Part 1 of my Loc extension journey. This isn’t my first time sporting this style nor installing but thought it would be great to document the process. In this video you will see where I purchase my hair and tools. Watch how I use afro kinky human hair to create small size 16inch locks for myself to be install in the next few months.

How long did it take you to make each loc?
I’ve saved my hair that I’ve cut off maybe a year ago I’m thinking about using that to make my future locs longer

Can you do this with real hair that you combed out that’s in a fro form like those bundles from real locs
hi does it make a difference if the crotchet needle has one vs two vs three prong things. I have the one with one but im wondering if buying the one with 2 or 3 will be easier
For me the two headed one made it easier to make a loc and a little faster. The one with three was difficult for me.

I need help, how do you make sure the dreadlock is the right size while making it, also could I being a 3b 3c hairtype have a extension that is 4c?
Often times that is the biggest challenge I always do a test loc first and what that does is show me how much hair that I need for the thickness and with the length I can always add more hair at the bottom. Also the tighter that you interweave the smaller of the lock you will get so if you start with a very big lock and thicker than what you like you can always tighten your weave with a crochet hook. Over the years I’ve only really been able to see the 4c texture in the Afro kinky hair. I would encourage you to possibly start your lot journey for 3 to 4 months and then merge the extensions at the end so that way you have a mixture of your hair in the extension to help blend.

How could i add more hair into the loc extensions to make it bigger?
Hey love my apologies for the delay !!! If you are interesting in thicker locks the back combing method to build a good foundation and then the weaving of the tools to refine the shape should work great!!!!

Yes !!! The hair a lot of time make or breaks the style!! You can create , color , install 😊

I used between 8-10 and I made 120 locs 😊
Can u get the Afro kinky hair and then just box braid your hair with that and leave it in and then with new growth just twist the new growth ?
Hey love and yes you sure can , I did this with a client years ago and that was the way she actually transitioned into her own natural locs !! Then start to look frizzy and it helps the loc look !!
Alexis Nichole wow thanks so much for real that’s smartest thing to do being everyone mostly knows how to box braid but not install loc extensions and I rather not take the risk of someone messing my hair up then get it messed up.

Hey !!! No product was used but sometimes i’ll spray them with water and essential oils to palm roll them smooth :)

Hey love that’s a very good question!!! For my length one bundle gave me 9-10 locks. Much shorter length could possibly give you a 18-20 locks. Length determines a lot 😊

@@3arth2naomi not sure if you got your answer. But the website sells the bundle deal for 2 bundles for $50 . You can order up to 3 units which will give you a total of 6 packs of hair. Or you can order the pack of hair separate for about $30 each pack. They only allow you to order 3 units per order. So if you feel you'd need me simply just purchase your first order then reorder your next bundle bundle to slightly save... hope this helps anyone to understand the purchasing process

Yes your correct !! 3 double packet. I didn’t want mine too stiff so I don’t use as much hair when creating !!!

U can make any length with the Afro kinky hair
Hey what’s the difference between the 0.75mm and the 0.5mm ?
I like to use a mixture of both, the .75 will help control more hair , and the .5 with help tighten down the hair into the loc :)

How many locs you get with 1 pack?
With the length I did (I think 16inch) I got 12 locs out of one bundle, I could have got 30 had I went shorter :).

Great job love! Question, how did you protect your thumbs/fingers while making the locs? After about a week or so my thumbs were all cut up from the needle 😩
Yesssss!! You know the struggle!!! I double up on the bandaids the ones that are more cloth and if I do get cuts which I always do, I use liquid bandaid to help. I have had to take a break in between sets cause my thumbs are cut up !!!!
A thimble works when I make them,no nails tho.
