    The finale was absolutely insane. So extremely insane, my jaw dropped and stayed on the ground for a whole long time after the episode, and I was crying and my heart was all over the place, all over the place. Louis crying over Lestat is going to haunt me forever and then... and THEN... THE FINAL PLOT TWIST. I kind of caught some of the crumbs around and then I started thinking all manner of Armand thoughts and panicking and freaking out and then! And then! I am now not any better AAAAAAAAAA

    I'm soooo worried that Rashid/Armand is using his 'mind gift' on Louis, as Louis doesn't seem 'all there' when he says that he's the love of his life. Like his words don't match his expression.
    And so now I wonder if Armand has been messing with his memories and controlling him (and the narrative) for whatever reason! I was just like 'Blink twice if you need help, Louis!'.
    Definitely going to be interesting to see how this pans out!

      I def think Armand is up to something! Especially if they’re going by the book and his role in Claudia’s death.
      I’m curious as to how part 2 will play out. How Louis meets Armand and when he sunk his fangs into him. We shall see…

    • @TheNaughtyLibrarian
      @TheNaughtyLibrarian  Před rokem +8

      There's defintiely some level of control here. At the very least it would be a love triangle situation with Lestat. Unless they are just going to go in a completely new direction all together.

    • @FireWolf583
      @FireWolf583 Před 10 měsíci +5

      He's definitely controlling Louis in some way, for one all the books are out of reach unless Louis asks Armand to use his powers to get them. Claudia's diary is missing pages which says that Armand may have ripped them out due to the knowledge that Louis originally planned to save Louis and stay with him. Then you got the fact in two different episodes, Louis couldn't remember certain details like the weather when he met someone for a fling.
      It's so sad because Louis is clearly mentally broken by all the trauma and has been the victim of abuse and manipulation. Now you have Armand fucking around with Louis' mind and making him co- dependent on Armand.

  • @bluboy4ver2
    @bluboy4ver2 Před rokem +19

    I love what they are doing with the show and for book fans they've added so many little twist and bread crumbs to follow up on after an initial viewing of the show.
    The visual imagery in this show is so telling because in this episode as Louis is talking about the night he and Claudia "kill" Lestat we see them at the Mardi Gras ball dressed in all white like it's their wedding night. Louis even makes a point that so much was written about that night except he and Lestat's dance and very public kiss.
    Contrast all that with Louis standing next to Armand in the final scene. Armand standing a step higher than Louis symbolizing they aren't on equal footing. Armand and Louis have been wearing black all season like if in mourning and Louis refers to their penthouse as a coffin.
    Due to Louis's inconsistencies in remembering details about his past and how he's told Daniel two different stories it's possible Armand has been using the mind and spell gift on Louis to alter his memories.
    He definitely used them on Daniel in the first Interview because Louis pointed out Daniel didn't remember Armand saved him, which make me think Daniel broke Armand's spell on Louis then.
    I'm also wondering if after that first Interview if there was some version of Devil's Minion but instead of Armand eventually turning Daniel into a vampire, he let Daniel go and altered or erased his memory of him.
    It would explains Armand's pained expression when Louis told Daniel he'd give him the Dark Gift now and how quickly Armand stepped in when Louis used the mind Gift on Daniel for talking about Claudia's assault.
    I'm thinking the show is remixing the 1st trilogy of the Vampire Chronicles with the Prince Lestat trilogy, which would make sense because it's where all the central conflict happens and there's a 30 year or so gap between those books.

    • @TheNaughtyLibrarian
      @TheNaughtyLibrarian  Před rokem +5

      There's so many places the show can go and possibilities with the relationship between Armand and Louis. The most basic thing it will do is cause a love triangle when Lestat finally shows up again. Which... honestly, I'm so down to see that drama play out. haha

    • @bluboy4ver2
      @bluboy4ver2 Před rokem +4

      @@TheNaughtyLibrarian I’m very much excited to see the Lestat,Louis and Armand drama unfold.
      Louis and Armand are kinda giving me “If you can’t be with the one you love, love the one your with” vibe.
      I thought about when Louis told Daniel that he would turn him now if he asked and how upset Armand got. If Daniel and Armand do have a past like they did in the books that would make this all so messy and I can’t wait. 😂

    The only bread crumb I really needed was in episode 2, when Daniel read the artist of the painting and said Marius de Romanus. I thought why would Louis have that in particular, The Vampire Armand's maker. And we knew he was a vampire when he read Louis from another room when he making Daniel's hand bang. Also, when he and Louis were speaking with their minds, in 6 when he asked Rashid if he was awake, he said I can be. Then he appeared in Daniel's dream and had not aged.
    Call 911, Louis is being held hostage.
    Antoinette was the female version of Antione, one of Lestat's fledglings.

    I did not want to like this series. I'm a huge fan of the books. I wouldn't even watch the trailer. I slammed it online in Reddit and chimed in on CZcams fan groups. Boo! How dare they change the time period, the costumes, Claudia's age.... A second interview in Dubai with Daniel at age 65?? Terrible! Sacrilege!
    Until one night a month ago. I was bored, or maybe a little interested? I watched it once. Noticed the nods and Easter eggs; Nikki's music box, the painting in Armands apartment, the lines quoted from the books told so beautifully on balconies, a French speaking music loving Lestate, a black family living in America's south, Baby Jenks laid over a young girl named Claudia. Yes.... I have been seduced by this series. It is magnificent. Sam Reids voice singing "Come to Me" plays in my car when I'm driving home from work alone late at night. I've got it bad.
    It's sad how the negative reviews are from old vampires like me who can not let go of the age they were born in and embrace the new age and updated source material that so desperately needed it. I actually found this series to fill Anne's plot holes and flesh out her characters. Louis is no longer weak and one dimensional. Those long historic chapters can be told by the set designers.
    I have so many theories on how they will take this story forward.

    That plot twist towards the end was such an ingenious ploy by the writers; Rashid, the lanky assistant transforming into an ancient vampire horror was a grand performance by Assad Zaman! I also caught the Those Who Must Be Kept easter egg, in the novel Enkil almost killed Lestat! Marius in the books, was kind of Lestat's adoptive maker because he met Lestat not long after the latter's transformation.

  • @Juleru
    @Juleru Před rokem +5

    A couple of corrections:
    - Fire... not even that's a sure death. Marius was burnt badly but he survived.
    - Armand is a redhead and he was turned in the late 15th century, not in 1599.
    - Antoinette does exist in the book in a way but the character doesn't get a name until later: Antoine. He's Lestat's "friend" and he helped him after the attack but he had nothing to do with it.
    A big hint about Armand: The painting by Marius (who's Armand's maker) in episode 2.

Daniel questioned rashid about praying, he also picked up on the conversation that Rashid was from someplace other than the Middle East when he suggested that something that pointed to Eastern Europe, specifically Kasikstan or Crimea.When Daniel woke up from the 70's flashback/dream, I suspected that Armand was a vampire.

    The finale was great. Lestat had the nerve to call Antoinette his love and turned her into a vampire !! The crazy part is he wanted her to replace Claudia smh Even if she joined the family, Louis would be more depressed and eventually kill himself.
    The present Louis has major PTSD and still love with his abuser. It also looks like his memories may have been altered. Was anyone else creeped out how Armand grabbed Louis hand and floating above him? Another red flag is the fact the books are so high up and Louis likes to read but can't fly. Louis also looked like he forced smile after calling Armand which is sad.

    • @TheNaughtyLibrarian
