the part where you were actually dropping the diff was the epitome of all do it yourself struggles. "were gonna use the jack cause its safer" **discards jack cause its not working and starts to struggle with it.

Siiickk! Maybe when you bolted up the rear subframe it might have been slightly crooked causing it to "dog trail" or the back end to want to walk out a certain direction so the steering wheel is constantly turned in one direction to compensate. I don't know.

cool bro, but on my German e46 when I push the dsc button and hold it for about a century, it turns the dsc off together with the traction control so I could skate on the round a bout, isnt that the same as a locked diff then? cuz if I just turn off the dsc I cant

So use brake clean on something you're going to weld and not on a mating surface you're going to put RTV on? Full mental, love it

Took all the bolts off when i was working on mine, it was only a matter of pulling it out and welding it but for some reason the diff and the drive shaft got stuck together. Any advice on how to go through with that?
LJ Rigos you've probably resolved it by now but this happened to me and it was small bits of weld slag in the dry bearings... I sloshed some diesel around in my diff and brushed it with a wire brush then poured it out and blew it with a air gun and then oiled all 3 bearings and forced it to move with two bolts in the input flange and a pry bar, it was good after that 👌🏻

I'm not going to lie but that was some really good donuts. Nice job. You need to probaby tighten the bolts on the on either the subframe or some were on the diff area. If it loos like the back will not point straight you you front end will have to compensate

Use one of those earth magnets at harbor freight they work great
This was 4 years ago but anyways put a flathead in the caliper and rotor to hold it the axle for the bolts
Need to put a wet rag over the ring gear to keep slag out of it
He pulled that diff out and started breathing like he had a baby lol

Hi from greece.!! This problem with the stering wheel is hapens because the rear tyre push too much together and transfer the force in front wheel .this is the reason for your problem with steering wheel.for give me for my english .... i hope too help you .!!

Let's hope that subframe is reinforced. I ripped my mounts right out and had to get the whole thing reinforced.
Hugh Janus she's been through so much in the last two years and it hasn't ripped so I think it's pretty stabile. When we had the subframe out to do the bushings we killed any rust in the bolt holes and any surface rust so she should be good, but hey if it rips.. more content^_^
