once said they worked on 20+ subclasses throughout Destiny's life cycle, and only 5 of them have made it to release.
I bet this was made in the past three months
@@Asian_Importyou clearly were born yesterday
@@Rockdwaynejonnyson I don’t think this is three months worth of work. Maybe the extra race members but not the multiclassing part
The pre-order fusion rifle makes more sense now
almost like they split up a single expansion into two
@@nothanks8426lol
@@nothanks8426the hell that has to do with final shape preorder weapon
Grapple on all subclass’s is a huge W!
But do we have to earn that subclass and play that bad expansion?
i wonder if its going to be available to players who have all the subclasses already or players who buy the expansion, bc if you need all the previous expansions and the latest one to use abilities from subclasses it would suck
@@cmaxwell229 historically the last 2 expansions that introduced new subclasses (lightfall and beyond light) had the subclass tied with them locked behind the expansion. Likely for those who don't buy final shape, you'll get access to the first mission which will give you a taste of the prismatic subclass but if you want to actually earn it permanently, you'll need to buy final shape and progress through the campaign.
@@lysander7578 considering that you probably need to combine at least one darkness subclass with one light you will definitly have access to everything even if you only own final shape. Otherwise it wouldnt make sense because both darkness subclasses are behind a paywall
@@cmaxwell229 eh it's not that bad. just kind of underbaked.
If this video came out on April 1st, I would have thought it was an April Fools joke. So much unexpected, pipe dream stuff revealed
I think Bungie just realized the game was getting stale and there wasn’t much they could do to shake things. So they decided to break the game
I think so too.
I think Prismatic was supposed to be the post Final Shape power along with the rumored red darkness subclass, but I think with the numbers down Bungie pushed Prismatic up.
Because the story hinted several times at controlling both dark and light (Savathun's two truths and a lie thing mentioned it), but I think that wasn't supposed to happen until after we beat the Witness.
My guess is they planned to give us one final darkness subclass sometime after The Final Shape and then Prismatic was supposed to be the future of the game but the current numbers and the timeline on the work needed just made them say "Screw it, break the meta".
It's been a long time coming. I believe it's what live service games need to survive long term. Each time they did it a little bit people came back! VOG, TTK, ROI, Forsaken... Every time they've "broken" the rules of the game they've seen success.
If they really wanted to break it they would let us slit exotics in every slot. Either way I hope they do break the game in pve
@@aadlersbergguess the exotic class items (for armor at least) was the compromise?
@@Lucid00Prismatic has a special secondary super that is not only in the trailer last August at the end when the Titan summons the axe (we all thought that was void energy. The axe was but the glow around him) and its the same color as the Traveler portal.
It was 100% planned for Final Shape because the idea is that the Final Shape means something different to Guardians and the Witness. Guardians idea of it is a unified Darkness and Light to resolve the truth of both.
This is how you sell pre-orders
Yes when you show more then 10 minutes of gameplay
They got me bro. I just pre-ordered immediately after
It's what I have been trying to do the entire lifetime of this game combine elements. Thank god
I hate how pre-ordering has altered game development. Sure, it's useful for little teams of indies with no corporate backing. But pre-ordering for a giant corporate studio that has consistently abused player trust and underdelivered heavily while also making up the story as they go along rather than have any consistency to it? Nah man.
@@trashjash i mean pre ordering is more usefull for big studios because they need the money more desperatly, if your average AAA game now costs 150-250 million dollar, you are more likly to need more money during development, not to defend perordering in general i think its a bad idea, but i understand why it is done
I'm sure you've already seen by now but in regards to 3:40 , the exotic in the current test build says the perks will only be active while a prismatic subclass is equipped.
Another thing I noticed is that the spirit of the assassin perk from assassin's cowl on the new class item ONLY grants invis on melee kills. Assassin's cowl grants invis melee kills, finisher final blows, and grants healing. So assassins cowl is still gonna be useful.
