Compilation of Ridley boss battles from Metroid Series, one of my favorite villains. Recopilación de batallas con el jefe Ridley de las series Metroid, uno de mis villanos favoritos.
Let's see, Ridley was killed in the Original game, (which is also zero mission) along with his mechanical duplicate. The space pirates rebuilt Him as a cyborg using parts from the duplicate, and he was promptly creamed in prime. In prime 3, he was repaired, and enhanced with phazon, before Samus disintegrated him. However, the phazon gave him the same healing factor as he Metroid prime, and he fully recovered before the destruction of Phaze. In super Metroid, he was finally killed off for good, and his corpse was blown up along with Zebes, but the galactic federation unwittingly created a clone that probably shared the original Ridley's memories, He was thrashed by Samus, munched by the queen Metroid, and frozen for study. Finally, an X parasite zombified his corpse, after which Samas blasted Ridley to bits and ATE him. He's still going to come back somehow, I just know it.
Indeed. He always comes back. Ridley was dubbed the master of survival. If Wii U gets another Metroid game, hopefully on a timeline following after Fusion, he will most likely make a comeback.
Actually the only way the space pirates could have brought Ridley back was by salvaging his dead body in norfair and repairing him as a cyborg. because if you remember the space pirate ship and meta ridley blew in a nuclear blast so... close I'll give you that.
the only thing that could keep him dead at this point would be Nintendo continuing to ignore the Metroid franchise: a situation which doesn't look like it's going to change any time soon.
Hard to believe that what started as a goofy looking purple Pterodactly, went on to be one of the most vicious, destruction, sadistic villains in Nintendo history.
I did. Nothing like bragging to your nemesis about eating her mother's corpse. And being disgusted by it. Not because cannibalism is nasty, but because she's an inferior race. XD
I'm guessing you read the manga? He literally killed Samus' parents and wiped most of the colony. She was then adopted by Chozos man. Ridley was about to kill her but her mom rushed in and took the blow instead. edit: Oh god that is fucked. I only knew he killed the colony.
***** In my opinion, the first one failed as a horror movie. I found the Xenomorphs wiping out an entire squad of marines much more horrifying than a lone one where you barely see it killing some random people.
The hilarious thing about this compilation is that it just makes "THE SCENE" from Other M all the more stupid for showing the numerous times Samus (minus the Fusion one which happens after Other M) has on record gone on to completely destroy Ridley only to NOW on Round 4 or 5 have her lose her mind upon seeing him. What further cements the sheer hilarity of it all is how chill she was in Fusion. Maybe she was just having a bad day in Other M, I dunno :S
Crimsonkyurem well i kinda am a fan of it, and i know thats gonna get shit on, but despite its flaws, i would ONLY consider as a tounge in cheek game. But believe me when i tell you, i do recognize the flaws in it. Please dont hate. 😰
Crimsonkyurem i find it funny how ur not talking about the fight at all, cause that fight is more intense then metroid prime which the guy did not lose not even one energy tank.(which funny enough im thinking nintendo is make them not cannon...)
HibHab69 Chronologically, Metroid Other M happens directly after Super Metroid, so Samus has fought Ridley twice. First time, he must've gotten away, second time, he was left on an exploding planet, blasted to oblivion, so you might be able to see how the sight of something that ruined your childhood, return from the dead- caused by a planet *EXPLODING,* could shake you, just a little. Also, note that all appearances after Other M, in chronological order, Ridley is Meta Ridley. How Chill she was in Metroid Fusion: That's the 9th freaking time she's had to fight him.
Crimsonkyurem A pre-historic bird has killed your parents. Now, you go and encounter it on Zebes, either heavily damage it (like in Metroid 1,) or KILL it, and *BLOW UP AN ENTIRE PLANET* with the bird still being on it. *SUDDENLY,* it reappears and is screaming in your faces, *despite* the facts above. I'd be terrified, seeing what appears to be an invincible pterodactyl that killed my parents when I was, like, 11.
0:19 Ridley in Metroid 1:28 Ridley in Super Metroid 4:15 Ridley-X in Metroid Fusion 6:18 Ridley in Metroid Zero Mission 7:20 Mecha Ridley in Metroid Zero Mission 9:38 Meta Ridley in Metroid Prime 15:40 Meta Ridley in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption 18:54 Omega Ridley in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption 22:34 Ridley in Super Smash Bros. I think Samus's reaction in other m is completely justified. Not only is she completely vulnerable because of the death of the baby metroid and the reappearance of Adam in her life, but she thought she killed Ridley, the beast that killed her parents, once and for all, only for him to reappear yet again. Not only that, but before there was just one Ridley who was constantly rebuilt, but with this one, which Samus saw evolve from a tiny little creature, Samus realizes that the galactic federation or anyone for that matter could create a million Ridleys if they wanted to. All of this contributes to her reaction. That and the fact that in previous games she didn't have that reaction not because she's an emotionless "badass" but because those games didn't have the technological capability to show her reaction at all.
I think what we all want is just a better kind of reaction from her from more than just the ridley scene here. I myself got over it awhile ago, but that's how I felt back then and still stand by what I feel. Instead of completely breaking down, it'd be great if it was more something that disturbed her through the fight, where she's fighting her own feelings as well as the boss. Then queue REMEMBER ME coming in to help or whatever. The ridley scene isn't what really needed different reactions though, it's a lot of the rest of the game. The things with Adam and the 'deleter' and stuff could have been so much better... :C
David Gray Better actors would have also helped. I personally think Laura Bailey (Mass Effect, Kid Icarus Uprising) would have made for an excellent samus given her naturally reserved voice and thoughtful nature while interviewing.
She didn't realize that he could be cloned a million times over. She didn't understand how he was alive at all. She had no idea he was a clone. Here's what should have happened. She sees him rising from the flames and goes wide eyed. She has flashes of him killing her mother. Then she enters a blinding rage and attacks without thinking. Ridley grabs her and slams her around, as in the game, causing her to need rescue. The story continues normally from there. This way it was her hatred for Ridley and her frustration that he could return while her childhood was forever tainted that puts her life at risk, rather than some PTSD (which the Chozo would have helped her deal with ages ago while turning her into a perfect warrior) flashback. Now the story can progress without Samus further damaging her image (already damaged by her need to be granted permission, as if she were a robot). As for previous games not having the proper hardware...I dunno, GameCube seemed capable. Same with the GBA. Hell, even the Super Nintendo could, if they so desired. But the creators didn't want to.
The reason why is because that's not ridley. That's parasite X that took over ridely's remain after he was killed by a metroid on Other M from what i remember.
Metroid Prime...God Damn that was a good game. Probably the best side scroller to 3D transition ever. Kept to metroids roots while introducing a whole new prospective and view of these alien inhabited planets that Samus travels through. It was eerie and mysterious, which was perfect.
