      @@HoopIntellect new to your channel and I really like your format for your videos, but I find that I have to remind or pause the video to read what you have at the bottom to see exactly what your trying to highlight within the clips you are playing. So maybe some audio commentary for who you think will go top 10 or lottery picks. Then on other videos you when you switch from highlighting one aspect of their game to another you could make it more known. For example when you go from defensive potential to post moves/ attacking the rim you could flash back to the point where you listed the strengths and highlight then your are transitioning to the next category.

      But... he's not even really a power forward. I see closer to a Demar Derozan to Tracy McGrady type, but he could end up playing more small ball 4 in the mold of a Gerald Wallace or Shawn Marion, I guess...
      His shot development could really dictate the way his entire game goes. My guess is an average ish shooter at his peak, averaging around 15-18, 6.5, 3, 1, & 1.
      Edit: I forgot to throw in a peak Rudy Gay as a potential projection. I feel like a less steady shooting, better defending Rudy Gay is Kuminga's most likely outcome. But he can definitely be more.

      @@emceeunderdogrising yeah, their picks were really made pretty easy by other teams' screw ups. I thought the way the Warriors picked at 7 would dictate the next 6 picks somewhat & who was available to them at 14, because of how set the top 6 seemed to be, but instead it shuffled ahead of them, they were gifted the super high upside guy in Kuminga, and then teams let Moody slip, and both of their picks were really no brainers.

      @@emceeunderdogrisingRight. Though I was actually looking at Mitchell & Murphy III. I have Mitchell as a top 5 player from this draft. The next explosive point guard in line, but a top defender on top of it. But conventional wisdom says, yeah, take Kuminga's upside. And I said take Murphy III because I figured Moody was gone at 8 or 9, anyway. Though I still feel fairly certain Murphy is going to develop quite a bit on top of already being a good long perimeter defender & elite outside shooter. If Moody progresses on track with just average expectations, he'll still likely always be better than Murphy & anyone else they could have taken at 14, though.
      Not what I expected (I was half expecting to be extremely disappointed with at least one of their picks), but definitely easy picks to make. A stretch/scoring 4 on this Warriors team would have been nice, but maybe Jeff Green can be gotten?

    @TheMissinLink Před 3 lety +16

    If he’s anything like OG that’ll be huge. Think he has more isolation ability though even if i don’t love his tendency to play in the mid/high post. OG was also a high level defender from day 1. I think going to the right team will be the deciding factor for that.

    • @TheMissinLink
      @TheMissinLink Před 3 lety

      @@mikejones9906 just going off what the Creators opinion is. As i said JK has more ball handling and scoring tendencies but he has a very long way to go. Especially if your saying he’s the next kawhi. It took kawhi years to get to where he is now but he also came into the league a great defender and was drafted to the perfect development team. Unless Raps pick him up it’s going to take years and years of work to get him to where he needs to be(because every wing that goes there seems to be a contributor early even if they’re super raw) . Cavs seem to keep their young guys in check but he won’t be the 1st, 2nd maybe even 3rd option depending on KLoves situation and we’ll have to how he adapts to that. I think they’d rather take green anyway, they usually take BTA.

    • @TheMissinLink
      @TheMissinLink Před 3 lety

      @@mikejones9906 first watched him live at Hunt prep years ago but he wasn’t making major waves until he went to Our Savior and that’s when i started to take interest in him. I don’t understand why someone has to follow somebody for the majority of their playing career to be able to get a grip on their play. there’s high school game vaults and YT highlights everywhere and obviously what he’s done in G League.

    • @TheMissinLink
      @TheMissinLink Před 3 lety

      @@mikejones9906 Um yes i know all of this😂 Marvin Bagley reclassified too and he too had supreme athleticism for his position and a well ahead of schedule post game. It’s not a 1-1 comparison but the point is youth does not always equate to a higher upside, even if you are highly skilled for your age. I also don’t know why people put so much stock into how a kid performs in HS either, Austin Rivers was the best guard in HS but he’s a role player now. Skal was the best player in HS years ago and i don’t even know if he’s on a roster. Massif Little and Ej Montgomery were top 6 or 7 and they’re aren’t even rotation level players. There’s many more examples(and it helps to have the foundation obviously but i never understood the craze for it) The mid high post ability is cool but this style of offense is mostly going extinct if you aren’t the highest level of scorer (KD) I’m WAY more interested in his two way ceiling rather than his ability to be a super high level offensive player, but he still has a ways to go on both ends of the floor.

    • @TheMissinLink
      @TheMissinLink Před 3 lety

      @@mikejones9906 He had a hook over both shoulders(pretty right dominant though), classic drop step and drive off the right block with a power dribble into the lane which was arguably his strongest move, all in college. He didn’t have a hakeem package but that’s a skillset a non post player would take years to develop, just like you said.

      @TheMissinLink Před 3 lety

      @@mikejones9906 IM NOT COMPARING HIM TO OG THIS WAS THE VIDEO CREATORS OPINION. Looks like he has a ton of potential, but needs a year or two to develop it on the right NBA team. His upside may be the highest in this draft class, but not there yet. Handle, shooting, passing, defensive awareness all need work at this point. Not sure I'd call him a 'project' at this stage, but also young enough to develop. Good overall review, thanks for putting this together.

    He is a raw talent. Whoever takes him is going to have to be really willing to work with him, and devolop him. His celing is very high, and he has superstart potential, he needs to become smarter with his shots. The kid due to his athleticism and size is already a dominant finisher at the rim, he has a nice mid range game, but needs to become more comfortable shooting there. He needs to take smart threes and not try to play hero ball. Make smart choices, smart ball is winning ball. His celing is really high, and he could be a great two way player.

      I don’t see it being super impactful day 1 he really is going to have to develop his handle and jumper teams in the nba are much quicker, smarter and know how to avoid bad switches. He’ll have success against guards down low but he’s not a great passer, out of the post especially, and teams will definitely force him to make decisions there. Probably the highest ceiling in the draft though.