@@AwkwardKaliyeah if I remember they take one part from one exotic and another to prevent it from being too strong for pvp and pve
@@AwkwardKali Same with the Titan in the trailer. His mark has Ophidian and Star-Eaters but the Ophidian perk only says "ready weapons faster" and Star-Eaters lacks the overshield and burst of healing parts so I think that's where the balance is coming from similar to how I'm sure they'll balance Prismatic. Jack of all trades, master of none style. We're gonna have less individual power in exchange for more power of multiple types. Still going to be crazy to combine certain exotics. Star-Eaters with any super-buffing exotic like Celestial is going to be INSANE for damage phases for everyone
What do u meant the titan had ophidian???? That's warlock exotic @@Wynorrific
@@riothegod1831 If you watched the video, each class gets an exotic class item that takes parts of any 2 exotic perks regardless of class
This is the first time in a LONG time that Destiny has felt like it's doing something new. And obviously the kinda funny part of that is that it's really just remixing stuff we already have. But the fact that they're just pulling out all the stops and saying "Yeah sure, go for it, mix all your subclasses together, mix exotic perks, go wild" is a pretty huge, fundamental shift in how Destiny works.
It definitely is, because while Strand offered some new stuff in essence it was just another way to do damage and crowd control in a new color, it didn't bring an entirely unique fantasy to the game. Ironically, breaking the shackles and letting us go nuts with existing powers feels way more original and new.
It's not just remixing stuff we already have it turns out. Prismatic has an extended neutral game that no other subclass has. When you pop Transcendence, you get a dual elemental effect on everything that creates new interactions. It's genius honestly.
Death rattle. What devs do wile the ship is sinking. Or what new indie devs do to start out with no big corp overlords who answer to shareholder.
@joshaboi7467 I can't say i agree with Strand not bringing a unique fantasy. It had a grappling, threadlings and some of the best support and debuffs. And with stuff like grappling onto sparrows and Rockets and combos like throwing a tangle, grappling onto it to melee slam into an enemy and then do it again with the refunded grapple charge was unlike anything in the game. Not sure how you could say it wasn't unique.
IHE is gonna love those flying moth monsters
closest thing to moth people we're gonna get
I want crazy ability options like this. Destiny’s ability gameplay is what drove me to play the game in the first place. Them dialing abilities up by 5 billion justifies a dlc purchase for me now more than ever.
That stream went hard. The Transcendence sub-super is so cool that i dont even care about a red subclass anymore. This is a third paracausal force that opens up so many different future plot points.
8:43 Luke said after you defeat the Witness they will share what is to come after. I think they didn’t want to distract from the immediate enemy. And after the worlds first raid they will probably announce what is to come.
Bungie shoewcase in juky most likely or august
After a few months after we defeat the witness.
Leaks which have almost all been correct since the layoffs say that a "new Darkness" is unleashed
@@Dynasty1818a new huh??? “We are closing the light and darkness saga” I’m confused 😂
@@Till27_Spence yeah, one of the people laid off at Bungie did a massive leak. Just said with the Witness's death, a new Darkness is unleashed. All their talk of a new subclass, new enemy/species, D1 tower return etc etc, all been true.
10:32 exactly
😂 I couldn't agree more
I still don't understand why you're confused about them not jumping right into what the next DLC is. If this were another DLC that wasn't the capstone to the saga, it would make sense to show whats coming next. In this case, it makes sense to me to keep the focus on TFS. It seems, based on what Luke said, that after The Witness is defeated we'll see more about what's coming next.
Sure but they're aware how pessimistic most of the playerbase is about post-Final Shape. Spoilers be damned, people just want to know if there will actually be anything worth sticking around for. The fact that we have no official confirmation is worrying. Even the announcement of a future expansion, not even with a name, would go a long way in reassuring players.