(...) what exactly are the space pirates? is he the leader?. he just screams like a beast, how he command his minions? is like if i put a dinosaur has a president "Sir our economy is down, we need orders" Ridley :Screee!!! "Right on the buisness sir"
Space pirates refers to either a) the space pirate race. Bipedic creatures with insectoid and reptilian features. They are a brutal and heartless race, which appeared out of nowhere and is raiding ships and enslaving planets at the edges of the calactic federation. b) the faction mostly consisting of said race. The space pirates instinctivly follow the most powerfull leader, which is probably also the reason why Ridley is part of the space pirates and their "leader". "Leader" is in this case probably more of an honorary title, as Ridley does not really lead anyone, but rather fights on the same side as the space pirates and is valued high by them.
ndv diaz Technically, Mother Brain is the leading force behind the space pirates. But she, similar to the Aurora units, is basically just the brain coordinating the pirates. Ridley is their front commander, second to Mother Brain, and unlike her, is actually out there, fighting. Also, he can speak normally, as established in the comics.
not all the chozo died if u payed attention in the first prime the chozo a preminition about thier own doom by the phazon asteroid impacting their planet and spreading toxic phazon across the planet the chozo departed for an 'unknown' destination
I don't know man. Super Metroid Ridley has the gauntlet of Super pirates and ominous music before his fight. I'd say that part, and by extension Ridley, was the scariest of the Ridley encounters.
The idea in other m, that samus is emotional damaged by the death of the baby metroid is fucking stupid, it's as if batman couldn't fight crime b/c Harley Quin died saving his life.
Even though it's a Fusion idea, but feel free to keep blaming Other M for doing things that Fusion did that made it "good". It might make you look smart. Probably not, but you can try.
majora787 Fusion only proves that Other M is even more ridiculous, why would Samus work with the Galactic Federation again after clearing see how corrupt they were in Other M???
The thought behind this video is brilliant. I never knew I wanted a video showing all the Ridley fights, but here it is, and I realize I wanted it all along! Thanks! :D
OH NOOO! Ridley! The space Dragon I've killed 70 times and am fully capable of killing again! Team Ninja's version of me is frightened into a crying 4 year old girl by the mere sight of it! I need to be Saved be a Manly Man with a massive C... Gun!
Beau Butler im not exactly an Other M HATAR. I just think the game is flawed is all...usual problems as expected. graphics are nice and the game looks amazing though
This thing cannot be denied: Metroid Fusion had the best sound design. The Ridley music... the ambiance... the impact of a missile hitting a Core X... but most importantly, that glorious little ditty that plays anytime you pick up a power-up.
+Giovannii Gomes And it has an humanist message. Actually, there is three importants characters : Samus, sa-x (fucking creepy) and adam. If you compare sa-x and adam, you see that they are like an inversed reflect of the other one, and that they represent the most extreme fears of the humanity : the unfeeling and deadly AI, and the bestial and murderous creature. they follow a similar path, slowly revealing their true personality, to finally completely reveal it (the revelation of adam and the transformation of sa-x). this game is very intelligent in the presentation of these characters, because both of them are reference to 2 titans of the sci-fi (more obvious for adam) : hal, in 2001, a space odyssey ans the xenomorph in alien (this game also make fucking reference) and they are also compared to real humans (adam for adam and sa-x for samus). this game is also optimistic, because adam is saving the humanity by disobeing orders, and sa-x is saving you at the very end. metroid fusion is showing an intelligent reflexion on the humanity (on GBA), and i don't understand why peoples are prefering super metroid. this is the longest comment that i made in english (i am french and i am 15, so forgive me for the different mistakes) so i hope that you will read it. thank you.
THANK YOU! The story is ridiculous we all agree on that fine but the gameplay was great! half action and half old school. plus the game looks good. i give it a 7/10. great game.
I agree. It has it's flaws but I find it a very enjoyable game and an interesting take on Metroid series with the 3rd person view. Metroid might be one of the few series that is awesome in basically any dimension, whether it's 2D, 1st person or 3rd person.
I love this video man it's so amazing that an arch nemesis of a hero or heroine just keeps on fighting with each other for a very long time I love it 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I suppose the reason why Samus responded so negatively to Ridley in Other M is because of his new design. I don't mean that as I joke (although I could), the Other M version of Ridley could be described as more menacing than the original design of Ridley (Super Metroid). This could be how Samus remembered Ridley when he murdered her parents, massive, powerful, and terrifying... It still doesn't make sense though. I guess the Galactic Federation took the DNA from the clone Ridley in Other M and "perfected" it later, resulting in the regular-ish design of Ridley we see later on in Fusion.
I think the story writers just messed up. It seemed like they moved her emotional trauma from the manga (her early life) and moved it right to the end of her timeline where it makes the least sense. They could retcon it in a way by saying she was drugged by the GF to try and make her more controllable or something. Would also explain her following Adam's orders to the letter.
Supaninjafication gotta remember that.. metroid 1, 2 , 3, other m are "practicality" happening one after another.. metroid prime... eh... it not really canon because the space pirates (Crabs) are not...smart... im mean yeah ridley is smart... but space pirates them selfs are not... Also why the hell would Samus disobey the military (i mean even if it isn't adam) THEY ARE THE ONES THAT HIRE HER most of the time. this time she wasn't hired and going into area thats under the marshal law. becoming enemies with the GALACTIC FEDERATION means what job is she going to get now. NO ONE WELL HIRE HER as well SHE BE HUNTED DOWN BY EVERYTHING in the UNIVERSE. as well disobeying the military makes what she hates most, a "space pirate" aka criminal.
Arumarker How does that help? As it stands the Prime series is canon and I would prefer Other M to be non canon than the superior Prime trilogy. Samus disobeys the military in Fusion which is also canon. So all the points you made in your last paragraph are null and void. She does what is right, not what she is told.
Okay, I've never played Other M but I can see Samus being surprised (and maybe a bit pissed) due to Ridley appearing again, but being scared of Ridley after beating him so many times makes absolutely no sense.
While that reaction could be argued reasonable knowing the entire canon, it does come off as extremely dumb considering that in the time between Ridley completely annihilating her home colony and eating at least one of her parents she killed the fucker what feels like a hundred times (even if MoM's early in the timeline: The player percieves it differently). The only reaction I can figure her having is one of caution, disgust and hatred, not fear.
Considering Other M takes place between Super Metroid and Fusion in the timeline, seeing the giant space dragon that killed your parents, the one that you killed twice already, her reaction was actually pretty well done.
ThatIrishBloke15 So it was well done for her to react to it like it was the end of the world around her when she usually destroys him like it's nothing any other time?
