I've been a loyal subscriber for years and have often wanted to share my thoughts on your videos but never wanted to come across as disrespectful by giving unsolicited opinions. Here are some of my thoughts:
I think I speak for many when I say that I love how you stand out from typical J-vloggers by focusing on your life in Japan rather than just top ten lists and interviews. Some of the videos I've enjoyed the most, which also seem to perform well on your channel, include:
1. Your trips and ventures around Japan.
2. POV videos, like "day in the life" segments.
3. Apartment and house hunting videos - the golden content for Japan enthusiasts.
4. Productivity and work-focused videos - "a day in the life" of your work routine.
While I appreciate your passion for your animals and garden, those segments are starting to feel repetitive. These might be better suited for Instagram stories rather than taking up significant portions of your weekly vlogs, which are typically around fifteen minutes long. I love seeing your pets and plants, but the main draw for many of us is seeing the unique aspects of a Black woman's life thriving in Japan.
Despite living in Japan for almost ten years, we rarely see the raw moments of your interactions with Japanese people in various settings like convenience stores, cafes, and hotels. Even though you're not fluent in the language, that's precisely the content many of us are eager to see - how you navigate daily life in Japan despite the language barrier. This kind of content is both educational and entertaining.
Additionally, you often mention having a lot of work to do, but it would be great if you could take us through your workflow. Show us more about what you do, who you work with, and the details of your projects. Sharing the "who, what, when, where, and why" of your work would be incredibly inspiring. Many of us are fascinated by how you've managed to build and sustain a life in Japan, and seeing the details of your grind would be motivating.
Here are a few more suggestions:
1. Cultural Experiences: Create videos that explore Japanese culture from your perspective. This could include festivals, traditional practices, and local customs that you encounter in your daily life.
2. Personal Stories: Share more personal stories and experiences from your time in Japan. This could include funny anecdotes, memorable moments, or significant milestones in your life there.
3. Challenges and Q&A: Engage with your audience by doing challenges they suggest or holding Q&A sessions where you answer their questions about life in Japan, your experiences, and any other topics they are curious about.
4. Mental Health and Self-Care: Discuss how you manage your mental health and self-care while living abroad. This can be incredibly relatable and helpful for viewers who are also living away from home or considering it.
5. Viewers’ Choice: Occasionally let your subscribers vote on what type of content they want to see next. This can increase engagement and ensure you're providing content that your audience is most interested in.

WoW! Very well said! I am also what I like to call a silent audience member. I very rarely comment or interact with the videos I watch. I will say that I actually do love seeing the animals and as someone with a garden, I like seeing how hers is coming along. That being said, I 100% agree with all of your other feedback! I would be ok with her spreading out the garden updates, for more videos of her interacting with Japanese society. Even if it is just showing her ordering, and simple interactions. I love seeing people as they grow, especially someone who has stated that she has a reading disability. It is inspiring to see!

I have loved all the videos. My favourites are the ones that motivate us to work hard! Anything about your businesses, goals, those reno series, etc. are amazing. I also love any time you work in cafes lol, they help me get shit done too so it's just neat to see.

I was in Japan last July and I was happy when it rained because you get a little bit of relief from the humidity. It is so stinking hot and humid, to the point it will distract you from your activities.
The Juneteeth outfit was everything. You looked great and reflected your personality.
Anything you upload involving productivity/inspiration/doing tough and not fun work in order to chase your dreams - that always helped me a ton!
Trains!!! I fell in LOVE with trains when I was in Japan! In Arizona we don't really have them lol, the light rail does NOT count 😂 doesn't have to be facts about them but maybe some more awesome shots of them in a travel video? I always love the train shots you do have in your videos.

Omg this was so awesome to see. I live in Okinawa and the hubby and I went to our first Juneteenth festival on the island this past weekend (we kept missing it due to vacations) and we had a blast, it was right off the beach and people from all walks of life showed up it was nice. I cracked up when “Before I Let Go” played in your video because they played it at ours too and of course folks were doing “The Electric Slide” and the people who pledged in college did they’re line moves too. It would be really nice to go to a Juneteenth in mainland too, we’ve already met the owners of Soul Food house so we’d see some familiar faces and who knows we may have known some other folks there too. Your dress with the belt and scarf came out so cute, if you didn’t say it was a belt I wouldn’t have known.

4:32 these are two of my FAVORITE Sundai videos. They are my husband’s favorites too. They were so beautifully edited and just a joy to watch. I rewatch them often
The intro was fantastic too. You could feel the excitement in them. My favorite part of one of the videos was the recreating of the anime scene 😂💜 it was so cute and funny.