Agree
Marvel brain moment
@@underscore_5450That sounds like a them problem. They need to Learn how to be patient. Plus it might be plot relevant to the future of the game, so it makes sense.
@@swordmaster009 Except bungie is already trying to sell that future content of course people would want to know what they're buying.
It's amazing what a little pressure does to bungie they have it in them to make bangers they just need Sony take over threats looming over them, it seems.
Also, the dread are super cool. I hope they continue being used even after this expansion.
Like in the episodes? Lmao
Yea but is there actually stuff to do. They still haven’t shown the meat
@@underscore_5450 no. Episodes seem themed to existing factions already unless said factions get control of them, maybe. what I want are them to keep evolving and continue on being enemies, not just be wiped out this expansion.
They have probably been working on this stuff even before the reveal last August, they simply didn't want to reveal it back then. It takes a long time to develop crazy stuff like prismatic.
👌
They've finally got my interest. Im still waiting until reviews, but Im interested now. Hopefully the story missions are well designed.
I forgot all about the livestream. Thanks for getting me hype about destiny 2!
Oh my god for the new champions having overload grim bats would be SO UNFATHOMABLY PAINFUL
They have a suppressing scream, imagine that just spammed infinity 😂
If Champions were straight up replaced by tormentors or the likes (the ones with specific crit spots and different combat phases) it would make the game feel so much better
The comment from Luke Smith isn't in the version they put on CZcams after the fact. I think that was just a message up front to reaffirm that the game (and expanded universe) will go on after the Final Shape, and that we'll hear more about that after the Final Shape launches.
I'll never trust a word from the "throw money at the screen" guy lol
@@forcealchemist2603he wasn’t wrong
That was pretty good, OMG! The prismatic subclasses will be build crafting 2.0!
This stuff all seems solid. Time will tell how they wrap up the story, if the raid is good, etc. I'm still in wait and see mode.
The current build crafting is what pushed me away because there just wasn't much to really aim for in terms of build ideas. But this is gonna make build diversity insane
Hey Paul, what song do you always use for your intro? Love the sound of it
Im guessing Prismatic is going to be specifically for those who buy Final Shape, right? I mean it kinda has to be honestly..
Ya otherwise Final Shape ain't gonna sell. The new light subclasses might be free idk.
Yeah, I have a feeling its gonna be kinda pay to win. Good luck getting into any raids if you're not a well lock with devour and a perfectly rolled exotic class item.
@@underscore_5450this is gonna sound nuts, but.. good luck getting into any new raids without... owning the content either? Not really pay to win if it's just part of the content..
They used Strand to sell that steaming pile of shit Lightfall. Let's see what knife in the back is waiting for us 1 to 3 weeks before launch.
@@adversary22lightfall wasn't that bad
I wonder if Root of Nightmare's intrinsic trait 'Harmonic Resonance' will allow us to do +bonus damage to all Dread enemies, instead of just Tormentor's
What if they're just preparing us for the new iteration of character customization: No Subclasses. You pick a class, you get to mix and match whatever abilities are under that class, no matter the element.
This showcase finally got me pre purchase, your right let’s celebrate this win.
The exotic class items are what I am really looking forward to!
Sunbracers with buff arc soul exotic warlock perk…. Oh my!
3:40 I think I saw a line on the armor that said its only for prismatic
Pair Radiant Dance Machines with Bombardiers perks
I think the dread are basically like artificially crafted versions of the ones we have now. It’s like the Witness Took our enemies and changed them significantly. Psion
enemies and Husks (dregs with worms in them)
The mini units are the Attendants and the Weavers, the larger ones are called Subjugators, and they were shown off last year.
I'M SO HYPED FOR THE FINAL SHAPE
The description on the class items spicificly says it only works for prismatic
I really hope there will be a way to focus the exotic class items, at least if you can just focus what classes each trait takes from it would help a tonne cos there are so many potential combinations it feels nearly impossible to get the exact one you want without grinding for months
Would be a nice idea to introduce forging where you offer up two exotics that are say master worked to get a deterministic roll on your class items.
