The Swedish Valtra Twin Trac machines can have the bucket on the rear so you see the job at hand. The Avant machine from Finland has the boom offset from centre for better viewing.

Man, this was such an incredible machine. So glad I had the opportunity to run it!
The only thing I’d want different would be a conventional 4 in 1 bucket on the loader end, hopefully they become popular enough for some of us smaller companies can get our hands on them. It has all the ingredients to be a highly versatile machine, really does the work of 3-4 machines with one operator.
This thing does so much more than any 3 machines. I can't speak highly enough about this machine.
When you use the bucket up front, you have a small pipe on your right arm, to the left of the hydraulic hoses. There is a small pipe in the pipe and when you tilt the bucket, the innermost pipe should line up with the outermost pipe and then the bucket is parallel to the ground. Good luck from Sweden.
I saw that but didn't take the time to set it since I only had the machine for a week or so. It wasn't lined up correctly from the dealer. My only issue with these sort of indicators is that your cutting edge will change over time and without being able to see your bucket it makes it difficult to adjust on the fly. Thanks for the tip!

It is an incredible machine!
Tilt bucket was a Stantard already 85 or 86 and the Rotor Tilt System became a standard at the end of 90 here in Finland and I have wondered how long American machine drivers are going to be "stone age" during the development 🙂🙂🙂
We hate change over here apparently!! You still can't convince most contractors to buy a tilt rotator. The common response is, "I can buy a whole mini ex for that!" They just can't comprehend how much more efficient it makes them.
Haha.. i keep saying the same thing watching american youtube. I remember trying a volvo with tiltrotator from an operator here in sweden. This was 1992 and it was his second machine with. First one used in sweden was early 80s.
Huddig is a great machine. Name is from the city 'huddigsvall' and not the american word 'dig'
@@moderskeppets the name Huddig is actually a mix of the town where the factory is Hudiksvall, Sweden (with a "k", not a "g") and the English word dig. And the "Hu" in huddig is pronounced short, kinda like the Hu in "Hut"

But there is 1 thing to keep in mind when driving a machine equiped with a tiltrotator. ALWAYS remove the tiltrotator when digging in grounds where can be BIIIG rocks and I meen rocks thats like 2-3m² or bigger. Because digging up rocks those sizees can cause the tiltrotator to break in its weakest points being the 360⁰ turning, the mountingpoints for the tiltcylinders or breaking the tiltcylinders beyond repair so just a smal headsup there. otherwise, cool to see another clip when your working with the huddig 👍👌

@@DieselandIron no problem and everyone is always a beginner in some point in their life 🙂 and I can tell from my many years driving excavators and huddigs thats equiped with tiltrotators, you are doing really good and you are a fast learner 👍 keep driving and you will soon see that you will be able to handle really tough jobs that almost looks impossible 😎

I never remove my Rototilt on my Huddig and I've run it for almost 10 years with no problems and it's not unusual for me to dig up rocks that can weigh 3 metric tons.
On many machines here in Sweden, the tiltrotator is direct mounted on the stick so it cannot be removed..
That is an urban myth here in North America. Sure if you are set up to dig hard shale for two weeks…. Back in Sweden those Roto-Tilts stay on the machine, that combination is superior for civil work and maintenance. Precise and fast. Don’t forget the integrated grapple on the Roto-Tilt unit as well, very useful.
EG When laying optic fibre in older residential areas, they bring a haul wagon with them for spoils and later with bedding sand. Using an off site staging area.
Makes for very clean and organized jobs.
buy and add a lose backing camera on the roof front on the machine and use that to se over your hood. i did buy a nightvision system with 2 cameras front and back on the roof and placed em on the sides to get a top down. buckets go with planning bucket both front and back huddig have power most of the times to skip toof. Try not to jank things upp in the bucket to mutch you have the claw on the rototilt to use that to pick stones. Otherwise welcome to swedish standard.

