When I first uploaded this, I called it a "restoration" but that was inaccurate.
Restorations (for films at least) involve many professional processes, such as rescanning original film reels at higher resolutions/cleaning up without damaging or altering the original pictures.
This was just a TV ad, and the only source we had was a shitty video tape recording that was beyond "restoring." So I guess the only option left really was to re-draw everything, but it goes without saying that tracing alters the original picture, and therefore isnt a real "restoration." All I could really call it is a "recreation." I do still think this process was interesting and im not sure if many other people attempted doing something similarly to this...

Each frame of animation was redrawn by hand by me. Backgrounds were also recreated by me. Worked on and off from October 16th, 2022 - March 31st, 2023.

SFX and 'Puka' were also ripped him. This video was uploaded in 2K to preserve higher audio frequencies.

WOW! This is incredible! The animation is smooth, the colors feels natural, and, overall, this feels like an actual episode of the show! Exellent job, my friend.
EDIT: To clear up any future misconseption, I am referring to the quality of the restoration. I am aware that this youtuber did not remake this commercial from scratch; he recolored each individual frame to it's original quality. The description of the video further explains this.

One issue I noticed with the animation is how Patrick's clapping at 0:17 looks too "linear", lacking a sense of momentum.

It is an unreal amount of dedication the work put into this but not all frames were hand drawn, I mean, there’s floating chocolate milk at 0:20 there was a good amount of rigging involved

One of them included this commercial which is already another lost media, let's just say patrick is giving spongebob his own "milk" in full glory.

@@kjw21411 I was the first person to find a recording in full, therefore I do have the original source recording. So I think that makes me the founder.
This restoration job is very well done here, from the colors to the clarity, even the audio sounds like it's ripped straight out of a Season 2-3 episode. I'd love to see a thorough behind the scenes video from everyone involved on how you guys restored this commercial (which the only source available for a while was a fading VHS rip)
All I gotta say is, This is just amazing, the fact that your restored all the frames, and teajohny ripping the SFX and music, and this being the result is just awesome. Phenomenal Job
I remember that milk being white
Considering this came out long after the craze of this lost commercial being found, I can tell this restoration took a long time which I can appreciate the dedication. This is a simple yet great commercial and this remaster does it justice.
Amazing work! The quality is just as good as, if not even slightly better than, the quality of the third season dvd set. You could slide this in as a bonus feature and it’d feel right at home!

This is amazing! And to think I kind of remember what happened on this very Saturday as well. It's wild. I was about 12, and finishing up the 6th grade and went to my youth bowling league that morning lol. There's so much lost media out there that wouldn't have existed if it weren't for CZcams. And still a lot that has yet to be found!

This was a commercial that I remember so vividly from my childhood, I was surprised it had never been uploaded to CZcams until recently. I remember searching for this commercial on CZcams for YEARS and never finding it in any shape or form. I’m so thankful it was FINALLY found. Not only have people rediscovered it and uploaded it to share with the rest of us who remember it, but people have gone out of their way to digitally restore it in HD quality. What a time to be alive!