It’s 10 years in the making so it makes sense that we would wield both. I’m curious if the fragments on the new subclass are going to be good
I'm so glad they made a whole new enemy race. I was feeling weird there only being Tormentors and Subjugators as a "witness faction".
And all the other stuff. I'm on the hypetrain for sure.
The builds are gonna get crazy💀🙏
Haven't watched the showcase, haven't preordered, but from what I HAVE seen, which is bits and pieces, I'm super impressed they pulled this outta their ass. *tips hat* I'm excited for the Final Shape now (again!) in June.
SO COOL! I’ve forgotten about the abuse already!
Dang Paul with the hat on 😂😂😂
As far as why you would ever use a regular exotic once you have its perk on the exotic class item: the perk on the class item is a watered-down version of the original exotic perk. So for example: Spirit of the Assassin gives you the invisibility effect of Assassin’s Cowl but not the healing effect.
I do genuinely find the servers getting blasted entertaining because of too many players logging on at once. I’m sure they’re frustrated, but I’m really happy to see this game making a return
I'm so IN after seeing the stream and the launch today has been a blast so far.. only 10 levels to Super Black!!
The exotic class items specifically say that the perks are only active while using the prismatic subclass
Enjoy the moment!! Yes!
Definitely gonna pre order my next paycheck
6:16 i mean they do tho, Psiona do the same ground attack that launches you in the air, whereas these units freeze/pull you in. same type of attack
Everything looks super good. My only concern is that I hope it's not going to be another subclass tutorial expansion like lightfall was
I severely doubt the Dread and even Prismatic were made in 3 months. These were definitely planned before, but I'm betting Bungie wanted to pull a Halo CE and have all this be a surprise like the Flood were back in the day.
The problem compared to then is the player sentiment and preorders are so dang low that Bungie HAD to show all their cards before release.
Overload bats!! I'm back on board!!!!!
So we get the "dev mode" class. Gonna be a lot of fun. New race, I'll take it even if it's like 3 years late for them to be onboard the ships. A lot of new and cool stuff!
I was actually shocked and hyped of what Bungie is cooking up. It’s going to be so good!
Showed this trailer to a friend of mine who hadn’t played since 2016 and they went feral with hype 😂
Those new enemies look like something straight out of Diablo, that’s how you make an evil race
Creature designers on point 😏
from what i saw the new exotic class items ONLY work with the prismatic class
Im gonna do combination blow hunter, the grapple grenade hunter aspect, and gunpowder gamble if I can have more than two aspects lol, and then I’ll call it a day (maybe add a radiant or suspend dodge in there too)
For my super idk if I wanna use blade barrage or gathering storm tbh
I have no idea how they're actually going to balance Prismatic, but it seems like a cool idea. It will absolutely make it harder for Bungie to add in new subclasses in the future (if they decide to) because if everyone can do everything, you kinda have to powercreep any new subclass additions beyond what we currently have since prismatic will most likely be the meta with very specific jack-of-all-trades builds that have every keyword covered.
In a way, I think it kind of takes pressure off of a new subclass. Even if it's not amazing on its own, it'll probably have something(s) good enough to put in prismatic builds. That said, I don't think we'll see many more subclasses anyway
@@V-visionprobably just one more at some point. I don’t expect it anytime soon though lol
The new psion units make sense thematically though. It stands to reason that the witness was more impressed by their capabilities over the gun-toting space turtles they run with.
Has it been explicitly confirmed that the exotic class item takes up the exotic armor slot?! Cause if it’s like the D1 ones and you can still wear an exotic armor piece on top of that… HOOOO BOY things just got even crazier (in the best of ways!!)
