Crimson Glory was one of my favorites.I grew up in Sarasota,Fl how could I not love this band .one of my favorite singers are Midnight (John Patrick Jr. McDonald) He maybe gone but not forgotten!
@@robvandenbroek4728 ...actually I remember those days well, many live metal bands sounded really poor to average. Things have moved on loads - modern venues are designed with acoustics in mind, live sound loads better now -and much smaller speakers. Nowadays not unusal to see a bunch of amatuers all using ear monitors and with a proper sound guy. I get what you mean about today's studio 'live' post production and playback recordings/autotune ..
@@brendanoneil3489 Agreed on the part that technical equipment has come a long way. But don''t put words in my mouth that I did not use. I said that the lead vocal is barely audible and so are the drums. Just not a good live sound (at all). So this performance did certainly not sound better than studio, like was suggested by Shinyhit...etc
There was... But Crimson Glory concerts weren't recorded in any good quality, unfortunately. Too bad vocalists like Midnight, Warrel Dane, John Arch etc.werent recorded with good quality
Best group. I'n the world thank God I was able to. Be on this earth to hear true kick ass metal. Music thank u mid rip brother cg forever London Kentucky usa
Saw Crimson Glory back in 89-90 .. My former band was opening up for Glory in a small club in Baltimore ." Maxwell's " ..The venue had maybe 50-75 people in there . but they rocked it like it was a coliseum .. Bought an album directly from the band after the show .. Side note ..My bandmate went on to be the bass player " temporarily " for Iced Earth a few years later
Never heard about this band before, but they sound like a combination of Helloween & Iron Maiden, which is absolutely awesome! They have the Maiden twin-guitars and the Helloween vocals :)
First hearing i thought mitnight sounds like geoff tate too, than i discovered more and more the big Led Zeppelin and Robert Plant influence in his voice
I remember as a kid hearing about them... saw a photo in a mag or some sh@t... never heard their music 'til utube... it's really good... obvious comparisons to Queensryche... but hold their own... to bad this music is now ancient...
Well is not totally clear about how alcohol and drugs causes Midnight´s death. You should read and interview to Jon Drenning where he says that his stomach problems maybe was caused because his special effort at the time of singing.Of course Midnight has abussed a lot of alcohol but he always had that stomach problems. He also always refussed to go to the doctor.Maybe he would be alive today if he was to the doctor at time.Anyway.. R.I.P MIdnight wherever you are. You are the voice
A big loss for those execs for dropping the ball on this and many other great talented and inspiring writers!!! Oh the expense but Midnight was on a whole different level!
maybe he ( midnight ) had cancer of the stomach ,or cerrosis of teh liver as well what do you think dominic? drugs weren;t the only things that 86'd a incrediv=ble voice like his
@@marnieculotta2002 no midnight had a severe drinking problem in the 90s which is more or less the reason of why he lost his voice later on before he died.
Midnight had unbelieveable vocals......
The Godfathers of Progressive Metal....

In the age where live performances sounded better then studio...
welll this isn't one of them then. The lead voice is barely audible and so are the drums.

the cable station that broadcast this would have a pristine version in their archive somewhere - granted that it has survived all these years

myn, how could that be?
note, could Midnight ( RIP) have had cancer of the stomach
as well as pushing his range?
Not cancer an aortic aneurysm.

what do you think dominic?
drugs weren;t the only things that 86'd a incrediv=ble voice like his
He died from an aortic aneurysm, not cancer.

DOMINIC GRAVEDANGER so sad...
He died from an aortic aneurysm, drugs had nothing to do with it.