Actually, by Other M's time in the Metroid chronology, Samus has killed Ridley four times. Once in the original game (actually twice if you consider Zero Mission to be the same and count the whole Ridley mech stuff), once over the impact crater in Prime 1, seemingly twice in Prime 3 after the generator shaft descent sequence and the seed on the Pirate Homeworld. By Other M, I would expect Samus to really just stop being surprised. Another important thing that factor's into why Samus shouldn't be scared is that some of her encounters with Ridley took place while she barely had any suit upgrades. Sure, the battle in Super Metroid's intro wasn't really a memorable fight and inevitably ends Samus badly damaged and Ridley running off to Zebes, but she barely had and equipment, and even then it's very possible to see him turn damage-indicating red during the fight. There's also the shaft descent in Prime 3 where Samus beats him with the un-upgraded arm cannon. Then there's every other encounter where Samus has all the obliterating weaponry and obliterates Ridley. Anyway, if what I hear of Other M is true, then Samus has all her gear right at the start, meaning she has all the obliterating weapons, meaning Ridley should be no fear-inducing problem. And don't you dare say that Adam bastard didn't authorize her obliterating weapons. Samus should have all the reason in the world to use them with the self-reviving space dragon five feet in front of her.
Actually, in Fusion, it's much easier to use charged shots. The Plasma Beam does damage for every frame that it's in an enemy. Ridley is so big that if you can shoot a charge shot that goes all the way through him, it does a ridiculous amount of damage. It's MUCH faster than using missiles. It's also way easier than using missiles.
Man I just love this series. And Ridley is always one of the highlights of playing any Metroid game he is in. Especially the Prime series in my opinion.
He said and other appearances... And besides If you saw the whole video, he placed the battle VS Ridley in subspace emisarry from SSB Brawl, thats why I mention he forgot the Meta Ridley from that game also.
See, that I could maybe, MAYBE understand. But what makes no sense at all is why she suddenly doesn't have PTSD in Metroid fusion, which happens after Other M
justin baily I could even understand that, since you fight and kill him in Other M, so maybe she just sees him again in Fusion and is all "AGAIN?" But my problem is that Other M happens, canonically, after Metroid 1, 2, all four Prime games, and Super Metroid. Even if you accept Nintendo's altered timeline (they basically de-canonized the Prime games to account for some of what's said throughout Other M), she's STILL fought Ridley twice before, in Metroid 1, and in Super Metroid! There is NO REASON for her PTSD freak-out in Other M!
ShadowGlove84 et al., it bugs me that so many people have a problem with this. Samus is more emotionally vulnerable during Other M, having just witnessed the death of the baby Metroid. This Metroid was the one creature to whom she related the most, as both were orphaned by someone who exterminated all of their family and cohabitants. To be confronted once again by the one who had spared her by mistake, after losing the one she had spared through compassion and not wanting to be the monster Ridley was, coupled with the fact that Super Metroid gave the most definitive and unambiguous demise of Ridley and thus Samus had exactly zero expectation of ever seeing him again... this experience was significantly more traumatic than other confrontations with Ridley. I give her a little bit of a break.
Gold161803 I will give you at least one thing; your's is the only argument defending Other M's Ridley scene that actually makes sense. Most people aren't nearly as concise. Well done. As for a rebuttal, keep in mind, this is the second time Ridley's been seen coming back to life (fourth, if you want to count the Prime games). He died in Metroid, came back in Super Metroid, and now he's back again. So Ridley surviving death isn't a new concept to Samus. But, like you said, I could give her somewhat of a break in that she was shocked. The death of the baby combined with Ridley coming back again; I could understand not being an emotional rock like she normally is. However, it does somewhat go against her status as a bounty hunter. She can be shocked, sure, however to be immobilized by something to the point where nobody can call you out of it and you long enough so that Ridley had time to saunter up to her and grab her? Seems a bit much. Again, some delay would've been totally fine, however, I feel like the scene would been much more in character if Samus would've gotten to attacking before Ridley had a chance to grab her.
It's usually blamed on the manga, where she breaks down similarly when she meets Ridley for the first time since he killed her parents. But that's a terrible explanation for the scene in Other M, because the manga goes on to explain that the reason she broke down was that she'd been repressing all her fears and anguish for her whole life. Her Chozo adopted "family basically do a group hug and she has the first good cry over her parents' death of her whole adult life, and then after she's gotten it out of her system she goes and kicks Ridley's sorry ass. The Other M scene drew upon the manga, but made as much a mess of it as everything else it referenced. The game was just plagued with shockingly bad writing, there's no excuse.
What does that even have to do with fanboyism? You said today's games take no skill and I gave Bayonetta 2 as a counterexample. Another one would be The Wonderful 101, or Sm4sh. The list goes on.
Well judging from the Manga and Other M, its neat to think those times she never freaked out in Prime due to her PTSD. She's a fighter if she can keep defeating him even if she's secretly mentally traumatized each time(We don't have to know it) but it must be there- And since in M its shown her mental stability is what powers her suit, she's able to sustain her suit in prime(Again for suspension of disbelief) she's still suffering each time she battles him. And wins.
I kinda liked it but there are not the metroid elements and the game cancael the prime timeline completely, i liked it as a game, i disliked it as a metroid game
The part where the ridley fight is bad is not because of the fight itself. It's because of the reaction samus has when she see ridley. "Oh no! It's ridley! I'm gonna cry!" Remember Samus killed rdley countless times in the storyline before this one and she should'nt be reacting to it more than: "Oh hi ridley" *shrek ridley appart* "goodbye ridley".
ALPHACKER2 actually sakamoto said that he doens't really think that prime series are canon... so if we take what he says for real, she just had fought ridley in zebes and thinking that she totally destroyed him. no wonder the surprise, no wonder she felt like a little kid that saw that gigantic beast in front of her eyes, the very same beast that killed her parents and raided her home TWICE. she fought her in zero mission and super metroid, then here. i loved it, and still love it.
GrungeVirus What? The Prime series aren't canon? Seriously? This is my first time hearing this. Are you guys sure the people that leads the Metroid series said that? What about the upcoming Federation Force? (I still want a Metroid game that continues after Fusion and a Metroid II remake like Zero Mission to the first Metroid.)
I think Ridley is my favourite re-occuring boss of all time. I remember playing Metroid Fusion thinking, "Man... I doubt ridley will make it in here" but lo and behold, he did! What I also like is that he always seems to be the '2nd-In Command' as opposed to the one who is in charge. Is he an opportunist who attaches to whatever contract he is offered? Who knows. All I know is that this guy is freakin awesome.
I Thu k super metroid is one the greatest games period, everything about it is amazing. I love how it's not hard or to east, the music, the feeling, no game has ever had a bigger impact on me
Hmm so if im correct Ridley fought samus in Metroid and then was neatly killed then was powered up to metal by space pirates in Prime then was almost killed again and then rested up in prime 2 and was cured again by the space pirates and came back in Prime 3 thnking that the metal was still good but it wasnt and then fell in a pool of phazon to turn o omega and then almost died again but used a ninja move to run away then Rested up in Metroid 2 to then come back in Super Metroid this time knowing the metal slowed him down and became very powerful only to be killed this time but then was cloned in Other M but died amd the remains was then frozen only to be infected by the X in Fusion and to then die again wonder how he'll be back again
Nice montage and well done on the battles. Only two things missing. 1. Meta Ridley battle from SSBB. 2. Adolescent Ridley from Metroid: Other M. Aside from that, cool.
