Game is 11/10. I rented it like 3 times then decided that I should really just buy it because it's just that darn good.
I really respect Nintendo for being the only company still making creative, thoughtful games suitable for kids/families. It's hard for parents when the biggest games out there now are GTA, Call of Duty, Fifa etc.

Yeah, my brother won't let his son near a Playstation or Xbox, because they're full of 18+ / M rated games. So he get's him Nintendo systems.
You could argue these games are more challenging too in that you have to think about puzzles etc. I breezed through GTA5 in about 2 weeks, but it's been about 11 years and I still haven't beaten Zelda: The Windwaker
Kieran Etoria-King I agree. It seems to me that the majority of games nowadays are made with the intention of the player seeing the story that the developer has come up with. Nintendo on the other hand, makes games with the intention of testing the player to overcome the challenges.

Man, back in 2013. I never owned a Wii U and when I learned about this game, I wanted it immediately because of the HD. I thought 3D Land was sucky with graphics, but I still liked it. Anyways, seeing it made me excited, especially with the HD, lighting, and effects. I actually never got a Wii U or this game, so it made me sad. 7 years later (2021 is coming) it's coming to the Switch where I own one. Now, it truly is an epic miracle.
I really want this amazing game brought to the Nintendo Switch!

This game looks... REALLY good. I'm so glad Nintendo is making new Mario games with original and innovative concepts instead of the soul-less New Super Mario Bros. series.
That is exactly what I was saying. The New Super Mario Bros sold a lot but to many of us old school gamers, offer nothing really new. This game looks to be awesome enough to justify getting a Wii U.

the thing i like the most about this game is the fact that it marks some innovations (new power ups, multiplayer in a totally 3d world etc), but still it adopts features of the past, like the possibility to choose 4 different characters (the 4 from super mario bros 2), each with a particular ability :)

The trailer that made everyone realize that this game wasn't just going to be Super Mario 3D Land HD.
Let me just say this game looks amazing. I'm really glad I got my Wii U a couple weeks ago. There are a lot of great games coming this Holiday season and in 2014 for the Wii U. I hope people don't overlook it this Holiday season.
i havent been this much excited for a super mario game in like, EVERRRR! lol i would say that my hype for this game is on the same level with games like assassins creed 4 and watchdogs! lol maybe even more than other ps4 and xbox one launch games

to everyone who cried because of how “bad” it was: I thought this game was FANTASTIC! Sure it was only a half 3D (3D but with 2D like gameplay) but it was really awesome. I thought the level designs were great and memorable, especially the bowser fight. I guess im in the minority who thinks its good, but I loved this game so much.

Some people say the steam box will kill the Wii U. Yeah, they wish...
I already have a high end gaming PC and I still love my Wii U and 3DS XL. I mean, given that the Steam Box is just a PC made for casuals that are too lazy or ignorant to set up a normal PC I don't see why it would affect it.
Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of the Steam Box. It's just that in a perfect world dumbing something down for casuals wouldn't be necessary.

Note that Super Mario Bros. 2, outside of Japan at least, featured Peach as playable and it's what many of the individual character mechanics in this game were based on. 3D World may as well be a 3D sequel to Super Mario Bros. 2.

@@sonicseztrapsaregay4249 Honestly I'd rather they had simply not ported either game to the Switch. I was praying that Nintendo would apply the same creativity for a 2D Mario, that they did with Odyssey, and instead they basically came out and said 2D Mario is dead.

The switch port is an improvement because some stamps and green stars have new methods of being obtained due to the addition of the midair roll or due to green stars and stamps now being saved upon dying
