"Parsley, sage , rosemary and thyme " is a line from the old folk song ( English) called Scarborough Fair , made famous by Simon and Garfunkel who mashed it together with a modern song and made a classic early 70s track from them.

I like the term word nerd as referred to myself. Also I think it was a clue on a mini crossword wasn't it where "word" was on a row and nerd what is on a column and linked to word? I solved the strands but I had to use more than the usual number of hints for me (which was 3)!

I got really lucky today with Wordle; Sefer (randomized) - Level - Bevel. Allie isn't really the name I think of either when I think of a nickname for someone named Alexandra. I didn't do well on Strands, I think I only knew 4 of them; Twain (Shania), Swift (Taylor), Urban (Keith), Cash (Johnny, obv). I don't go out of my way to listen to country music but those names are pretty big in general in the music sphere.

Parsley SAGE rosemary and thyme is a song by Simon and Garfunkel. It might be a very old folk song i think.

I'm *VERY* late today (had a rough day yesterday) but better late than never, I say! I didn't know BEZEL was a word; I thought you were thinking of EMBEZZLE 😅
I struggled a bit with the Mini, but did get it eventually. Allie is a nickname for Alexandra but I've always seen it spelled Ally. you may often see old witches described in literature as "wizened", meaning they are shriveled and old.
I'm not a fan of country music but knew all the country stars for some reason. I think it's because I keep up with pop culture, for the most part. thanks for the video, Kenny! 😃

My daughter’s name is Alexandria. And although I do call her Allie it was not my first thought for 2 down in the mini. I was stuck with Alex but knew it didn’t fit and had to solve the rest of it first before guessing it.

I figured it out that it was Allie but I have never heard Allie was short for Alexandra. I would think Lexie, Alexa, Alex before I thought Allie.

Brad Paisley seems to have been born with that name and it likely links to the large town near Glasgow of that name. Paisley had a large textile industry and shawls were imported from India with bright swirly patterns that were copied onto fabrics , carpets etc and the pattern became known as paisley which is why I presume the word appears in Strands but not necessarily as a proper noun.
Odd that Garth Brooks outsold Elvis Presley - but seems slightly less well known !
Keith Urban happens to be married to Nicole Kidman !

Wizen is pronounce like whizz-en. It's usually spell like Wizened so the adjective is a lot common than the verb so wordle wouldn't accept "wizen" as an answer. And yes it do refer to someone of an old age with wrinkles.

For the first time I got the purple one early, it was the second one I got and the first was the blue one. The green one was the hardest for me couldn't figure it out even at the end. 2 down in Crossword is a scam, Alexa should've been the only answer

Wordle was difficult for me today.
And I got the same issue with the mini. Why would Allie be a nickname for Alexandria instead of Alex or Alexa?
And I gave up on strands today. I know nothing about country

The film star Ali McGraw (in Love Story ) spells Allie differently. I have no idea if she is an Alexandra. I started off going for Sandy as it's short for both Alexander and Alexandra.
It was unlikely to Alexa as those exact letters and sequence appear in the clue in a block, although in cryptic crosswords the answer can be hidden across several words.
eg "The girl after her reversal exacted her price" might clue for Alexa.
Good job you twigged that the volcano action had to end in s to match the part of speech etc. I think the adjective " wizened " is more common than the verb wizen.