The scream of the 2002 fusion version! Jeeze! That would`ve given me nightmares as a kid! Who exactly is Ridley anyway? Like where does he come from and whats his rivalry with Samus? I`ve never played any metroid games ya see.
Ridley is one of the main leaders with the Space Pirates and one of Samus' main enemies along with Mother Brain and Metroid Prime. Where he came from? That's a mystery. Not sure about that. Even though I have played most of the series like Metroid (NES), Super Metroid, Prime's 1, 2, & 3, Other M and Fusion. The reason why he is one of Samus' enemies is that he actually killed her parents at a young age. To be honest, I felt bad for her after what happened. Rivalry? Not entirely sure either.
When the original Metroid was made he was just a creature you faced. Sakamoto, who made Super Metroid, retconned him into an intelligent creature, leader of the Space Pirates and killer of Samus' parents. And that's the same game he dies lol.
Crona Schweetz As someone that played this as a kid, I was about 9 or 10 when this came out, that wasn't the part that scared me. It was the fucking SA-X reveal when she turns her head and that creepy ass music plays! *shivers* That shit STILL gives me the heebee jeebees just thinking about it. Ridleys scream was just loud honestly. A little creepy but nowhere near as creepy or scary as the SA-X. It's not just me either ask just about anyone that played that game as a kid.
Gotta put up with that in Super Metroid also. Plus, Ridley's friggin tail continuously got in my way. Aside from that, let's talk favorite bosses in the Metroid Series. Mine are of course, Ridley and the Metroid Queen. It fugly but cool. Plus I like the SA-X
I love Fusion...sounds are just perfect...that repetitive buzzing bass effect when you hit Ridley using missile or charge beam gives me a chill. And that detail particles falling from Ridley when you hit him is amazing. Also I see some people hating the screaming of Ridley's...I think it is perfect...
It's actually based off of the salmon crested cockatoo. They modified the sound so it's deeper, similar to what they do for Bowser after 2007,they use a crow's caw and edit it
I just don't understand why people hate how Samus was scared of ridley, he's a monster that ruined her childhood, killed her parents and now he somehow returned. Put yourself in her boots, how would you feel if he stood there in front of you ready to slice you down the middle.
It would be understandable if other m was the first game story wise... But it's not. She fought Ridley multiple times before the other m fight story wise
Donovan Charles Not counting the prime games, because they want to retcon that trilogy, samus already encountered Ridley 4 times, Ridley and metal Ridley in zero mission, at the beginning and the real battle in super metroid no fear, no trembling, no ptsd bullshit.
It wasn't bad. But its certainly not the best. That would probably be Super Metroid or Prime. Fusion had some major flaws. You're welcomed to like Fusion the best though.
Zachary Bliss i like fusion too, the only problem is rid- *SCRAWWWWWWWWWWWGSFKHASVDKHACSHCDKAJSCHDKVASJDBJKSAVDKHSVAKJDVASJKVDHKASVDKHASVDKAHSVDKHSAVSAJJV*
you know what could've been done to make Other M good? make it first person like the Prime games, get rid of Samus's PTSD scene before Ridley, and don't make Samus speak. done.
When even is this game in the timeline? I like to assume is pre-metroid 1, but.. Metroid Queen, and Nightmare are present, not to mention one cutscene shows mechanical mother brain. Also Adam is apparently alive so its before Fusion. :|
Other M took place between Super and Fusion. She had a hint of shock in Zero Mission, but that's all it was. The PTSD supposedly after Primes 1-3, II, and Super contradicts that. In all honesty, I'd rather see both 1st person and 3rd person views expanded upon. One could play it like Metroid Prime and in the unique battle style added with the 2d side scrolling that was in the earlier games. Both 3rd and 1st person would have to be used in certain situations, like the Prime games with the Morph Ball.
She wasnt traumatized, she was just VERY surprised to see him still alive. Besides, most likely all other Ridleys after the original game were clones or not the real one.
The reason Samus acts like a "baby" in Other M is because due to Ridley and the Space Pirates killing her parents when she was 3, she has PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).
Yeah, but she doesn't do that in any other game. Other M is the penultimate game in the timeline, Samus is USED to Ridley coming back time and time again.
i too wonder why she only shows her ptsd in other m after all she did fight ridley 6 times before that and again in fusion and she didn't show any emotion in that fight which is supposed to be after other m and ridley killed her mom and her dad killed himself in order to protect his ship
Humberto Mendoza Also, Zero Mission has little cutscenes before the bosses, right? Wouldn't it have made more sense for Samus' PTSD to kick in after seeing and facing Ridley for the first time after he killed her family?
I still feel the reactions were far to over-the-top for a character that has never spoken or shown fear before. I could understand her getting paralyzed with fear, but the screaming just seemed way too melodramatic and out of character.
Other M is worse than I thought, they tried to make metroid deeper than it already was, honestly, silent samus spoke much more loudly than the dumb blonde they made samus into in other m...
Harjoyt Gill I thought that since they would have to shrink him down a bit for him to be playable, his final smash would be him growing to his normal size and tearing the shit out of everything.
Michael Georgiou Kraid is Ridley's partner and he makes sense since Mother Brain and Dark Samus are assist trophies (Kraid picture) static.gamesradar.com/images/mb/GamesRadar/us/Features/2010/08/Samus%20and%20Ridley/Finished/082510_samusridley_obs04--article_image.jpg
Harjoyt Gill I think for this game, we'll only get one Metroid character newcomer. It seems like they're getting down to the last of the characters. That's also if Ridley isn't a boss. :/
I don't get why this guy gives samus so many problems. I've heard her standard loadout is ridiculously powerful, as in can blow mountains apart and stuff, and he's just a flesh and blood space dragon. Okay, space dragons are cool, granted, but still....
Videogame logic, plus her loadout isn't that strong...then again she can alter terrain with speedboost, shinespark, bombs, powerbombs, missiles...nevermind, carry on.
+HerringDoesAThing and then the next game comes around, "yea these bosses are cool but you know what would be awesome? a dragon, lets bring back ridley again". ridley just wont stay dead lol, i wonder how they will bring one back after fusion, his clones dead body shattered into pieces and the x mimicking it was absorbed by samus, and if thats not all the space station both were on blew up with the planet. but somehow im sure ridley found a way to be in the next game
+r4shka For that matter, he also missed the first encounter with Meta Ridley in Prime 3 (the morph ball part where Ridley destroys those pipes you're going through) and Brawl's Meta Ridley fight (the one that happens on top of Cap. Falcon's ship).
