    This pistol to me is not a budget gun. It's a great quality build for anyone. These other company's just want a shit ton of money because of the name the gun is stamped with. I've owned sig, glock and also Taurus. Just a huge of the build, quality and company.

    • @walterminer4990
      @walterminer4990 Před 4 lety +12

      Totally agree! Some folks don' realize ALL gun companies go through "bad times" regarding not so great guns! For instance, in the 1980's Colt gunsmiths went on strike. Colt had to have office personnel work as "gunsmiths", NOT a good era for Colt. S&W Sigma Series was NOT a good time for S&W! As of late Sig had issues with their 320 and 365!
      Many companies take maybe too long to change Management, Q.A., personnel, etc. Taurus is guilty of this! However, companies can "turn around", Taurus did just that! They finally got their act together! Started with the PT111 MILENNIUM G2, the G2C and now the G3. I do find it humorous when I see "big gun" channel operators shake their heads lately and say, "I can't say anything negative about these pistols"! Kinda' hurts them to admit it!
      Best to ya',,,,!

      Totally agree. I've own glocks and other big dollar brands. I now own the G3 and its beyond this budget label folks are calling it. Its just a well built gun. Great technology in this newly built firearm. Its on the level of some of these big name firearm. Its not a budget firearm but just a great performing weapon.

      @@luketilley9137 _ Ditto. I bought the G2C for $179 and was surprisingly impressed. I bought the G3 for $229 and then bought another G2C for my wife. The G3 is more accurate for as the grip fits my hand better. The G2C is no slouch but, I can shoot the Taurus' more accurately than I can my Glock's. I attribute that to the grips on the Taurus as it points more naturally for me than a Glock. Not a fan of the adjustable sights on the G2C, I'll change those out for aftermarket night sites. Probably will change them on the G3 also.
      Bought two decent quality pistols, with enough money left over for practice ammo, for less than the price of a Glock. Go figure. I do recommend the stainless steel striker guide and the firing pin and return spring from Lakelinellc. Put them in both the G2C and G3, they're essentially the same gun, and it improved the trigger pull. Going to do the wife's gun next.

    Bought a G2C a couple weeks ago and bought a G3 day before yesterday. Shot both today and... WOW! Only put 100 rounds of 115 Winchester FMJ through each during lunch break. The G3 shoots better, for me, than the G2C but that’s due to grip size. They both shoot to the left out of the box but, that’s all me. My Glocks shot to the left until I bumped the sights slightly.
    I’m quite impressed with these pistols. The groups were tight at 25 feet and i was shooting with both hands. I really like the feel of the grip on the G3 and, like it much better than any of my Glocks... except for the G20🙂 I’m seriously considering making the G3 my EDC carry in my Jeep. These really can’t be beat for the price, the G3 was $229.00 + tax and the G2C was $179 + tax. Got both for less price of a Glock with change left over for ammo!
    Seriously though, if you’re on a budget get whichever one fits your hand the best and go with it...

    I have 200 rnds through my new G3 and like everything about the pistol. It's more accurate for distance at the range. Better recoil. Longer barrel, sight picture and the trigger is better than the G2c.

It may not be Glock perfection! But, it is what I would go to for a step down from in price not performance. Because this gun performs. Great vid and pretty good shooting Travis. Just received my G3 and was worried about accuracy. Shop had one box of DTX 115gr fmj's. The gun spewed em out in a shotgun pattern, 12" at 23yds. Even bench rested to make sure it wasn't me. Have some hope after video because I wanted to use a 124gr round anyways. But I do like the pistol other than that. Takes a little bigger budget nowadays for the gun ($309) and a huge budget for ammo (0.0).

      @travisp11  Před 3 lety +1

      If you can, start close, like 3-5 feet and slowly work your way back. Double check and make sure you are flinching or shaking your hand just as you pull the trigger. If it is consistently off, try to adjust the sights and if that doesn't do it, send it in. That is a crazy wide group and the G3s are now made in Georgia instead of Brazil so I hope the Georgia factory didnt have a run of barrels that were bored off center. I like the review and I discovered something also. Given your vid I am saying the G3 likes heavier loads.
    I picked one up because I have purchased several other Taurus in the last year and I have found the quality to be outstanding.
    However when I first fired the G3 I was all over the paper and thought to myself Oboy...a lemon.
    Today I took it to the range with 3 different types of ammo. The original 115gr I tried from ammo incorporated, 115gr Federal aluminum case and 124gr Blazer brass. Target was placed at 21 feet indoors.
    The ammo inc was everywhere inside the 7 ring. There were 3 FTF that I had to slap the slide into battery. Noticed light recoil.
    The Federal had a few in the 8 ring but most tight in the 9 ring.
    The 124gr...half in the red. The rest all in a tight 1.5 inch group in the 9 just under the center ring
    150 rounds plus 50 the first time. Seems my girl does NOT like the 115gr TMC Ammo Incorporated. She likes the 124 Blazer.

