Guard dog rover is so good at dispensing democracy that it kills you and your squadmates as often as the bugs. My first game yesterday i had zero deaths and then this dude's rover killed me while waiting for extraction.
Rover is great, at cutting my head off, randomly. Kills mean nothing, Rover has a tendency of attack shit not aggroed to you and pulling in more and more patrols. That might be why you see more kills, cus you are forced to fight more shit. Without it you can avoid more patrols and actually get shit done.
it is great, but has a certain learning curve ... sometimes it does not target enemies at all, sometimes it does not stop, often it switches orientation while blasting and puts you in the crossfire. suicide dog ftw
It works but it is very broken. The way it is placed near the player results in many suicides.

I call it just Murder Bot. It murders everything. Bugs, allies and you. I never go out witout it.

I got up to a 50+ kill streak thanks to the orbital laser as well with the guard dog

I'm playing levels 4-5 and the Rover is excellent. Rarely kills me and I can focus on objectives/big enemies.