I'll admit, Ridley's battle in Other M was better than, "Battle of who can outlast each other's beefy attacks" that most other Ridley fights were, the boss fight song could have been better, but still good fight. HOWEVER, I will say that the missile mechanics probably ruined it for me. Seriously, folks, what the actual hell was the worst way to develop the missile mechanic? Ok, back on topic, Ridley from Other M, good fight. But, my most memorable Ridley fight is MP Meta Ridley, the limits from the Game Cube were all too present, but he was a good boss at that time. And when it comes down to it, unfortunately, ALL the Ridley fights had kinks and flaws that, I'm sure many of you agree, makes Ridley that, "Oh, it's Ridley again! Hi, guy! I'm just gonna, you know, kick your ass and go fight a more memorable boss." I mean, when you look at Super Metroid do you immediately think, "Dat Ridley though..." or is it T-rex Mother Brain and Super Metroid baby murdering each other? Or Fusion's "Frozen Ridley... yup." Or the fact that a full-powered hive mind clone is after you(ten of them by the time you get to Ridley.) I'll even put my favorite Meta Ridley fight down for the climactic Metroid Prime fight. Yes, Ridley is awesome-ish, sort of, kind of, when you are in that kind of mood. But, Ridley just doesn't have that memorable fight greatness like the other bosses do, probably because he has that same feel of "overpower him now, think to yourself how he needed little strategies later."
I know everyone hate what they did to Samus's character in Other M. But that Ridley scene though. It was so awsome. He's one of my favorite nitendo characters. I really liked how they showed you his species's growth stages, without actually telling you it was him all along.
I think reasons why Samus got bit scared on Ridley on other m is cuz well, the memories about her parents got killed by Ridley kinda pops out of nowhere and remember it how terrifying it is. It happens to humans that they remember some of their long gone past
There are a bunch of people being WRONG in the comments below, so I'm just gonna correct 'em real quick. *From Best to Worst:* *1.* Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (This is what Metroid IS. And it's amazing.) *2.* Super Metroid (This game is legendary for a reason.) *3.* Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (They ended the trilogy well.) *4.* Metroid Prime (An amazing return after 10 years.) *5.* Metroid: Zero Mission (Another awesome entry, and a great remake.) *6.* Metroid Fusion (Great game, but it's more linear than the others.) *7.* Metroid (Even though it's at #7, it's not bad. The series exists today because the first game was good enough to get a sequel!) *8.* Metroid Prime Hunters (Ambitious title, but was held back by the DS's poor controls and hardware. Definitely cool for its time, though.) *9.* Metroid 2: Return of Samus (This game was severely held back by the hardware of the original Game Boy. I believe it would have benefited greatly from waiting for the Gameboy Color, although then we may have never gotten our iconic "Barrier" suit.) So... You may be wondering... _"Where's Other M?"_ _It's not here._ *Because it's **_not a Metroid game._*
***** If Other M would had everything "Metroid" removed from it, it would been a decent action game I wouldn't have minded spending my money on. However, as a *_Metroid_* game, it's the biggest ever disgrace to the series. Thanks for sharing your opinion.
***** i just beat prime one and started prime 2 and im also loving it...such a grim start and great atmosphere..you feel more powerless bc the threat is higher bc you get to see all the dead soldiers and...its just great
+mrguy22494 Considering all the crap they were doing with Phazon on Tallon IV, it seems pretty clear that Space Pirates aren't shy about altering their troops to suit a given function, or just for shits and giggles. Maybe Ridley is what you get when you try to turn a Space Pirate into a big, intimidating leader? Or, by the same token, maybe he's an example of the original species archetype, and the rank-and-file "Zebesian"-style Pirate is better adapted to work with technology stolen from species who aren't terrible gargoyles?
While I am well aware Other M is a Metroid Game and Super Smash Bros. Brawl isn't, I hate to say it... But Other M doesn't deserve a spot in this list. Brawl's battle was much better.
***** No, I was talking about Ridley from Super Smash Bros Brawl, in intense mode the fight it's almost unfair since he's going pretty much too hard on you, specially fighting him as Samus, since in that game she's not that matching with her usual speed with her movement and fire power, don't forget about her airbone movement, she's pretty much slowed down in her entire movement set. The thing is, he'll be hard to kill in the hardest mode of that game, "Intense mode", specially on 1 on 1. And what do you mean by "Nofair" pun ? Metroid ain't for jokes
Samus: Ok boss time. I got this.
ridley: FUCK, IT'S THE FINAL BOSS. I ALWAYS DIE AT THIS BIT!!!
bruh😂😂😂
So true)))
HYDRO STORM
He's still going to come back somehow, I just know it.
...lol holy shit...
He wasn't killed in zero mission, he was just crippled.
Hard to believe that what started as a goofy looking purple Pterodactly, went on to be one of the most vicious, destruction, sadistic villains in Nintendo history.
Right? xD
HYDRO STORM
zillafire101 Read The manga LOL
Fun fact, he's named after the director of Alien. The movie that Metroid was inspired by. That's also the reason that Samus is a woman.
Metroid prime was my favorite game. When I heard this, I went and saw the Alien movies...Now, Aliens is my favorite movie :D THANKS METROID!!!
The way Ridley fight in Metroid Zero Mission is no different from how he fight in Super Metroid
*****
That's because it's a remake of one of the original metroid games.
Evan Snoes Aliens was a great movie, however Alien (the first movie) sucked.
Crimsonkyurem
i find it funny how ur not talking about the fight at all, cause that fight is more intense then metroid prime which the guy did not lose not even one energy tank.(which funny enough im thinking nintendo is make them not cannon...)
Arumarker
Oh ok, I though you were talking bout the game itself. You were just referring to the fight. Sorry for my incompetence. : (
HibHab69 Chronologically, Metroid Other M happens directly after Super Metroid, so Samus has fought Ridley twice.
Space pirate 1 :OMG they killed Ridley
Space pirate 2 : You bastards!
Space Pirate 3: Okay, who gave you two access to the TV to watch South Park?
At one point in our lives, we all tried to do the ridley scream.
LOL!
In fact, ridley scream is better than foxy screech.
P.S. I hate FNAF, deal with it all you fanboys who only get 2 hours of sleep.
+Mysterious Man Y u insult 2 my wife fuxy :`(
Y u insult my judgement?
+Mysterious Man just kidding men!
0:19 Ridley in Metroid
1:28 Ridley in Super Metroid
4:15 Ridley-X in Metroid Fusion
6:18 Ridley in Metroid Zero Mission
7:20 Mecha Ridley in Metroid Zero Mission
9:38 Meta Ridley in Metroid Prime
15:40 Meta Ridley in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
18:54 Omega Ridley in Metroid Prime 3: Corruption
22:34 Ridley in Super Smash Bros. Brawl
30:00 Cloned Ridley in Metroid Other M
I remember fighting Ridley in Fusion with my earphones on. Needless to say my hearing isn't what it used to be.
It's official. Other M took place during Samus's menstrual period.
HiddenTalent77 XD
HiddenTalent77 it's so obvious no one ever noticed until now (seriously, I'm not joking)
+smoke264 It was legitimately confirmed?
