Hero is without a doubt, the posterchild class when it comes to Maple Story. It's quite literally the stand-in for all in universe cutscenes containing 'us'. And it's in the name for gosh sakes, Hero.
This class definitely plays into the hero trope. It does pretty much everything it needs to, when it needs to. Unless it's burst, then of course, the Hero shows up late. :)
Hero's mobbing post Destiny is smooth as butter. This class is what Hero should have been all along. Nothing too crazy, but simple, and reliable. It has the potential to become a really really good mobbing class if they ever decide to buff Burning Soul Blades leash range, or heck, remove it entirely. Until then, Hero is solidly in the middle of the pack when it comes to mobbers. No better or worse than most classes.
Hero's bossing on the other hand. Have you heard of damage? Hero has it in spades. Joining Ark and NL as the staple 3rd 4min CD class Hero DUMPS damage lines onto a boss. Hero evaporates health bars like no ones business, being the lowest stat class I've played so far, to solo Inferno Wolf 100-0.
Hero off burst, while not high in damage output, is high in survivability, and mobility. So staying around and alive until your next burst window, isn't hard. It's just not gonna be dropping big damage while Instinctual Combo is on CD.
Overall, Hero is exactly what the class needs to be currently. Simple, and decently powerful at everything. It's the catch-all warrior. Good enough at everything, to not drag behind the other classes, and stellar at burst. Absolutely Stellar.

Will you be going back to any of your other Explorer characters you've done and updating your review of those classes? I'm a Dark Knight main and I've been quite happy with the Destiny remaster.
The only explorers that got major changes in the Destiny update were Bucc and Bishop as far as playing the class goes. F/P gained one new mobbing skill which improves its existing mobbing, and opens it up to some wider maps, but overall, nothing really changes on Frenzy spawn. Same maps are just better rates now. Creeping Toxin takes too long to spread for Frenzied spawn maps to be dramatically affected.
Bishop will likely get updated eventually, but not anytime soon. Bucc I haven't done yet, so win win. The rest of the explorers did not get any meanful changes to their existing training rotations to warrent an updated video. They're just better at what they already did, and have new animations to boot.
@@Sacrix I was just wondering if you might log in to the classes you've already reached 250 with and show off the changes to their mobbing and/or bossing. Maybe a compilation of a few minutes of each one, along with your opinion on if the class has improved with Destiny.

33:19 I've always been a NL main, but I struggle a lot with all the problems that the class have in bosses... By far, the thing that tilts me the most is the necessity of being in melee range to burst. I mean, wasn't NL supposed to be the ranged thief for the explorers? Doesn't make any sense in my head.
I'm looking foward to job change to shadower, but I know I will end up maining NW eventually...
So many maps would be SO much nicer to train on with a buffed burning soul blade tether range. End of the world 1-4 is so great because you get a taste of BSB actually being useful
1-5 will still be better for Hero lol. The thing is I never tried the buffed RB standing at the middle right of 1-4 yet. Lets remember we also have this beam skill now, the one which replaces Shout. So if you want use it as well, you stand at the middle with BSB at middle right platform. You use beam when its up to kill under BSB. You can do the same thing with Weapon Aura as well.

With the ignition update, they fix the burning soul blade and the distance, it won’t come can if you move too far. Would you revisit hero after that?

Love the video. I have a question about a potential bossing mule, would you consider NL a better burst class than Hero since its 3min vs 4 mins?
Slightly better yes, but no survivability. So take that as you will.

With ignition this november will erda shower and burning soul blade tether changes make these maps still uh "viable" i guess? Sorry im new to the whole "end game" training rates and whatnot. So I don't really know if changes like ignition make it so the maps you train in are entirely different. Also what damage skin is that? looks nice
Hero gets A LOT better after Ignition yeah. They join Kaiser/Adele as one of the better warrior mobbers the game has. The maps are still likely going to be similar, but having the option of using 2 summons, opens Hero up to some more unique maps in the medium size range.
The damage skin is the Hero class damage skin 'Unyeilding Fury'.

Do you think you will go back through old explorers you already got to 250 and which got significant changes to mobbing such as F/P? Also, with Mihile's Royal Guard now proccing even while invincible, what maps would you have liked to train at which you couldn't when you made the original video?
F/P just gained a flat-map boost, not much else has changed. Really the only thing I'd have tested differently for her I think is if she could pull off PD5 instead of just PD4 in Sellas. As far as other maps go, its generally the same map recommendations, just putting Creeping Toxin on the longest flat section of the map.
For Mihile, not terribly much changes. Being able to proc it while invincible might make clustered maps like CLP a bit easier to use, since getting overwhelmed with mob attacks wont just lock you out of reliable hitting the timing.

Hero is pretty much the number 1 warrior period.
i have a lvl 210+ hayato that im loving and i know that the v matrix is trash for them and the jpb is amazing. but im making a hero right now. is hayato better than hero? i know hayato screen kills and i love it. but is hero better? should i main hero rather than hayato?
FYI Instinctual combo is a 2min cd now

2min burst, Burning Soul Blade range removal for the placed summon, and Erda Shower being a placeable usable replacement for Lucid Soul. Nexon is making it mighty tempting to play Hero.
I just created a hero and its at 206 now, but i cannot one hit anything sadly :( levelling up takes so much time
Take advantage of the events, make some link mules, work on legion, get at least 6 - 9% STR on each piece of equipment. Do all your dailies.

I made a hero, lvl 165 simi funded. I’m well hitting well in the milis. 5k str. Loving this class. I’m killing above 11 lvl mobs getting that nice exp rates. I’m stoked to get this class to burn soon. Gonna be a boss mule, maybe even a main.

I don’t think punctures range got changed, just the animation. 90% sure, I may be wrong though.
Hit box increased vertically for sure, can hit 3 platforms in a lot of maps. Hero main predestiny here

Hey, just reached 245 on Adele, which map would you say has best exp/h SSS1, CLP or VC3?
VC3 would be best for exp. SSS1 and CLP are best for lazy rotations.

how do you pick up coins and still get that much exp
Practice and knowing the movement logic behind pets helps quite a bit. I've been playing with normal pets for the past 40 250s at this point, so I've got them pretty well figured out. It's also one of the reasons I don't use VAC pets, since otherwise my loot rotations would be way easier than the average player, and my rotations wouldn't be reliable.

Wings of Destruction (Damiens wings) only available through Black Friday boxes.
are these still viable if you cant 1 or 2 shot the mobs?
General rule of thumb for training is always stay where you can one shot unless its dramatically below your actual level. The rotations would be fine on slower spawn speeds if not one shotting, but not ideal.

Its an old perma totem
He uses a frenzy totem. It's a permanent and stronger totem only available on non-reboot worlds

Burning Soul Blade holds the area back as a whole. There is no real use-case for these maps unless they buff it. Frenzied spawn is just too fast, Arcana gets better kill-rate without being dependent on Burning Soul Blade.
@@Sacrix You could have tried MTS-3 to be honest. Plus I watched a little bit your rotation at esfera. You could probably use the beam skill on 3rd job at other maps. MTS-3 shape would be the best with BSB placed at the right corner of top middle platform. Excellent map for the use of Weapon Aura + the beam skill. And less risk to kill the BSB mobs too.
