Although this game was great, I somehow wished it wasn't rushed back then. I can only imagine what it would've been like if Black Box was given more time adding more content, completing it's entire map, refine some gameplay elements and etc.
Yeah, that's why games like GTA V are so successful because the developers release the game when it's actually finished.

Also with Prostreet a completely different style and engine they made in 1 year only thing that Prostreet lacked a story and was just smacked together while you could say the same thing about carbon. And if carbon was worked on for longer the “mystery city” would exist and actually have more play time I mean you seen how short this game is? You could probably finish it in 2-4 hour’s. More crews were going to be added and even helicopters for pursuit chases I guess ea wanted to cash into Most Wanted and rushed the team and cutting time for more.

@Oskar Kasprzyk I'm trying to put nfs carbon on a Windows 10, and oh boy if isn't a challenge, already needed to swap coding and insert lots of things in the files so that it works, it worked yesterday but in the second time it doesn't load the profile, now I need a profile editor...Its really sad that it doesn't have support on pc. It's still available in Xbox 360's store though
@@DarkNymph idk if you're against pirating but the repack by RG mechanics is basically flawless. Well for the collectors edition, I'm not sure if you're trying to get the beta working or full game though
I love how the free roam music is on the races, they should have done that in the final release

Map itself was always meant to be like final Palmont. Early concept art for the map that we have found cofirms it was always meant to be exactly as it is in final game. You can see the final map in the intro and files of PS2 demo too.
What you see as the "map" in the demo is a messy mockup for DEMO explicit purpose so they have all events bunched into a territory you can take without having to store a chunk of final map.
For this very reason you have nonsensical inclusion of canyon route and san juan in the middle of this fake map.
And it is fake because it was never meant to be Carbons world map, not that its not officially made content.

You're partly right, but it's not quite so.
That the "beta map" was only used for the demo is absurd.
The logical thing is to think that this map was a VERY early concept of the game that did not take long to discard. That map was going to have some purpose, it's stupid to think that they are going to design such a complex map only for a demo. They probably recycled the old map for the demo because the new map was done, but the city was not modeled yet (or not totally at least).
That was probably the reason they used the old map.
Don't call it fake, because the map is real and was once part of the game in its earliest stages of development. That it was discarded shortly after does not mean that it is false.
Also, there are parts of the beta map that match the new map, so I wouldn't say they didn't get to any use in game developement. Most likely, it did have a use, but it was soon interrupted when they saw that the map was too complex.
The map drawn showing Palmont City concept made by design team is not known exactly when it was made. It was probably made after the beta map, with the intention of changing its design and making it easier for developers.

Map of Palmont was the same from the very start, earliest concept before they even had a road layout looks identical to final Palmont arrangement wise except doe Airport that was scrapped. It predates the demo and was drawn when MW05 was still in its development before they had a name for Carbon and it was refered to as NFS 07.
We also have earliest map road layout design test from Felipe's video of asian x360 nfs carbon release test tracks called NG(next gen) map Test and it has incredibly early road layout for Downtown palmont it predates the demo by months.
Demo map is made from fjnal palmont bits, san juan and look out point specificly to showcase territorh controls without using Palmont city, so demo fits on a CD and they had only san juan, drift track and lookoutpoint which is what 3 regions on the map that we capture during the demo.
Rest of it is heavily editer Silverton, downtown, fortuna and kempton to make for a decent background scenery without revealing final city.
If you want to see map.with canyons properly integrated i am working on a map.yhat combines all blackbox cities into one combined map.
You can think of it as NFS World as it should have been.
It included my updated version of geographicly accurate Palmont(its not based of Mostwanted2011's map i done it from scratch myself as his map had tons of errors)
My concept for freeroamable Olympic City aswell as cut Alpine region from NFS Most Wanted that was there before they added Rockport downtown instead. And the airport that was still on the maps until late development.

