    "It's a fine line between Liberace and Oscar Peterson." I gonna put that up on my practice room wall. 😁

    To Adam's comment at the close, I don't think people who routinely question themselves about whether they sometimes come across as arrogant can possibly have much in the way of arrogance in them. Perhaps the second guessing comes from having achieved a great deal in their areas of expertise while having carefully considered, robust opinions in those areas, and combined with a thoughtful and generous soul.
    Speaking of generosity, thank you Adam and Peter for all you bring to these channels. I'm very early in my keyboard journey, yet still get so much from every episode. Cheers to you both!

    I'm hearing an improvement in your playing, Adam. It sounds like you obviously practice what you teach. Listening, transcribing, study with the music. I think it's showing well in your playing.

    Great album... Would you guys consider doing a video about the composition process? E.g. How much do you write out? How you decide on the form, style, arrangement etc...

    Curious how the process for a live one take album differs specifically from recording a concert for a live album?

    Well, I saw most of the afternoon rehearsal livestream. And yet, I still came back for the actual recording stream at night, so I guess I thought it was okay.

      To anyone who wants to know why I'd watch the same show twice in one day:.. it wasn't? Would you only watch the first half of a football game?

    • @GizzyDillespee

      12:22 Personally, I try not to hang out with people who would say it doesn't count because there was a false start. People like that, when they're around, it's like a warning that there will be all kinds of semantics arguments and technicalities in my near future. So, I try to extract myself from that situation. My exceptions are if someone can learn to relax, or if they're nuts, so that it's likely to be a one-off. But then if they're nuts, you gotta figure out if they're too dangerous, physically. Not by testing them, tho! I saw somebody wrestling a bear once, and it turned out, he didn't know the bear, beforehand. THAT guy was nuts, and could put you in a difficult situation. The richest families seem to breed the craziest kids. Those kind of people are way more fun than the semantics, but at this point in my life... IDK. I think I'd rather hang out with the semantics, rather than potentially getting killed and/or arrested, but after 30 minutes, I might ask for a do-over on that decision.

    • @GizzyDillespee
      @GizzyDillespee Před 11 měsíci

      24:08 Yeah you're right. Screw the semantics and technicalities whiners. Let's go find a bear, and bring some instruments.
