That movie was not that much of a comedy more a Drama. Sorry but there are even better german movies Mr. Hiddleston. I ve seen it. I just wonder : WHY was that a funny movie ? Fuck you Göthe 1, Rita Franks: Eberhofer Krimis (not really Thriller) are examples of funny movies to watch. Toni Erdmann ..hhmmm ... i doubt that.
Vielleicht müsste man es auf Englisch anschauen? Oder auf welcher Sprache wurde es in Cannes gezeigt, vielleicht Deutsch mit Untertiteln? Trotzdem interessante Wahl als lustigster Film LOL Ob die Eberhofer Krimis als Nicht-Deutsche überhaupt lustig sind ist fragwürdig. Schließlich bauen 50% der Witze auf dem Sprach-Charme auf ;)
Why? Because China is a totalitarian country, that holds over 1 million people in labour camps, returns North Korean refugees to NK (even though it is common knowledge that any refugees will be tortured and executed, as well as their families with them), knows nothing of human rights. Citizens are being tortured, neglected and killed all while the west just stands and watches and nobody does anything. Or even worse, some countries, organizations and people support all this either directly or indirectly, like BAFTA and Tom here. It is wrong to support a regime like this for any reason, but the reason why us, western countries, do this is terrible in its core. We do it for profit and power, which is absolutely despicable. No amount of money or power or PR should be more important than the rights of living breathing human beings. Nothing is worth that. And as long as we keep turning away from this, we are supporting and the pain and misery that's being inflicted on innocent people.