They just added a lot in a very short amount of time
If the leak/rumors about D3 being in development are true, and about Prismatic being the future of the franchise, then my guess is that we'll eventually get that 3rd Darkness subclass in D3's first major expansion. Feels like the theme of that subclass is probably something Bungie has had (mostly) nailed down for a while and just waiting for a good time to implement it. It's gotta be inevitable that we'll get it at SOME point. Prismatic should tide us over for a while though, so I'm guessing it'll push to D3 if that is indeed going to be a thing.
This isn't everything we're getting. Keep that in mind. With prism they are moving away from the typical subclass format and expressing it as an ability to wield multiple damage types. It's rumored that another darkness damage type is to be released post raid, and on top of that I think prism is going to have some individual elements of creativity that they haven't shared completely yet, not to mention the campaign and all the weapons slated to come. I personally think this is going to be the best destiny expansion to date, and I'm excited for what comes next. Luke said they would share more about it after we defeat the witness.
Some shitty Bungie exec must've been sweating really hard at the decision to introduce an actual new enemy faction now that it proves they can and people should expect it on occasion in future.
Combining the stag and ophidian aspect is going to create endless shenanigans in pvp. Or karnsteins and getaway artist.
Bungie gave my hunter the final piece in her "Random Bullshit Go!" build, I'm contempt.
anyone who thinks TFS is not giving enough is just delusional. this is easily the most content we have ever gotten in a single expansion.
we have a new subclass and yes, this mixing between subclasses is in my opinion better than a new element subclass because for that they'll need to make synergizing exotics, guns with that element, perks, supers, aspects, and fragments that won't be enough compared to how stacked light subclasses are. hell, strand and stasis still don't have enough variety especially with exotic armor and supers compared to arc, solar and void to this day. so i would really prefer we get a subclass that not only elevates all dark subclasses to benefit from the light subclasses plus new supers for strand and stasis (light supers mixing), but it's also easier for bungie to implement and overall feels much more enjoyable than a new subclass alone.
also we have a new enemy type. and don't forget that looking at episodes and number of dungeons, we might get the dungeon within the first few weeks along with the first episode.
so technically this expansion literally has everything forsaken Forsaken did with an extra subclass, and has everything The Witch Queen did with an extra dungeon, and has everything The Taken King did with an extra dungeon. people just wanna say it's bad because of the layoffs, delay, and the dry first vidoc we got almost a year ago. but objectively speaking, bungie did not lie when they said TFS is gonna be bigger than Forsaken and TWQ. the numbers do add up to put TFS above them. all that's left is the campaign and raid experience.
On the class items I feel like people have missed the idea that you might not get ALL of it's exotic abilities. I.E. Karsten technically has a melee perk and a finisher perk. The text that I saw looked like you might only get one OR the other half of that for a prismatic armor.... not sure but that is what I saw in the stream.
That prismatic subclass on the low feels like a here fuck everything up we don’t care anymore
luke smith said that they would reveal more about the future of destiny after we defeat the witness, so i guess after the raid they'll announce something
Luke said they would give more info on the future of Destiny after TFS drops
I'm so interested in the timeline of all of this. Did they ramp up and make prismatic during the delay, or was it originally shelved to meet deadline and reactivated. Was the dread always in the pipeline, I would imagine it really needed to be, but why not bring it up during the final shape's original reveal. Whichever the answer is, it's fascinating. Because if they were holding back, that's frustrating, because it could have meant much more pre orders and maybe helped with layoffs... but if they cooked all this up in the past 3-4 months, which seems insane, what changed that were actually allowed to just giver. Feels like someone at the top finally just let the devs loose. And they cooked.
Totally agree Bungie did a good job
Heat rises on all subclasses, finally Warlocks can get some solid air play without being tied to solar. Oh man think of the possibilities with blink!
My faith was restored
Well damn.
