Amazing content. While it has been done many times “Biggest Slum in Africa” it’s always more pleasant seeing it from a black person’s lens. Kibera is home to the finest talents Nairobi can offer in music, football, etc. Octopizzo as one of Kenya’s biggest musicians is from Kibra. There’s Ondivow Photography from Kibra whose work has been global. I’m happy to see what the young people are doing with their lives. Kibera is safe and touristy. The population of Kibera is slightly below 200,000 yet they claim it has 2 million people (half of Nairobi)!. Kibera is money-making machine for local and international millionaires. I'm glad you went there on your own. The area has the highest concentration of NGO's per capita. It's like for every 15 people there's an NGO. Explains why you'll hear about it everywhere. The publicity is what keeps the NGOs running. The slum was supposed to be upgraded but there was serious resistance from the powerful forces. Isn't it shocking that UN-Habitat headquarters is just 8km from Kibera but nothing is done about changing? Cartels controlling land, electricity, water, internet, donation funds without paying a dime for it. I'm sure there are drug cartels too. Kibera waa donated by the British to Nubian soldiers who fought in World War I but couldn't go back to Sudan/Egypt after the War.
But it exists U can't wish it away buddy....it's been there as Ur leaders buy helicopters jets cars ...

The first 15 minutes of this video made me take a look back over my life. We complain about our current living situations in the US and these people are "Teflon Toughing" it out to survive. Their living conditions is beyond deplorable, but they still find a way to be happy through it all.

Kenya receives every year on average approximately 3 billion U.S. dollars in foreign aid. And we have to ask the question, why is that not being directed to communities like we have seen in this video. Someone is getting this money and it's certainly not these people. At a guess, and it's only a guess that those in power are the principal beneficiaries of this cash. Corruption seems to be prevalent, at the expense of those who need this financial aid the most.