I have a SW22 victory and that thing shows you just how bad the taurus accuracy is. i've put about 500 rds through my taurus and can hit a 3" steel at 20 yrds 12 out of 17 times. but i'm aiming way up above and right of the target itself. if you aim at the target you wont hit it. I've also fired 124 and 147 grain hollow points from it and can't hit a 12x18 target with them. it's a piece of shit. the SW22 I can aim dead center of the steel at 20 yards and hit it every time.

    Nice review, but as a former combat veteran, this is a shit and get gun. Dont eorrt about accuracy at closing range. If it cycles its good. And at this many magazines, who cares. I'm talking strictly combat situations

      Are you running steel case ammo? Also, did you clean it before taking it out? I know that it shouldnt matter, though.

      Aaron Hernandez: When you say "jammed up" are you talking Failure to Eject, Failure to Feed, or something else? I'd hate to think your recoil spring was too "tight" since these are assembly line made. I've used Federal red box FMJ, Winchester red & white box FMJ, Remington green box FMJ, and Fiocchi JHP (all normal load, not +P) without a problem. Cleaned and oiled it before going to the range, then after each 150 rounds.Use some solvent and go through scrubbing out all the factory carbon (slide, barrel, spring, firing pin assembly) then oil lightly (I use a small paint brush or Q-Tips for the smaller areas) then try again. Edit: I use a hard bristle tooth brush and sometimes a denture toothbrush for scrubbing.See if any of that helps.Good luck, mate!

    I strongly dislike gun owners referencing a truck gun and if gets lost/stolen no big deal....it is a big deal if gun is stolen/found, and someone is killed with that weapon. It is now on you to prove it was actually reported as lost or stolen. Failure to report weapons lost or stolen becomes an act of negligence on gun owners part. Just my take.

    • @travisp11
      @travisp11  Před 4 lety +1

      And that is why I would immediately report my weapon as lost or stolen as soon as I discovered this.

      I don't think they're saying it thinking about that. If a $250-$300 weapon is lost or stolen, that's more acceptable than a gun that costs two or three times that amount. I certainly understand your point, but most people aren't thinking about someone getting shot by that lost or stolen weapon.

    My thing is I owned a Taurus semi auto years and years ago. I can’t remember what model it was but it was a total pos. Failure to feed, failure to extract jammed all the time. I can’t get past that to buy another Taurus. If you bought A cheap car that kept breaking down would you buy another one just like it? No. You would upgrade to something more reliable. If my Glock starts failing me I will upgrade to something else and not buy another Glock in the future.

      Im sure there are lots of different experiences with Taurus firearms. Mine are as follows: I’ve had great luck with Taurus revolvers and consider them to be excellent.
      Every Taurus semiauto I have ever owned has been a pile of poop. I like the way they look. I like the fact that they are low priced. But I have yet to find one that is reliable. The last one I owned was a PT 111 Millennium. Not only was the point of aim waaaaay off but it jammed often. The last time I shot it it literally fell apart in my hands half way through a magazine! After searching around in the dirt to retrieve all the parts I took it to a gunsmith and gave it to him. With the caveat that it was unsuitable for human consumption and that I wanted it decommissioned and ffl records to indicate it was no longer in my possession. Now thats pretty bad. I’ve owned hundreds of guns. I’ve shot thousands. I have many friends who own Taurus pistols and I’ve seen them fail more than any brand I’ve had experience with. And my friends defend those failures and ignore those failures repeatedly even though they carry for defensive purposes.
      If a gun is for the purpose of defense, it had better work.
      So to sum it up- I will never ever be an owner of a Taurus semi auto pistol. Ever. They are dead to me.

      Yeah. I guess when you get into the realm of inexpensive firearms it’s more likely to experience inconsistent quality issues. It just seems that once you lose confidence in a firearm brand it’s next to impossible to ever feel confident in them again.

      well there's hundreds of thousands of people who would disagree with you. And since the g2c has been one of the best selling pistols of all times lately it brings your opinion and story into question. But I'm sure your right and everybody else is wrong. *eyes roll* Your right about kaka being here but I doubt it has anything to do with the g3, g2c, g2... Your description of mechanical issues, ie, "fell apart" means nothing. At this point i'd say it's you not knowing how to assemble it or just make believe cause your a hater.
