- This is a video chronicling my project to make a free standing Wave Master style punching bag for $60. Please keep in mind that I do not accept any responsibility for injuries or harms that may befall you should you attempt to copy what I demo here. This is a DIY project... attempt at your own risk.
Nicely done. If I may suggest, place on a mat and pour a 80 lb of cement into the tire or one in both tires. The center of gravity will increase tremendously.
This is so amazing Simon. I have been looking for this kind of design. Thanks a million.!
A pleasure. Good luck
The rock hammer, oh my god 😂
What I'm getting from this is... just save up and buy a bag
Could you send me $600 for a strong standing punch bag?
Thanks
Love the share and the way the design developed.
This is perfect idea. I hope i can re-create for our taekwondo class. We live in a third world country so dont judge.Thank you Sabum.Wish you much success.
I am still using this to this day. However I learned that wrapping the foam in a cloth or tarp makes it last longer and not crack between the tape strips
Very innovative!
I received your book, hardcover version, as a Christmas present. Great read! Love your channel, it is helping me a lot with my training. I'm only a white belt, but I enjoy the challenge!
I am so honored that you like the channel and enjoyed my book! I am sure you will do well on your martial journey. Keep me informed on how it goes.
That is awesome. I am psyched you have read my book and that it has helped you. Keep with your training. Let me know how it goes. Good luck.
Thanks Simon, This video is going to help a lot to make a Punching stand for my Dojo
my pleasure. Though I advice putting a tarp around it, I am working on adding that to mine as sometimes when I hit really hard the duct tape rips.
This was really good man. . . worth commenting on. . . really good.
Thank you, I am honored. It was a fun project.
Wonderful. I, also, enjoy making gear.
Thank you for this Simon!
lol, my pleasure!
Just pour concrete in the tire. Won't tip and no need to construct a miniature city in your tire.
Hi Simon! Will you be uploading any standing bag punching/kicking tutorials or workouts in the future? Thanks!
Love how u got no shoes on while using the drill 😂
Thanks! I like to live on the edge 😜
I've cut ties in half and screw them to the back of the garage , one head height and a couple down lower for kicks . That works well . The tire gives enuff...couple sand bags in your tires may hold it down better. .my son is at that age . I need to make him somthing like this because my stomach ain't as hard as it use to be and my arms are getting pretty sore ... it's time he beats on a bag , I want to make one indoor friendly. I can place it on a rug or mat.i made one outside I wrapped a round fence post in a couple layers of carpet nailing them down , and taped a bunch of shit like old close and blankets to it then wrapped that with plastic so it wouldn't get wet . Pretty ruff on the knuckles. Newd leather gloves . But it worked.
Many many thanks
thanks for posting have a homemade cable pully system using garagedoor pullys and cables have a homemade squat rack and a homemade bag stand ... love do it yourselfers
You sound like a really cool fellow. Are all of your projects working well?

Hi simon. Always use security devices like glasses and protective shoes.
so true!
Simon! Chris from Hugos, that was big fun helping you film in the bar tonight. I'll sub you with my real UTOOB profile.
Hi Chris. That was fun! I really appreciated your help. Thanks so much! I’ll see you soon when I stop by for a drink. 😀
Flintstones tech :)))
I might do the same but feel tires with concrete
Ty
Fill the bottom tyre with cement...
A little more weight below would help reduce wobble. The more weight you add up top the more it is likely to fall over. Generally a solid concept though.
So where did you find the foam and how much was it lol it's so hard to find
I have a friend who works at a mattress factory. They were throwing away scraps and let me take a few rolls.
Likely better to insert a wooden square block in the base, add on two wooden slats in an + shape, secure with 4-6 screws on the base. Then you have the weight of both tyres holding it down?
Sounds like it would work
Nice. Here,s a suggestion for next time: Attach fins to wood 4x4 (like rocket fins) that are the radius of the tire, screw them all to wooden base on floor, slide tire over pole and fins, screw that to base and to fins, slide second tire over pole, screw that to first tire and to fins, drop in sand bags, then add foam etc.
Then kick it til it vomits foam. :-)
Smart!
Nice nice very nice
Niiice!
Thanks
You freaking genius, actually I get some really good ideas from this.
running a gym/training but cant afford equipment or even a hammer?
😜 lmao u sir made a mad mans day😀
Can I wrap a lot of foam around a tree ??
Pls answer
YOu could but I would not recommend it. The lack of give could hurt your joints.
Cool...but with the amount of time and money you spent, could you not have just bought one? Just curious
Maybe a used one. But definitely not one as stable or tall.
How about seal the bottom and fill with something heavier?
That is a great idea!
Like water.
Screw the tires together and screw that onto some plywood. Fill that with cement with the pole in the middle and wrap with what you like and go to town on it!
So this is how you made that
bro honestly just buy the bag at that point
Hilarious 😂😂😂
Aku juga ingin buat standing bag
Hi
try filling with paper
How much money will it cost?
Depends on what you have access to. If you have or can get free old popped tires and a used discarded fense post. And if you have two metal rods, and if a friend of yours works at a mattress factory and has extra rolls of foam in his basement. Then it will only cost 5$ for duct tape if you get off brand factory reject duct tape from acme surplus or online in bulk.
@@simonscher5413 thank you sir...How durable it is..and I am a taekwondoin
good idea. please don't be so flat footed, thank you
I think I'll make one of those.... But, I'll use a 4 by 4, an old tire with a wood base attached to the tire and 4 by 4.... then I'll fill the tire with cement... 90lb bag of cement $5 bucks or so... Then I'll rap the 4 by 4 with an old carpet then duct tape it to death...
very cool! I cannot wait to see how it comes out. Please tag me in the pics.
800th like
I’m gonna use a real hammer not a rock.
*uses a bigger rock 😂*
y tho
Hamer myvfroend knock hamer
You might not wanna be barefooted where you're doing drilling, or for that matter any kind of work involving shards on the ground, or heavy parts. I'm just saying. :)
what lol