+HiddenTalent77 Not a chance. Had that happened, Ridley would have died so horribly that his final will would be a "do not resuscitate" order.
+HiddenTalent77 So THAT'S what the other M stands for...
David Gray
Better actors would have also helped.
Jesus! The Ridley from Metroid Fusion was an ear-rape!
And I love it! It's the ungoldly shriek of a space dragon!
In zero mission its earrape too.
(...) what exactly are the space pirates? is he the leader?. he just screams like a beast, how he command his minions?
is like if i put a dinosaur has a president
"Sir our economy is down, we need orders"
Ridley :Screee!!!
"Right on the buisness sir"
Space pirates refers to either
a) the space pirate race.
+morantNO1 so he's like an alpha wolf?
HeavyDonkeyKong I suppose so.
But just a theory based on the little lore the series gives you.
ndv diaz Technically, Mother Brain is the leading force behind the space pirates.
But she, similar to the Aurora units, is basically just the brain coordinating the pirates.
Ridley is their front commander, second to Mother Brain, and unlike her, is actually out there, fighting.
Also, he can speak normally, as established in the comics.
Tbh, a dinosaur seems like a better president than the current one...
I just thought of something nobody else has:
They could put Ridley in super Mario maker.
Or they could put him in smash.
+Just add water too big😒
+MvdKipz Look at Bowser, he's been big before has he not? And look at Ridley in Melee's opening and his boss fight in the original Metroid.
Yeah! His taunt could be his super metroid scream!
Prince Vegeta But Ridley is even bigger than Bowser
that thing killed her parents a long time ago,not many people know the origin of samus
Also, Ridley can speak english, in the Manga anyway. Its never shown in the games.
I read thing as thong :3
Actually, A lot of people do. Then she was raised by the Chozo, then they all died, and then she was a bounty hunter!
not all the chozo died if u payed attention in the first prime the chozo a preminition about thier own doom by the phazon asteroid impacting their planet and spreading toxic phazon across the planet the chozo departed for an 'unknown' destination
i think they r still out there leaving chozo artifacts fo samus that r hundreds of years old
Super Metroid, raising the bar to unfathomable heights for this game.....never to be reached again, until GC came out with Prime.
Prime was literally the next Metriod game made.
and the last one I got into. echoes introduced like this dialog with voice actors, didn't like it.
+random dude there was only one character with any dialogue at all....
Metroid prime is the game that got me into gaming
love that Trilogy
Metroid Fusion has the scariest Ridley, those shrieks. >
They are pretty silly and loud. Just took me by surprise after facing him in Super metroid.
I don't know man. Super Metroid Ridley has the gauntlet of Super pirates and ominous music before his fight. I'd say that part, and by extension Ridley, was the scariest of the Ridley encounters.
He just never stays dead!
That's because Ridley does not fear death. Death fears Ridley...that sounded kind of lame didn't it?
It sounded kinda awesome
I'm starting to get really sick of people hating on Other M, I personally loved playing
Ridley is awesome and all. But I'd really like to see Kraid make a comeback in a newer Metroid game.
Well Ridley and Kraid are partners so they should should do tag battle against Samus
@@JurassicReptile They aren't partners. I don't think they even like each other.
:) Wish granted lol.
It just won't die!
I loved the fight from Prime 3 when you're falling. So tense.
The idea in other m, that samus is emotional damaged by the death of the baby metroid is fucking stupid, it's as if batman couldn't fight crime b/c Harley Quin died saving his life.
the baby
Even though it's a Fusion idea, but feel free to keep blaming Other M for doing things that Fusion did that made it "good". It might make you look smart. Probably not, but you can try.
the baby
majora787
Fusion only proves that Other M is even more ridiculous, why would Samus work with the Galactic Federation again after clearing see how corrupt they were in Other M???
the baby
SNES Ridley: -roars like a crack addict-
Metroid Fusion Ridley: >Screaming like im on the toilet
Pyroxenite Rosetachi His scream was so damn loud it nearly blew out my gameboy advance speakers.
Evil Spock
well damn! Who knew his scream was that loud XD
The Ridley from Fusion is an X parasite mimicking the Ridley clone from Other M!
Gun!
massive C Gun?
Do i really need to spell out that joke?
Cock... I mean gun....
Ah, the mentality of the stereotypical Other M-hater. I revel in your distaste. Delicious.
Beau Butler That isn't the only reason I hate Other M but Ok....
Beau Butler im not exactly an Other M HATAR. I just think the game is flawed is all...usual problems as expected. graphics are nice and the game looks amazing though
The one from Fusion took me 3 minutes the one in Super Metroid...
Took me 3 months
wich doesn't mean that super metroid is better than fusion ;)
I literally killed Ridley the first time in Super Metroid
Wtf is easiest the thing is I reset because i just have 4 tanks in the last brain fight
This thing cannot be denied: Metroid Fusion had the best sound design. The Ridley music... the ambiance... the impact of a missile hitting a Core X... but most importantly, that glorious little ditty that plays anytime you pick up a power-up.
Super Metroid is the all time best Metroid game ever.
Who agree?
i did u heard the new "metroid game" whrre u dont play as samus?
I say I like fusion better.
+Pateath Baker YES ! finally someone else who prefer fusion too !
Just finished Fusion. Holy fuck that was fucking amazing!
+Giovannii Gomes And it has an humanist message. Actually, there is three importants characters : Samus, sa-x (fucking creepy) and adam. If you compare sa-x and adam, you see that they are like an inversed reflect of the other one, and that they represent the most extreme fears of the humanity : the unfeeling and deadly AI, and the bestial and murderous creature. they follow a similar path, slowly revealing their true personality, to finally completely reveal it (the revelation of adam and the transformation of sa-x). this game is very intelligent in the presentation of these characters, because both of them are reference to 2 titans of the sci-fi (more obvious for adam) : hal, in 2001, a space odyssey ans the xenomorph in alien (this game also make fucking reference) and they are also compared to real humans (adam for adam and sa-x for samus). this game is also optimistic, because adam is saving the humanity by disobeing orders, and sa-x is saving you at the very end. metroid fusion is showing an intelligent reflexion on the humanity (on GBA), and i don't understand why peoples are prefering super metroid.
this is the longest comment that i made in english (i am french and i am 15, so forgive me for the different mistakes) so i hope that you will read it. thank you.
Yeah, Meta Ridley from the first Prime is still my favorite.
Me too
yeah mine too.
The Ridley fight in metroid prime was the reason I wanted it
Metroid Prime has the BEST Ridley Boss Fight in VGH.
Just gonna say Other M may have had bad writing, but It had decent gameplay.
warrants a place in my Metroid collection just for that.
At least other m has a story. (Looks at metroid prime)
Finally someone who doesnt bash Other M just because Samus isn't a silent killing machine.
Don't get me wrong, Other M is a good game, but it isn't a true Metroid game from my POV. It messed up her character to much.
This is why Samus can't have nice things.
