- Hi everyone,
Please consider subscribing if you like this type of content and thank you for the support!
Time to take a tour of my Porsche 924 2.0L NA and the work I have completed to date. Also, discuss some of the challenges you may encounter when attempting this work without the comfort of a garage or the air tools that make these jobs so much easier.
That said I walk through some of those challenges facing me and the options I can use to find solutions working on the car from your driveway.

The 924 is getting to look much better everytime
Good video. The 924 is a great car
Thanks Eric for the comment, they are good fun when they are working well, dont think there is much better out there for the money right now 👍
I appreciate your approach and hopefully you can keep up the good work. From Aus
I love my 924 my dash and interior is spot on
Great Video.
Ma man got the exact same Interior as I do.
With the exact same crack on the dashboard. :D
Have you got the classic seat rips too? wouldn't feel right without those cracks on the dash haha, have to love the 80's :)
@@Witty924 Yea my seats where redone I think but the driver's seat ripped again :(
A 924 without a cracked dash is not a real 924 :D
Just discovered this ! I am about to embark on a restoration as well ! There is a common theme on the comments ! Mine has been stood for 14 years so that's not a good place to start !! They are simple and that's a plus !!
Best of luck to you Donal. Great to see another one is due to be saved. Keep us posted on your progress 👍
I'm just about start restoration on my 924. Can't wait to see your finished result!! Good luck with he weather mate!!! 🤣
Thanks buddy, hoping the sun will stick around and I can get the little 924 back on all 4 wheels. Look forward to seeing your restoration too 👍
@@Witty924 my skill set is probably more suited to making it look shiny than major machanical stuff. Luckily I have a brother(moody) who works of Classic Aston Martins for a living. Did I read correctly you're in Hampshire?
@@lazyreefer8749 you are right! Working on classic astons is top price projects. Is he on youtube would be great to see that.
@@Witty924 I hate to say it but he is quite good. He's not on CZcams unfortunately but I might persuade him. Good luck with it all and I might upload some videos of my own. Stay safe. 👍
Hi Witty, 924 looks great mate. I am looking for rocker / lower door decals the same as yours. Where did you get yours?
Cheers,
Barry.
Hi Barry, thanks for the comment. So the guy I got mine from looks to be out of business now, I have sent an email to see if that's the case as his website has closed down. That said these guys look to be fairly well priced. Let me know how you get on :) www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Porsche-924-graphics-decals/124427513787?hash=item1cf8752fbb:g:OhUAAOSwACpfpVxe
@@Witty924 cheers for the reply mate. I got sorted with a guy on one of the 924 owners forums. Trying to reconnect my steering rack. Does the lower knuckle need to be flared open with a chisel or something for it to go down the splines? Cheers 😉
@@barrykavanagh8966 Great to hear Barry. The rack fitting back to the spline can be a little tight. I wire brushed the spline to make sure nothing no dirt was in the spline, then a good spray of lubrication on the spline and rack knuckle, you shouldn't have to open the knuckle up, it's just finding the fit back onto the spline into the same position it came off. The locking bolt will tighten things up again. just a little be of fettling required :)
Great looking car: when it's finished will it be a daily driver or just for special occasions? My 944 is daily driver; enjoy driving it all the time, summer and winter
Hey Dave, thanks for the comment. The aim is to use it at classic car gatherings and to race it in classic sprints and maybe hill climbs. Will definitely be a summertime ride. Just have to get the engine back to life again. I do fancy a 944 next, could be the next project :)
dont make the mistake of putting heavier strength shocks on hatch..thats part of what cause s the seapearation..another thing oil up the bayonets too a hatch
Hey there, I posted some videos of my 83, 944. I commented on another video of yours. Just got my interior sorted. If you watch, hope you enjoy!
Hey pie. Great stuff. I have to get my interior done. The final job 👍 i will check out your vids. Thanks for watching 👍
Hi witty hope you're well and happy with your 924
I wrote to you earlier to ask if you knew of any where
I could get a nut washer piston retainer for my metering head
to keep the piston falling out the head, I have tried without any luck porsche shop and primrose and a few other
places last time I talked to you said you might have a look in your part bin for me I was wondering if I could ask if you can have a look as I can't find one at all it is the last piece I need to get it on the road I would pay what ever you want for it if you have one you are willing to part really hoping you can help as its starting to frustrate thanks Paul.
Hey Paul. I replied to you note before. Drop me your email and we can chat there I may have some bots in the parts bin that could help. Speak soon 👍

What is the red switch to the left of the gear stick for 🚗
It's for the retro pair of yellow tinted front fog lights, the red switch lights up like a fire button too ;)
hi where did you get your decals from?
Hi Mike thanks for the comment. I.found someone locally that reproduces them based on the orginal specs. Mine came from factory with them so when I had a respray a few years back I wanted to keep them and its original look. 👍
@@Witty924 thanks for your reply, im in NZ so I guess that makes it a little harder.
Have just scored an 82 924 and she a honey
@@mikemike-rf7qb great to hear, will do do any vids? Are you on Instagram with the 924?
