I appreciate it
Yes😄
I LOVED this interview. His clarity and unapologetic approach to life and his inimitable ability to be fully committed to free soloing and more recently - to love. And have a family. Possibly the bravest feat of a human being. And I love what his wife said - about doing rad things and being well adjusted and having a happy family! He’s so lucky to have her! And he is an absolute inspiration and reminder to us all that if we prepare and focus and love - we can accomplish anything. Wow. 😮
I’ve been watching a lot of videos about Alex - and the documentary-movie was breath taking!! Thanks for having Alex on and getting inside his head a bit more.
One cool guy!
More ppl have landed on the moon than done what alex has....lol! Nobody has or will ever land on the moon! It can't be done bc the moon isn't as described.
TO BE worthy of love. that's the key motivator for this wonderful athlete. He is going for winning to be worthy of love. 😘. And the truth is that YOU ARE LOVED! Doing nothing at all. You are loved for the person and light that you ARE. AND YOUR DAD LOVED YOU.
I can't wait for this! I have always been fascinated by Alex Honnold's mind and willpower ❤️💯
Alex Honnold is a legend!
He absolutely is.
He is very real, down to earth and inspiring. Liked it!
Thank you for making Love your priority and including us on your beautiful yellow brick road. 📡🪶💗
I will tell you why no one else is doing what this extraordinary man is doing/has done, it is quiet simple.... FEAR! That is it. Skill as well, but Alex knows how to manage his fear with confidence so that his skill shines through and he can proceed with these tasks. He has fear when he climbs but he does not let it take control in any way. It's truly amazing. I think that is why so many are drawn to him when he climbs. He is methodical, takes it slow and makes it look so easy. I have been watching him climb for years and it is a strange feeling of calm and nail biting fear!
When I was young I did technical Rock climbing in UT & Jackson Hole and climbed frozen water falls & glaciers in Alaska. Climbing is a mental sport. Thank You for giving us insights into the mind of the amazing Alex Honnold.
There's a lot of wisdom on Alex's life philosophy. I love the focus on doing and not paying so much attention to the memories of the past, or the legacy after death. Thanks for sharing your experiences with all of us
Here for Honnold, first time with watching Lewis. Does he always do basically no research at all? From the first 5 minutes alone it's clear that he hasn't even spent an hour researching Honnold, climbing, free soloing, etc. The conversation could be infinitely richer by even doing the bare minimum.
think he just trying to cater to a broader audience. I’d be surprised by the number of ppl who’ve actually never heard of Alex.
It's crazy to see Alex's interview differences in the past 15 years
This is the best Alex interview. The quality of questions are really great.
So glad you enjoyed it! Appreciate you for watching.
It's true, you did a great job, awesome interview :) @@lewishowes
Fantastic pod, awesome guest, genuine on accepting love, men with this similar block are everywhere and this brings an honest vulnerability take to this. I will check out the doc and new series tonight
Did you get to glimpse at Free Solo? Love hearing reactions.
Awesome interview!
It's pretty clear that Alex is a very emotionally distant person. I think for most people, the relationship with our own mortality prevents us from accomplishing the things he is able to do.
He's just wired different. He's like a fighter that doesn't feel pain.
Glad you enjoyed it!
"For it to look easy, you have to put in the work." Exactly.
Yess, stoked for this.
on one hand I ain’t trying to be an extreme athlete. I’m tired lol. on the other, their experience & knowledge brings much wisdom.
Great interview! Good job to the both of you! 💯
He is one of the most rational people I've ever seen. I like that!
👏
Great interview! Also it's so cool to hear Alex's opinions on life or love that actually differ from the mainstream. I wish people would not repeat what others say but stay themselves, and not be afraid to say their genuine views ... :)
Respected @Lewis Howes
well crafted interview.
This is a really skilled interview. You asked the questions about how the mind works really well.
🙏🙏
A FEW MINUTES BEFORE 1:06:22 The talk around love FASCINATING! I think Alex needs to talk about this more often because he is so head on! To anyone who has had a broken heart, women don’t really love you, they just love what they think you are. Which is why I would be worried Alex’s wife would leave him if he ever stopped climbing.
I just started this, but I know it will be amazing. Honnold is special and so well spoken and so humble and wise. He’s a stoic wizard.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Congrats on baby Alice!!!! She’s a gem! June, Sani and now Alice… you have a house full of beautiful ladies Alex! Watch out! 😜 lol. Huge congrats.
I love this dude so legit and wise!!!
🙌
I don't know that I would say free soloing is particularly wise, but Alex is obviously very intelligent.
His voice only, is awesome, he is a unique and talented guy.❤
Thanks for watching! I'm glad you liked it!
This is such a great way to think. Im learning allot about life listening to Alex
Thank you so much for watching!
I've bumped into your channel recently and it is a good podcast. Hoping for the good net surf hours on my way!
So glad you enjoy the channel! Thanks for being here!
we always looking for the weakness of a human!! Alex is a special one!! his nerves/emotions are awesome!!really one of a kind!! special gift.
amazing conversation. I ended up getting a lot from listening to these two talk and just ramble. things I have been going threw. learning to look at the bigger picture to help work through struggles.