I clocked this game so many times on my ps2 I wish this was backwards compatible on Xbox one I'd definitely buy it again just for nostalgia. And I remember that map at the end of demo as I'm older I thought hmm that must've been bigger probably had more bosses too etc probably more car's as well so I agree that the devs had more time this game would have more.

if to be honest, simple music is no longer suitable for crew racing, it's good that the composers wrote as many as three musical themes for crew racers for final version

@Bread Slasher There was no NFS game in 2016. There was 2015 one, and WAS NOT a "recover", same exact dog shit as Rivals, maybe even worse. Heat, yes, was the best NFS game from Ghost Entertainment ever, tho still not that perfect. Shame is that we won't get any more updates for Heat. Payback? Personally, i don't hate that game that much as everyone else does. Gameplay was fine, but the lack of police killed it for me, I finished it in 2 days, but I had fun while playing it. Unlike 2015, where it was more like a homework than a game, it was so boring. 2015 had (for me) ground breaking graphics, the world was so pretty, but that is pretty much it.
@Bread Slasher Rivals was jack shit, the black ship, only kids would like it. 2015, nah I might have been too harsh on that game, it was enjoyable a little bit, driving mechanics and racing were okay I suppose, but cops?... Not even a letter C out of cops, it was that bad, and you probably know it. Still, it is a very bad game in terms of NFS. :D

I remember playing this demo on my uncle's xbox 360 when I was a young
If you look at the background and the game logo in the PS2 Demo version, there are scenes linked to the mystery city silvertone and the beta logo. When you finish the game, pay attention to the last screenshot, the end of the canyon reaches into the city of Palmont, which you see on the right at the lookout point, and if you pay attention to the right side of the road on the lower side, the road goes from the canyon to the right and these are connected to the desert mountains.
XBOX 360 and PC Demo versions are actually a finished version. The mystery city you see in the game actually belongs to beta palmont city and none of the races take place in the city of mystery city. All races are placed from the places in the finals.
@@java2344 No it isnt part of Palmont it was just scenery bit from earliest concept drawing ever made for the game and Palmont was always the Same as in final, same layout with Silverton, Fortuna, Kempton and Downtown. That map you see at the end is fake mashup made SPECIFICLY for the Demo and nothing else, just so they could show off territory control with as little assets as possible, using San Juan, Drift Track and Lookoutpoint and they wanted that cobbled together in close proximity.
The canyon race with the car the dev chose exactly for you shows how the races are actually supposed to go. People on youtube just pass the car so easily I don't think that was exactly intended.
Maybe in beta, kenji still drive tuner car but wolf drive muscle car, angie drive exotic car and darius are used to drive a tuner car same like kenji. The cars we used to defeat kenji actually wolf,angie and darius cars

This is different than I remember. I played the PS2 version of the demo.
The PS2 demo is different though as it was the first version they developed for. The demo you see here is the final one on Xbox 360 and PC.
You can also look for Beta related content about NFSC and you'll see that there's lots of stuff from the PS2 version ^^

Only the PS2 demo version had car shadows :D. No other version did so

1) Carbon's original map from the demo which was so large and had san juan & the canyon routes integrated to it.
2) The mysteries regarding the geography of carbon(like mystery city)
3) The mysteries in the plot of carbon(like the cadillac driver who let u escape from the cops in the beginning)
4) Where the unfinished bridge in MW leads to
5) Where does the drift course, san juan & canyon routes actually exist in the game universe?
6) Player's Aston Martin & Darius's Supra
7) LeSamurai
8) Does the player exist in NFS Prostreet universe?(darius's supra easter egg)
9) Is there a connection between Rockport & Palmont ?
10) The story of the player pre-carbon era(before MW era)
I like the idea u getting at here, but I don’t think EA would ever remaster most wanted and carbon because they were developed by black box and that studio was closed in 2013
let me say, i remember when i was younger i played the career drift mode and encountered the cops, it sent me to free roam after i was done. I decided to Explore and found out that there is No routes leading to the Main map so i think they might be located outside the game's map border.
All blackbox games are set in the same universe except the run

@@UnstoppableEmpire apparently there is a software called "AMZ recorder", which works with USB only. But it looks a bit shady to be honest, so not sure if you should use it
another way would be, if you have access to an xbox one, to play the xbox 360 game on that (if it is backward compatible) and use the built in record software. But afaik there is no other option on xbox 360 (but I never cared too much about recording anyway, so maybe someone else knows more)
