    Yeah I don’t know why people get their panties in a bunch about permanent synthetic hair. Since it doesn’t absorb water it is lighter, and it stays cleaner. Also it helps to avoid shrinkage. I think your hair looks amazing.

    Omg I been looking for a video like this for years I swear....so right now I faux locs individually and my hair is locing....was trying to find a way to put it in to continue my loc journey....so girl thanks alot I'm about to take this out and do it your way just alittle confuse you took the end of the locs and attack it or the crochet loop part. Some faux locs come with the loop and that's what I have now so it hard to come out but your method will look more natural. I saw the part your hook it and braid it down

    • @astrocari
      @astrocari  Před 2 lety

      Yeah! So because mine didn’t have a loop, I basically braided them in like if you were doing box braids. I pulled my natural hair through the loc with a crochet hook, and then started braiding. Once my hair was completely braided into the faux loc, I used a crochet needle to seal it, the same way you use it to repair locs. I hope this helps!!

    These are actually so cool and I've also been meaning to try this out given how expensive maintaining human hair is, but I'm a bit skeptical because I wonder if I'd be able to get them styled like normal locs and also how long did they take to lock in with your hair?

    • @astrocari
      @astrocari  Před rokem +1

      hey! I'm not so sure about styling, as I don't really style my hair. I just wear it down or in a ponytail if I'm working out. and because I interlocked and then "instant locd" them with a crochet needle, they were basically locd right away. but they should properly loc in the same amount of time your natural hair would (which is different for everyone). just make sure they synthetic hair is fully inside your natural hair!

    I know your video is not new but I cannot see you ever having dreadlocks. When they are called dreadlocks people think dreadful. You had and have had locs because they don't look dreadful , they look nice. There is a clear distinction. I correct anyone who says I have dreadlocks. I cannot tell you what to say or do but dreadlock has a negative connotation. Especially outside the Pan-African community!!!

      hey! I'm so sorry if my language has offended you. I'm not sure what exactly is encompassed in the "pan-african" community (I haven't heard this term before) but I grew up in a Latinx household with parents who both have locs as well, and we always called our hair dreadlocks. I've only begun using "locs" in recent years since it seemed like the more popular lingo haha. but all love here ♥️

      .... ? What ? Locs WERE at one time, referred to as "DREAD-LOCS" ... Its symbolism was rooted in nonconformity and individualistic cultural values.

    Do you think this would work with microbraids?

    • @astrocari
      @astrocari  Před rokem +2

      if you wanted them to be permanent, then yes I think the same technique would work! and would probably be easier to blend in with your natural hair