It looked cool but I'm still not pre-ordering lol. I'm going to need the to see the post launch reviews
You’re one of the only sensible people I’ve seen regarding this lol
10:28
I know exactly who he's talking about.🤣
And Pual is exactly right
This almost makes me want to buy FInal Shape now, but I have a feeling that the shown off and talked about features will "pull a Bungie" and we find that you can only combine very specific things or most abilities are locked out of Prismatic and you can only run very specific configs.
Also, still think there will be an 'epilogue' expansion AFTER the Final Shape.
I’d say in bed by 10pm, no eating past 6pm, high protein meal and a full body workout first thing in the morning before anything else
Cant wait to force my friends to use aspects that give us all the elemental buffs at once
Here's hoping they're able to harness this momentum and things don't stop to a screeching halt right after TFS launches. We CANNOT afford another stinker DLC.
Ngl it's unrealistic to hoping that Bungie keep making Forsaken/KF/WQ level of content, it's okay to release mid DLC once or two in a while (like Beyond Light for example), but never release the stinkiest shit called Lightfall ever again.
You love it buddy. We get it
I think what was shown looks great, but I'm looking for reasons to come back to the game long term and stick with it like I used to. This seems like a "going out with a bang", which is great, but I really need to be shown whatever Luke smith was talking about.
I need definitive info on the "next saga" of this game. Otherwise I'll dive in and back out again maybe forever.
I'm just saying, if I can use my Getaway Artist gauntlets with Song of Flame and Child of the Old Gods to get arc, solar and void souls at the same time, become the center of my own solar system of pain, I'm down for that
This is just more proof to me they cut a dmg type especially when there are two stasis light grenades and only one strand light grenade. None the less super excited!
Man it only took 10+ years to add a new faction that wasnt reskinned. Thats actually impressive.
Seeing the Dread made me tear up and I'm not even lying
lets hope half of what they showed ins not broken and disabled when it launches
As a game dev, it would be impossible to just create the Prismatic subclass and new race in 3 months. This kinda stuff takes soooo much time. It was def cooking for a while but clear it wasnt ready to show off in August. They most likely knew before the Aug showcase the game would need a delay
I don’t think FS is a “farewell letter” like some content creators are saying. Yes by June we’ll be Omega Gods did that stop any of the Borderlands games? No they're even making BL4 as we speak 🤣
I think…after the craftening and the reception of people having a blast when they’re so OP, they had the recipe for what we saw today. They just wanna make a fun video game again. For God sake Loot Smith came out of his chamber from a thousand years and stated “after you kill the witness there’s more Destiny to come it’s not ever yet” likeeeee. I do believe D3 ain’t coming, but last gen support will drop and they’ll start adding on stuff to D2 they couldn’t before. Until they can’t. All I know is Prismatic aka the fabled red subclass is just the strongest shit I’ve ever seen in a video game lol
Yeah, you're right. I was shocked, jaw dropped, completely and totally unprepared. And I said I was not going to play TFS on release lol. I'm a dumbass.
I think the reason nezarec and rhulk and all these dread look the same is because the witness twisted them and granted them new abilities
Rhulk likely doesn't look like the rest of his race. Witness likely gave rhulk their own flare
I'm so happy to be happy about D2 lol
This has a real shot at being the best destiny expansion of all time. I firmly believe it will be the best campaign they have ever done at the very least.
As Aztecross said earlier in the week, this is Bungie taking us fishing.
I don't see how people are saying that this new subclass was made in the past 3 months when they made Tessalation for Beyond Light
Keep in mind that you owning Beyond Light and Lightfall will be a requirement if you want to use this new subclass to its full potential. This means it will be locked behind 3 paywalls if you do not have any of the DLC’s and are interested in having the full experience.
Glad you didn't hold back on how late a new enemy faction is. It's still shocking to think that they've been reskinning the same enemies for 6 years; and the Scorn were a bit of a cheat since most of it was a clone of Fallen rigging/animations.
An aside: their pipeline for assets must be slower than one can imagine. The entire game's structure hinges on recycling stuff, lol, until there's uproar and they have to deliver on something.
