B4st1 ikr Black Mage was the best, design, moves, the sounds he made, his special, loved it. You got him by doing every cup on hard in golden I think. Can be that it even was golden in the normal cups. Sadly I don't know where my Nintendo DS lite and the game are, I'd play it for sure with Black Mage as my captain, if I don't find it I will buy it again because I want to play it again

Sadly if we do, it will be a waste of money, nintendo has failed to bring back both Mario Tennis, Golf and Strikers, if we got a Mario Basketball game (which would be unlikely anyways), it would have a lackluster roster and no final fantasy or coins (and it would only have like 5 courts at launch)
for all of you commenting "memories" and "oh my childhood", if you´ve got android you can download an emulator called happy chick, and play it there
i did that last month and it brought back so many good memories :)

Black Mage's meteor shower has always been my favorite because of how powerful it is
I ALWAYS picked Boo for Mario Hoops. Boo (well the entire Boo species lol) is my favorite Mario character and it doesn't even come close. Moreover, the computers never knew what to do against his rapid fire special shot and I LOVED the scream that happened when he dunked that ball.