That was really cool to see all the Ridley battles and how they all changed(:
Thanks pikachu for saving samus' life
Okay, I've never played Other M but I can see Samus being surprised (and maybe a bit pissed) due to Ridley appearing again, but being scared of Ridley after beating him so many times makes absolutely no sense.
It actually wasn't. Because she knows perfectly well that she is capable of completely annihilating him.
Samus should have all the reason in the world to use them with the self-reviving space dragon five feet in front of her.
me in fusion: FILL THAT FUCKER WITH MISSILES
Fusion was my favorite side scrolling Netflix game ever tbh
+Tyler Smith netflix has game
i discovered it like, one month ago and i finished it three times ! I FUCKING LOVE THIS GAME :) !
+Flippy Sidee but its less epic :)
Great vid, right up until the end.
Man I just love this series. And Ridley is always one of the highlights of playing any Metroid game he is in. Especially the Prime series in my opinion.
How does Ridley lead anyone when he never talks?
Most likely telepathy.
he talks in the manga if that helps
He speaks in the ancient language of AUUUUUUU
He speaks in the ancient language of AUUUUUUU
He uses whatsapp
You forgot Meta Ridley in SSB Brawl fight :/
The one on top the Big Blue :/
Metroid Series. Those two are for Smash Bros.
He said and other appearances... And besides If you saw the whole video, he placed the battle VS Ridley in subspace emisarry from SSB Brawl, thats why I mention he forgot the Meta Ridley from that game also.
TKnHappyNess Didnt even watch the video, did you? He said and other apperances.
***** Then... If you watched the whole video, That Im guessing you didnt, why does he have the fight scene of Ridley In Smash bros brawl?
***** P.S: Just to help you out, jump to this minute 22:01 It looks like smash to me. Plus at the star of the video he says: And other appearances.
I still can't believe how beautiful Super Metroid's sprites are. Also, I love Ridley's screech in Super.
Really nice dude :)
But seriously, in Other M she has destroyed Ridley several times already, and now all of a sudden she suffers from PTSD?
Prime trilogy is still the best in my opinion
That shrieking Gameboy Ridley is terrifying.
Back when gaming really took some thinking and skill... Now it's just follow the waypoints, and shoot people.
someone has been playing MW2 recently
+Dan Hutchinson Ramirez complain on CZcams while in war
Okay, try that with Bayonetta 2.
Go on, I'll be waiting.
Lol, Bayonetta fan boy.
And wins.
I feel like I'm the only one who likes Other M. That Ridley cutscene is amazing in my eyes.
HEY! I like other m too
I kinda liked it but there are not the metroid elements and the game cancael the prime timeline completely, i liked it as a game, i disliked it as a metroid game
I love how it's not hard or to east, the music, the feeling, no game has ever had a bigger impact on me
You forgot the Meta Ridley fight in Brawl. And if you fight him in Pinball, you forgot that too.
I love the metroid prime boss battle. it was so much fun.
MajesticUltraMatt and all this time I thought he was an experiment gone rouge. Thanks for the info
You're welcome, my friend. It's the least I can do for you
When the original Metroid was made he was just a creature you faced.
Ridley in Zero Mission was infinitely easier than Kraid's missile-timing horseshit.
IKR. I can't beat Kraid hard mode.
+T Dawg Serris and/or the lava worm in Zero Mission (that might still be Serris).
+Mahir Tahseen
The lava worm is not Serris.
Mahir Tahseen Plasma's right. Serris thing is in fusion. I hated it but in the end, Serris was amazing.
lol on metroid prime fusion how ridley screams XD but you did an great work
I love Fusion...sounds are just perfect...that repetitive buzzing bass effect when you hit Ridley using missile or charge beam gives me a chill.
Its right after super metroid, that's why she's scared, she didn't expect him to be back after a planet exploded with him on it
Donovan Charles but in Metroid he was dead but he came back in super metroid so.....
Donovan Charles Not counting the prime games, because they want to retcon that trilogy, samus already encountered Ridley 4 times, Ridley and metal Ridley in zero mission, at the beginning and the real battle in super metroid no fear, no trembling, no ptsd bullshit.
Ohh boy... Look if you want the story, watch nakateleeli's playthrough of Other M
That was the first gameplay i saw from other M, i can see why everyone hates it.
why doesn't anyone pay attention to the fact that the ONLY reason this guy beat Ridley in super metroid was his energy tanks and reserve tanks.
That gameboy ridley scream is just pure gold
Metroid Fusion = Best in the Series
Metroid 1 worst in my opinion best is other m
It wasn't bad. But its certainly not the best. That would probably be Super Metroid or Prime. Fusion had some major flaws.
You're welcomed to like Fusion the best though.
How dare you compare First Person metroids to Fusion...
Zachary Bliss i like fusion too, the only problem is rid-
*SCRAWWWWWWWWWWWGSFKHASVDKHACSHCDKAJSCHDKVASJDBJKSAVDKHSVAKJDVASJKVDHKASVDKHASVDKAHSVDKHSAVSAJJV*
whut...
you know what could've been done to make Other M good? make it first person like the Prime games, get rid of Samus's PTSD scene before Ridley, and don't make Samus speak. done.
All of them, except the first-person part, I actually enjoy the gameplay as is. Also, don't give Samus a bullshit reason NOT to use her powers.
I do like Samus having a personality and character, just make sure when your doing it, to not assassinate the character your trying to develop.
The game wasn't THAT bad was it? I enjoyed it.
She wasnt traumatized, she was just VERY surprised to see him still alive. Besides, most likely all other Ridleys after the original game were clones or not the real one.
thank you!!!
The reason Samus acts like a "baby" in Other M is because due to Ridley and the Space Pirates killing her parents when she was 3, she has PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder).
Yeah, but she doesn't do that in any other game. Other M is the penultimate game in the timeline, Samus is USED to Ridley coming back time and time again.
i too wonder why she only shows her ptsd in other m after all she did fight ridley 6 times before that and again in fusion and she didn't show any emotion in that fight which is supposed to be after other m
and ridley killed her mom and her dad killed himself in order to protect his ship
Humberto Mendoza Also, Zero Mission has little cutscenes before the bosses, right? Wouldn't it have made more sense for Samus' PTSD to kick in after seeing and facing Ridley for the first time after he killed her family?
***** Exactly!
If all else, you have to admit this: Samus regained her composure faster than anyone probably could after seeing their rival who they thought died.
Nintendo to Super Nintendo: Ridley went from looking like a deformed puppy with a spiked tail to a super badass.
Ridley for Smash. It would be soooo badass.
He should summon Kraid for his final smash.
Harjoyt Gill
who is he?
Harjoyt Gill I thought that since they would have to shrink him down a bit for him to be playable, his final smash would be him growing to his normal size and tearing the shit out of everything.
