  • Jalen Green was one of the marquee high school basketball players of the last 5 years. His tremendous leaping ability and scoring prowess led him to bypass the NCAA & head straight to the G-League; where he performed great.

    I think Jalen really made a good point the other day, if he did what he did in the G League in college he would be in talks for the 1 or 2 pick. I think because it's the first year a lot of people aren't sure what to make of the Ignite experiment.
    I'd compare the G League skill level to that of some top European leagues. Jalen is for real.

      I don’t understand how Jalen Green has the most potential?? Is it because of athleticism lmao
      Everyone in the NBA is athletic. I personally think Mobley, Cade, and Kuminga all have more potential than him. Green has a lot of development to make and I think some of his physical limitations will hinder him. Lack of quickness, acceleration, strength, lack of wingspan etc. and he’s one of those guys that needs to be hot in order to be effective. What I will say he’s a lot more mature than I initially assumed so that’s good. We will see though.

    Ok, I've seen a lot of Cade because of his college games and he has an 'it' factor the way he stay poised especially late in games. Now watching Jalen, I see a great prospect as well. He has all the tools to be a franchise player. What I like is that he reads the game well, he plays like an assassin and he doesn't have a lot of wasted dribbles and wasted energy, a lot like MJ when he knew he was better than everyone else, he wasted no energy. These are great attributes many don't see. The team with a good eye for talent will pick Jalen. I don't see him going beyond 1 or 2 because any spot lower than 2 is a steal, he's that good. Interesting times.

    Green is so explosive he is fun to watch. The ignite team didn't feature a lot of off ball movement but with how quick Green is be tough guard cutting and receiving passes from a talented passing big. Obviously the appeal to Green is his on ball production but I think he could be pretty dangerous off of it as well.

    Dope vid as always man. I like to think that Green's defensive plays during Ignite games should be taken with a grain of salt especially for measures like DRTG. G League is just so offense-dominant and fast-paced that these prospects didn't really get that many reps of set half court defense and thus are less disciplined with their footwork and position. Saw the same thing with Kuminga too.
    It's really promising that he shot 36.5% from NBA 3-line and iirc if u take out the first 3 games where he was clearing still adjusting that number gets close to 39% or even 40%

      Getting buckets isn’t everything lotta the top guys are there cuz they do it big on both ends and are better playmakers like the kids potential as a scorer off the bench but you gotta be elite in other areas to be among the best. Judging off one open gym maybe but we all know that doesn’t equate to how somebody will hold up throughout 82 games or how much value they could potentially bleed in those 82(especially scoring guards that have shaky all around games)

      Bro, obviously you're a young boy who never saw Kobe and T-Mac play at age 18. Kobe and T-Mac could do everything that Jalen can do an 18 but Kobe was listed at 6'7 and T-Mac was 6'8.5. Both Kobe and T-Mac would be the #1 overall picks of this draft coming out of highschool ahead of Jalen are you serious? Jalen doesn't have the ball-handling nor does he has the passing skills or flair of a young Kobe or T-Mac at age 18. He doesn't even have the size to match their physicality. Jalen is 180 soaking wet at 6'5! LOL Everybody who liked your post are dickheads! LOL

    • @Truthtella
      @Truthtella Před 3 lety +34

      @@WallTrapMedia Sir, I'm not as young as you might. Actually I'm older than Kobe Bryant himself. I watched the draft in which he was drafted by the Charlotte Hornets and them traded for Vlade Divac. So I do have perspective. Yes Kobe was great in High School but he wasn't great his first year in the NBA. As a matter of fact he was playing behind Eddie Jones and Nick Van Exel was the pg. Please don't mistake my youthful looking picture. I'm much older than I look. Now that we have thats established. You are seeing through lense of the All NBA Kobe/McGrady not remembering how they played in their early years. It took them a couple of years to reach their emmence talent. Green is already playing professionals at an elite level. With more tricks in his bag and athleticism that both McGrady and Kobe. I'm not saying Green is going to better I'm just pointing out that he's already more pro ready at the same age. So let me correct you because the facts don't support your point. McGrady avg 7 pts in 15 min his rookie year. How about Kobe 7 pts his rookie year. I can't be sure bur Green will start and probably avg more than both in his rookie year. I know they were great but like I said all people remember is the All NBA talents most don't remember there early years to greatness.

    Great video, however, why list defense as a liability when almost every 19 year old scoring star plays bad defense? I think defense should be considered a liability when they will probably still stink in four years when they learn how to play it... such as slow feet, too skinny for a big.

      This is what ESPN has done. Their promotion of the college game (I blame Jay Bilas) will make the Detroit Pistons suffer for a lifetime. That's with thinking Cade is a very good player. Jalen Green is obviously a different talent. He's so fun to watch because he's doing things that we've rarely seen. This Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant stuff. He has to earn it but he has that same "starter package" for lack of better term.

    I saw a few of Green's high-school and prep games in person, and what I thought I saw, you *DID* see. Freak athleticism, limitless potential. The kind of athleticism that *should* lead to Kawhi-like defensive dominance, but doesn't as of now. Certainly not a bad defensive player, but with that level of physical ability, he *could* become one of those "You ain't even gonna receive a PASS this quarter" kind of stoppers. Will he? Only time will tell...
