I should've never doubted this game when I saw it at E3. It looked like a Wii U port of 3D Land, and I was kinda dissapointed by that. However, after seeing this trailer, my mind was completely changed.

This music hypes up the game big time. On the last levels on the Switch version before I jump to Bowser’s fury.
Nintendo, so many of us - myself included - would gladly pay for a Switch port of this game. I would especially pay if you threw 3D Land in as an added bonus. This game deserves another chance - definitely one of my top 3 Wii U games.

This is hands down my favorite videogame trailer of 2013! Even if I already have the game and I already played all of those levels shown here. I'm still watching it because it's just so damn good and genuine. There's trailers out there where 90% of them are just cutscenes or pre-rendered stuff that it's not on the game in reality but in this trailer everything is in the actual game, plus that song. THAT DAMN JAZZY SONG! So good.

I think this trailer stands out to a lot of people because before this came around, there were a lot of people who were convinced that this was going to be as generic and uninspired as Super Mario 3D Land (based on the first trailer.)

This trailer sold me on the getting the game around when it first came out. No cinematics, no extra fluff, I just got super excited over how fun the gameplay looked.
so excited to play this game tomorrow. I have been a gamer for 20 years now and the first game I ever played was super Mario bros for the NES. Still love these kinds of games.

This is the reason I bought a wii u!! and I am sooo happy with my decision. oh man what an amazing, fun experience!! every level just is filled with magic. I love this game, Nintendo pleeeeasseee keep this up! please keep making these types of games
I know right, ice been playing Nintendo games for almost 13 years now(I'm almost 17) and from every Mario game I've played, each one gets better and better. Mario 3D world had to be the best Mario game ever in my opinion. A ton of worlds, many many stages that all felt brand new from each other. and that final level against bowser have me chills! This is an absolutely amazing game!

After "Super Mario Galaxy 2", every Mario game since was pretty good but not amazing. They felt like apatizers, whereas "Super Mario 3D World" was the main course.

To be quite honest with all of you. While Sony and Microsoft fanboys are now cheering that "next-gen gaming is here" with the PS4 and Xbox One, they fail to realize it's been here when the Wii U came out. While they're trying to knock down the Wii U and always bringing the "graphics are better" card for everything, Nintendo's style of coloring and graphics are just beautiful, top notch, and remind me of a game-styled version of Disney's graphics. And while they're awaiting their games, Nintendo is over here, stacking up their already large catalog of excellent, quality games.
Notice how they say "Mario is played out" because Nintendo makes it? Well if you think about it, Mario has only had 6 major console titles in the past 17 years since 1996 (the rest being side games such as Mario Kart, Mario Party, etc). And with that being said, Super Mario 3D World scored a 9.6 from IGN while Ghosts received 8.8, and A Link Between Worlds received a perfect 10 (I have to remember the site name). So yeah, looks to me Nintendo will keep scoring GOTY with their titles. Not to mention the pretty much definite score above 9.0 nearly across the board for Mario Kart 8, Super Smash Bros. U., and the newest Zelda home console title.

I'm on the same side as you on this matter but it's really not the winning side if they don't sell enough consoles. They won't be able to continue making games purely on the premise that mario and zelda are still the best games out there. I think nintendo should just stick with the handheld and then go into just software for main consoles. If they were selling mario on the ps4 and xbox one, they'd sell a ton.
Dude that will never happen. Yes the handhelds on Nintendo always sell. But if you honestly think that Mario should be sold to Playstation and Microsoft then you are crazy.
Well not sold TO them. Nintendo would keep control of the IPs, they'd just release them on all consoles. It's not at all crazy, it's essentially what happened to Sega. It depends on how the sales in the next 5 years pan out. If you think that a console is about the price of 5 games, if the xbox and ps4 combined sell more than 5 times the wiiU (which looks likely at the moment), it'll start to look like a very appealing option. (there are obviously a lot more factors involved, but that's the general outline financially)
Mario on playstation and Xbox? Yeah keep dreaming. And Nintendo has a lot more than just 5 games. And it even has more in store for us in 2014. Besides you don't see playstation porting over Killzone 4 do you. You don't see Xbox porting over halo do you? Playstation decided to port over kingdom hearts 3 and final fantasy 15 to Xbox 1 but not the Wii U. So why should Nintendo port over Mario
There's no use just saying "keep dreaming". You could've said the same about sonic in the early 90s. It all comes down to the money, nothing more.
And you missed the point of what I was saying. I wasn't saying they only have 5 games. I was saying that if they could sell more than 5 times as many games by releasing on ps and xbox, they'd be doing better financially than if they stick with their own consoles. If it gets to that point, any other arguments you want to make just become irrelevant.

I would love it if Nintendo makes another game with this kind of play-style. I'm assuming the next game with this gameplay would be called Super Mario 3D Universe! The New Super Mario Bros series are getting rather repetitive, but I love 3D Land and World's style. I especially love the fact that Mario and his friends make an awesome group, just like in the days of Super Mario Bros 2!

I remember playing this. I HAD A BLAST it was absolutely stunning! it took FOREVER to unlock the secret level, but i was so happy when i did. This game was marvellous and i remember each level so well.
I bought this game for my 7 and 5 year old cousins back in 2014 on Christmas. They were screaming of joy and everytime I visit them we'd play it. We beat the game last year so it's been a while, however we still play it. It's such a fun game and they love it :D

I believe that we're ALL hoping for that. I can tell this game is amazing, but I never owned a Wii U. It was a flop but still had some great games. So I'm glad that Nintendo is porting because it's allowing great games to get the credit that they deserve. I'm kinda surprised that they haven't done this one by now though but they did Mario Kart 8 & NSMBU so hope and pray!!! It would be AMAZING to play both this game AND Super Mario Odyssey :-) & it would seriously help Nintendo!!

@@Alex-oc1fu Well 3D Land is for the 3DS. It's not as good as 3D World, which is an upgraded version of 3D Land, the sequel after working out the kinks. It's pretty nice too though & so I was quite disappointed when I saw that I couldnt get it on the 3DS either