Michael Georgiou Kraid is Ridley's partner and he makes sense since Mother Brain and Dark Samus are assist trophies
(Kraid picture)
static.gamesradar.com/images/mb/GamesRadar/us/Features/2010/08/Samus%20and%20Ridley/Finished/082510_samusridley_obs04--article_image.jpg
Donald Hyacinthe I blame the Japanese-ness of it. Everything they make is over-the-top. Just watch DBZ.
ridley killed samus parents, and her father destroyed his fleet and ship, thats why ridley and samus hate eachoders so much, theres a manga
Techincally, in the Prime series he's part cyborg
firetools She*
I think the development process for adding Ridley was they looked at the finished game and said
"Needs more dragons"
+HerringDoesAThing and then the next game comes around, "yea these bosses are cool but you know what would be awesome? a dragon, lets bring back ridley again". ridley just wont stay dead lol, i wonder how they will bring one back after fusion, his clones dead body shattered into pieces and the x mimicking it was absorbed by samus, and if thats not all the space station both were on blew up with the planet. but somehow im sure ridley found a way to be in the next game
Plot twist: Ridley is now Samus
i rememeber this so much like it was yesterday or this morning metroid
You've only shown Super Metroid's SECOND Ridley fight. You've completely skipped the first one of the game. So much for the ALL Ridley battles...
That battle was almost Nothing.
alex nijhol Still, for the sake of completion, it should have been there.
thats true..
+r4shka For that matter, he also missed the first encounter with Meta Ridley in Prime 3 (the morph ball part where Ridley destroys those pipes you're going through) and Brawl's Meta Ridley fight (the one that happens on top of Cap. Falcon's ship).
+Stefano Ponce This is for METROID series, not all ridley appearances
I like the Metroid: Other M Ridley fight and boss theme. That's right I said it. Bring in the comments. I'm waiting. >:D
PaoloDude404 cool
PaoloDude404 I agree. The fight is pretty awesome.
His fight theme in Other M is the best version.
buen video
I know everyone hate what they did to Samus's character in Other M.
But that Ridley scene though. It was so awsome. He's one of my favorite nitendo characters. I really liked how they showed you his species's growth stages, without actually telling you it was him all along.
In Soviet, Russia... Oh never mind
Has no one played Zero Mission on hard WITH only 15% of items? Hell as a kid I thought it was 5% it wasn't easy
I think reasons why Samus got bit scared on Ridley on other m is cuz well, the memories about her parents got killed by Ridley kinda pops out of nowhere and remember it how terrifying it is. It happens to humans that they remember some of their long gone past
The first metroid prime 3 ridley battle was epic. Probably the 2nd best ridley battle.
There are a bunch of people being WRONG in the comments below, so I'm just gonna correct 'em real quick.
*From Best to Worst:*
*1.* Metroid Prime 2: Echoes (This is what Metroid IS. And it's amazing.)
*2.* Super Metroid (This game is legendary for a reason.)
*3.* Metroid Prime 3: Corruption (They ended the trilogy well.)
*4.* Metroid Prime (An amazing return after 10 years.)
*5.* Metroid: Zero Mission (Another awesome entry, and a great remake.)
*6.* Metroid Fusion (Great game, but it's more linear than the others.)
*7.* Metroid (Even though it's at #7, it's not bad. The series exists today because the first game was good enough to get a sequel!)
*8.* Metroid Prime Hunters (Ambitious title, but was held back by the DS's poor controls and hardware. Definitely cool for its time, though.)
*9.* Metroid 2: Return of Samus (This game was severely held back by the hardware of the original Game Boy. I believe it would have benefited greatly from waiting for the Gameboy Color, although then we may have never gotten our iconic "Barrier" suit.)
So... You may be wondering... _"Where's Other M?"_
_It's not here._
*Because it's **_not a Metroid game._*
Wrong about their opinions?
Corey Cale
Yup. ^_^
*****
If Other M would had everything "Metroid" removed from it, it would been a decent action game I wouldn't have minded spending my money on. However, as a *_Metroid_* game, it's the biggest ever disgrace to the series.
Thanks for sharing your opinion.
***** i just beat prime one and started prime 2 and im also loving it...such a grim start and great atmosphere..you feel more powerless bc the threat is higher bc you get to see all the dead soldiers and...its just great
Linkfreak117
I wish I could erase my memories of the Prime series and play it again for the first time, enjoy it, dude!
I may be a Metroid fan but I have to ask: How is this space dragon leader of the Space Pirates when he doesn't look a thing like them?
It doesn't matter the aspect. It was one of the "creators" of the Space Pirates, with Kraid (i'm spanish, plz don't kill me)
+mrguy22494 Considering all the crap they were doing with Phazon on Tallon IV, it seems pretty clear that Space Pirates aren't shy about altering their troops to suit a given function, or just for shits and giggles.
+evilegg288 nope...
Look at it this way. Ridley shows up. "I am your leader now," he states. How many protesting pirates survive this conversation?
Man, I have always loved Ridley's musical theme. First time I heard it in super metroid, I thought it was the best track in the entire game
Wow, I can't believe they ended up going to prom together after all this...
What about the meta Ridley fight in brawl?
While I am well aware Other M is a Metroid Game and Super Smash Bros. Brawl isn't, I hate to say it...
But Other M doesn't deserve a spot in this list. Brawl's battle was much better.
Necra Mancie Brawl. :D
Gameplay wise Other M is a pretty solid entry in the series.
DOOMED ! Eh, not entirely.
Yeah, other m may have completely screwed up samus' character, but the gameplay was freakin amazing.
Jerome Shemon I mean, I'm not gonna argue. I liked running around and murdering everything.
i love the way that Ridley looks like in Metroid Fusion the best version :D
If you wanna get technical, that's not really Ridley :P
Unshaved Stuff i know its a X which mimimic Ridley :P But still look pretty awesome
6:25 -
Samus: "Ridley, you again? Okay, bring it on, Mr. Scaly Pirate.... >:( "
ridley in zero mission is EASY!
ikr
Smash bro brawl that's easy and yet they take so long. Get in there and fight!
All you can do is just... Fire Away!
If you play it in Intense mode then it will be so hard that it will seem unfair
***** No, I was talking about Ridley from Super Smash Bros Brawl, in intense mode the fight it's almost unfair since he's going pretty much too hard on you, specially fighting him as Samus, since in that game she's not that matching with her usual speed with her movement and fire power, don't forget about her airbone movement, she's pretty much slowed down in her entire movement set. The thing is, he'll be hard to kill in the hardest mode of that game, "Intense mode", specially on 1 on 1.
And what do you mean by "Nofair" pun ? Metroid ain't for jokes
You forgot to put in Meta Ridley from Super Smash Bros Brawl dude.
+Jerry Peters ...no he didn't.
22:10
Uh yes he did. end of story.
Jerry Peters
Oh, are we talking about the blue falcon chase scene?
yes
+Jerry Peters What about the first encounter with Ridley on the space station in Super Metroid? Why is that not in here?
Corruption has got to be one of my favorites
I LOVE Metroid Fusion. That game is amazing. Super Metroid and Zero Mission are great too