So glad you enjoyed it! Appreciate you for watching.
Do the Hard thing with a Smile. Thanks Alex,
There are savants who make art of incredible magnificence, read many works with almost perfect comprehension, who can hear a piece of music once and then play it perfectly, and then theres this guy. Hes a savant athlete.
It was no coincidence that the movie crew showed up!! it was meant to be and the universe conspired to have the world see the power of the human mind and body!! ALex you are amazing!! thank you for sharing with us your thoughts and your work and living your life to the fullest!!
Great interview and questions 😊
Thank you so much for watching!
Nice questions; good interview, thanks!
So glad you enjoyed it! Appreciate you for watching.
GO BIG!! YES!!😍.
It’s amazing that a man who climbs so high can be so grounded
Wouldn't be alive if he was cocky mate
@@yugimotobutjacked3231 Brilliant response. I agree
Love this episode!
So glad you enjoyed it! Appreciate you for watching.
Oh how love changes things. Those precious daughters 😉
Awesome interview!!
So glad you enjoyed it! Appreciate you for watching.
The greatest athletic feat of all time! Miss a game winning shot or field goal - OK your team loses and you take the hit on social media but slip climbing free solo: Death!!
Hi Lewis, love from India. I always watch your videos frequently. The most impactful shows were you summarising the richest man in Babylon book and podcast with James Altucher. Why don't you also bring David Deangelo aka Eben Pagan for the show about success in digital space and dating area of life?
Legend
What a great, outstanding interviewer!
Thank you! 🧡
I loved this podcast soooo much!
Glad you enjoyed it!
GO BIG!
Alex is definitely carrying around some unresolved trauma. Listening to him talk about how emotionally stunted he used to be and how hard it still is for him to feel love is something I can relate to. It get the sense that climbing was a powerful coping mechanism and escape for him when he was younger.
Alex is a great speaker
Glad you enjoyed it!
impressive, interesting - tks
“It’s called a throw pillow because you throw it in the trash” 😂😂😂
thank you
You're welcome! 🧡
One of my favorite atheletes of all time....
I get why Alex doesn't tell anyone accept key people for filming.
It puts less pressure on himself.
Cool
Basically we are wimps in our own minds compared to what we can Actually Do If We Need To!
just wow
Alex is wrong about love- he could never get over his Dad passing early. He still loves and remembers him. There is no replacing here… you move on, yes. But people you love ( even dead ones) stay with you as you remember and sometimes still miss them!
He shouldn’t be so cruel to himself as to think he’d be totally replaceable with so many people around.
There is randomness in who we meet etc( I mostly agree on Alexes assessment of the human condition) but once we commit to a relationship and let someone really know us , really get to know that person, they matter more…
01:04:00 talking about love: how would you define love? is it a feeling? is it a conscious choice? like choosing kindness or trying to understand instead of reacting? anyways, Alex needs 5g of magic mushrooms to feel loved again lol
I felt 1:09:00
Alex,
There would be no "ups" if there were no "downs". You will be fine.
Post-goal or post-performance depression is actually normal--nothing wrong with that.
❤🙏🏼🔥
🙌
The denial that Alex is showing is why overachievers like him end up dying while climbing. You turned 40 and you have accomplished more than any other person on the planet in free solo. The fact is you're not going to get better but progressively things are going to get harder and harder every year. Your greatest achievements in climbing are behind you. So you will stay in denial of aging till you make a simple mistake and fall to your death trying to push beyond what you already accomplished. I think people like Alex are actually attempting to fight off death by engaging it to the extreme. You're a great man Alex keep climbing as party of your life but step back enjoy your wife and children to the fullest. You already accomplished more than several lifetimes could offer. Don't end your life chasing a fleeting dream that will never seem to fill the void. We all love you...
heavily disagree
“Death, I guess”
Amazing but I don’t get it. Why to risk the life. I lost my son when he was 26. I don’t wish this on anyone. I still put “like” but if there are so many ways to die, why to invent an extra one.
That's exactly what I was thinking about? I really don't get this kind of mentality, but I'm sure he doesn't understand mine either. Such is life
If people didn't test their limits and overcome fear, we wouldn't be humans as we know now, we could stay apes for all we know. There wouldn't be any human advancements if people didn't risk their life
Sorry did he say, I like a sport like climbing where you never get injured? XD my pulley disagrees
Denial is helpful. But a lot of elite climbers do not seem to get injured. I think that is a reason some are elite; their ability to recover so well allows them to climb at higher levels.
"Really?"
never get injured????????? climbing is full of injuries and tweeks
But typically not broken bones and such
He climbs slow, El cap is hard but it's not a hard grade.
No one has ever walked on the moon. That being said Alex is the best of all time
Cool story bruh. Just be careful to not fall off the edge during your travels.
Is the earth flat
his voice puts me to sleep.
Greatest athletic feat of all time
czcams.com/video/wMHQySUt8yI/video.html Really hit home for me. 😢
Appreciate you and your support🧡
