ഒന്നുമില്ലായ്മയിൽനിന്നും വിജയം നേടാൻ സാധിക്കുമോ?
കാസർഗോഡിലെ കുറ്റിക്കോൽ എന്ന ഗ്രാമത്തിൽനിന്നും ജനിച്ചു വളർന്ന വിവേകിന് വളർന്നുയരാൻ ഒന്നും തന്നെ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നില്ല, വിദ്യാഭ്യാസമാണ് ഏറ്റവും വലിയ സമ്പത്ത് എന്ന് വിശ്വസിച്ചിരുന്ന അമ്മയൊഴികെ. അമ്മയായിരുന്നു തന്റെ ജോലികൊണ്ട് കുടുംബം നോക്കിയിരുന്നത്. ഇല്ലായ്മകൾക്കിടയിലും തന്റെ കുട്ടികൾക്ക് നല്ല വിദ്യാഭ്യാസം നേടിക്കൊടുക്കാൻ ആ അമ്മ ശ്രദ്ധിച്ചു. 25 കിലോമീറ്ററുകൾ അകലെയുള്ള സ്കൂളിലേക്ക് 3 മണിക്കൂറോളം സഞ്ചരിച്ചാണ് വിവേക് പോയിരുന്നത്. ഈ യാത്രകൾക്കിടയിലും സമയം ക്രമീകരിച്ചു വിവേക് പഠിക്കാൻ ആരംഭിച്ചു.
തന്റെ കഠിനാധ്വാനത്തിന് അദ്ദേഹം ഫലം കാണുകതന്നെ ചെയ്തു. NIT -യിൽ നിന്നും ഇലക്ട്രോണിക്സ് ആൻഡ് കമ്മ്യൂണിക്കേഷനിൽ ബിരുദവും, IIM കൽകട്ടയിൽനിന്നും ബിരുദാനദര ബിരുദവും നേടി. ജോലിക്കിടയിൽ UPSC-ക്ക് തയാറെടുത്തു, 667 റാങ്ക് നേടി.
Can we start from zero and yet become successful? How does time management help in achieving our goals?
Vivek K.V. had nothing to start with. Coming from Kuttikol District of Kasargod, Kerala, Vivek grew up in a very humble household where his mother was the sole bread earner. His mother knew the importance of education and made sure her children have the best of it. Vivek struggled to go to school which was located 25 kilometers away and spent 3 hours on road daily. It was during this time that he started the practice of effective time management. Vivek came up with strategies and tricks to manage time so he could study even while traveling.
His efforts bore fruit and Vivek KV was able to complete Electronics and Communications Engineering from NIT Trichy and did his post graduation in MBA from IIM Calcutta. Vivek managed his studies and worked along with preparing for the UPSC Exam and secured the 667th rank in UPSC 2018.
Vivek KV is the perfect example of how time management can lead to a successful life. It wasn't easy for him to achieve the goal of cracking the UPSC Exam, but his efforts and hard work changed everything. The scarcity of resources did not stop him from clearing the UPSC Civil Service Examination.
