They fixed the Buffalo carry weight.
Base is 300kg, plus 300kg with Pack Harness for 600kg total, plus up to 2%/5%/10% additional weight if you have the talents
I have my character geared towards mining the most and carrying the most so having the Moa is a massive help. I can't run past most predators with just my character speed but on the Moa I can. I love using it and if I hit one decent cave I can almost always get all the tier 3 stuff I need from just the one cave. So on my way back from my first cave I grab a Moa and while I'm smelting everything and getting the concrete furnace going he's already tame.
Thanks for all the content you put out! I recently tamed a few of them but for some reason they would NOT drink water. I made 2 water troughs and they were both full. Lost 4 Moas and 1 Buffalo. Still had fun with them!
Your video helped me because I'm taming both, and they were unhappy, but they just hadn't laid down yet. Now with open world and buffalo carts, they definitely made them quite useful.

Moa is definitely one of the more useful ones. You can carry an entire house in your Inventory and if u ride a mod, you'll have no penalties to your movement speed or the Moa's. It's fast enough to get you from point A to point B, fast enough to run from predators that are faster than a human and just like some animals, it can climb some really weird hills and inclinations that a player wouldn't. It's extremely useful till u get to endgame especially on cave runs and can transport an entire cave's inventory in your inventory without problems.
Boy, this video SERIOUSLY needs a redo lmao. Moas are all over the place and buffalos have carts now.
Both mounts are available in the Styx map. They are in the forest areas. I even found some wandering in the winter biome. Not sure if it’s a bug or if they wandered to far past the forest line and into the cold biome.
The buffalo wooden cart changed everything for me. It's perfect for grinding. I don't have to keep going back and forth dropping stuff off.
Be awesome if they had levels so their health and stamina goes up and ylu can choose them to level speed or attack damage and each one has its special ability like moa could be a screech that stuns the enemy for 2 seconds so you can get away and the buffalos could be a charge. Maybe a bear mount his special would be a roar standing tall on his two back legs that increases damage for 2 - 3 seconds. Maybe pets like the wolf have a tracking ability so you can better hunt or avoid animals

i agree with your takes when it comes to missions, not worth the time investment, maybe if you're playing multiplayer and is just standing around waiting for things, but how often does that happen. however i like them in open world, quite usefull from time to time, and not too much of a hassle to keep them fed.
I really think this video should contain an [outdated]. there has been so many changes to especially the buffalo, compared to what i see in the video. also, another perk of the moa, is that it doesn't care if your inventory is full of coal, as long as it's only carryweight isn't surpassed.
The difference is that you only have to tame a Moa once, while running accross the map is something you do very often. Off course if the mount dies then you do it all over, but at least you have its house built already. Personally I didn't tame any of the two since I don't want to pet any animals and care for them while travelling or fighting or constantly have in mind to keep them fed. I have my hands full as it is. Don't need additional burden.
My bufallo run away with my ore during a storm in front of the cave and cant find the damn thing
HAHA they add a white triangle on the map now so if you don't see that its dead.
I have lots of useless things in my life but as long as they are fun, I do not care. I want a Moa and I blame your video because it was great to watch.
With the Cart, they can carry a lot more (1 ton with 60 slots in the cart), but they are still weak (and slow), random bear would kill them, wolves would make your trip even slower with constantly stop to rescue your bull...

I like to get exotics in Spirit walk.. I always build my base in the huge cave in F1.. I am wondering if you can tame animals in that type of cave... thanks for the video!
Yes. I built a base into the side of the mountain just south of that cave, and they're all around.

Yeah even the moa is slower than late game players with the movement speed goodies. Specialy over a long distance. Their stamina drains extremely fast so they have to walk while u still bunnyhop on foot... so yeah I could outrun my friend on his moa

I bring down armor, two slot increasers, a few starter tools etc ... I am pretty much full with no room for bonuses to bring down. So these plus being able to haul a bit more can save needless trips. There is just way too much walking in this space age games where you have to walk everywhere. But what they should do is be able to feed the animal prepared food and they get those bonuses speed endurance etc. Would be a simple thing for them to implement.

I haven't bothered with a mount yet, not sure I will tbh. How on earth is your Icarus this smooth! What resolution do u play in and what gpu do u have? I've never seen it run so well
Bro I run the 3520x2440 or whatever the max is right and a 3070 with 32Gbs and it STILL LAGS AND FREEZES
@@chancemyers4603 yeh 3070 here too with also 32gb ram. I game in 4k though so expect a bit of a hit but this is pretty bad on Icarus lol. I can get it fairly smooth but defo could do with a performance patch

Im upset that you have to kill the mother. You should just be able to rope one and feed it to tame it then breed it to get better stats.

What is this game
Could have summed this video up by saying, the Buffalo is broken and needs fixing as the overall weight capacity is the same as the Moa, as of this videos current build.
If you're choosing an animal of the two go with the Moa as its faster. You're welcome.
With a saddle, the Buffalo holds 300kg compared to the Moa with a saddle at 100kg
game is so frekin horrible. i managed to find a buffalo on mission so i set out to build all the crap you need. went back to the spot and searched for 2 hours. No buffalo.
Give another try. Instead of missions, build first on an open world, adjust and research, build, and then go on missions. You will have everything. You need patience and roaming around.
