    My bonsai apprentice Lee is demonstrating how to make and repot miniature rose bonsai trees. 我的小徒弟示範如何製作(換盆)小玫瑰盆栽。
    Two different sizes of bonsai will be made - shohin and mame bonsai. 這裡有兩種盆栽,小品及豆盆盆栽。
    Miniature roses are great to use for bonsai because of their thick trunks, small leaves, and beautiful small roses. They are also fast-growing and perfect for bonsai beginners. 小玫瑰非常適合做盆栽因為它們粗厚的樹幹、小小的葉子還有美麗的小花朵,而且它們生長的速度很快非常適合盆栽初學者。

      Yes, that is why it is best to do so just before spring when the tree is about to grow (Active).

    care to explain why not to use a rectangular pot?

    • @JackLinBonsai
      @JackLinBonsai  Před 7 měsíci

      Because Lee wanted to use shiny bright color pots and our rectangle pots are all brown. 😃

    Nice video! Why do you remove the leaves?

      @JackLinBonsai  Před 2 lety +1

      Repoting a tree can be stressful for the tree. Removing some leaves can reduce that. 😁

      I have had to reduce to the stem. (on some of my dwarf rose's) I have learned that they don't like full sun. I try to keep them free of wilted and yellow leaves. On my front porch facing north. I really hope that they will do OK. Love your channel

    What is the preferred Rose species for this kind of work?, would something like the “Knock Out” roses work? (I think the botanical name is Radwhite PP 20, 273).
    Following 🙂

      Thank you for watching our videos! Well, the roses that we have belongs "Rosaceae family". It is also shrub-type Miniature Roses, so making it into bonsai style is great. As long as you maintain it. I can't guarantee other types of roses are suitable for this technique. I never tried Radwhite PP before. I insist you try. It may not work as a small bonsai but maybe a large bonsai as it has larger leaves and blooms. I hope this helps. 😁

      Thank you @@JackLinBonsai
      I found a couple examples produced by a company called Knock out, they are advertised as miniature roses and are fairly inexpensive.
      Again, thanks!!!