With today's modern technology, may I suggest to Huddig engineers, install a HD camera near the front of the bucket. This with an HD screen in the cabin, you're set.
That's a solution someone else recommended as well. I think this would help the current model significantly.
Would have been nice with a planning bucket for the back and I agree they could have done a parallel plate at the top on the front so you have something to go by. Cameras mounted in the front of the machine are fairly common to make visibility a bit better, it certainly ain't good.

there is a level idicator on the loader :) but not all bucket have the same tilt angel as original bucket so it dosent work perfect. And Camera is sometgin you can get from the factory/dealer mine has one :) really good sometimes but grading with the right bucket goes fine with almost just felling after a while :)
It's pretty quiet in the cab. I expected it to be louder in the cab.

Have you ever sold or operated a side shift backhoe loader? Like the ones that are mainly found in Europe? They aren’t very common in North America obviously, but there’s at least one company, JCB that still produces them, mostly for big cities and areas where machines are working really close together. Caterpillar produced them for North America a long time ago, but they stopped producing them in NA due to most builders leaning towards the center mounted backhoes with the pivoting outriggers you typically see almost everywhere but they continue to evaluate the market. According to another video I saw, they’re apparently giving the side shifts a second chance in this country.
I haven't operated a side shift. I was talking to one of the Cat guys at their Raleigh facility a month ago and we were discussing the fact that these machines aren't more popular. The North American market is so stuck in their ways that they won't accept the side shift machine even though it has a lot of advantages over the traditional backhoe.

How is parts/service/support
Usually don’t have that with the euro machines in the states and the obsolescence problem
Dealer support will be an issue with this machine for awhile. That being said, it's a pretty straightforward machine to work on and parts aren't bad.
Is there a hydraulic breaker or ripper breaker for this?
Absolutely.
You know, these are fine and dandy machines, but and this is a big one, what happens when it has a malfunction (and it will, sooner or later)?
Since there are just a few dealers in the US, would you have to truck it back or have someone fly or drive to you?
That could be one very expensive proposition.
Most likely the closest dealer would come to help service the machine. This is one of the biggest challenges for Huddig at the moment here in the US.
too late to see this video... regarding the view of the front bucket and its level. If the bucket is original, from the manufacturer of the machine, it should have fasteners welded in the right way. Please look at the right cylinder from the leveling of the bucket, along it there is a thin tube in which there is a rod attached to the upper pin of the loader by the bucket. When you close the loader bucket (on yourself) then this rod comes out of this tube, its tip is painted red. when only the red part of the rod sticks out of that tube, you know the bucket blade is set to push the soil perfectly horizontal to the entire machine. We have two huddig machines in the company, the second one has a non-original loader bucket and this relationship is no longer maintained, a different profile of the entire bucket and mounting. Your reaction to the machine is great, after a year of working on it, I am still impressed with its capabilities. From what I learned from the service technician, Huddig is conquering America and is very well received, which made the waiting period for the new machine much longer, a much larger number of orders. We want more Hudding from you! Show it on the tracks and when working at height, it can be great material!
I noticed the bucket level indicator but I have two issues with this. First, I'm a lazy American and I don't want to have to get out of the cab with some wrenches and manually set this rod. Over time as the cutting edge wears I will have to continuously adjust the rod to keep it indicating level with my cutting edge.
The second reason, and by far the bigger reason I don't like this style of indicator, is because it only works when you are working with the bucket level. If I start trying to shape a pile or a berm with my front bucket, I can't see the angle of the cutting edge in relation to the ground which makes it difficult for me to be accurate. If I had a level spot somewhere on the back of the bucket that I could use for a visual reference, I can be a lot more precise and a lot more productive because I'm not blindly guessing.
I would love to get more seat time in the Huddig. Unfortunately they are only sold through a couple of smaller dealers here in the US and it is difficult to get my hands on one! Fingers crossed we get more Huddig content sometime this year!
@@DieselandIron For me it was set by the factory, I only use the original spoon, sometimes I fasten the forks, but it is well aligned so I have no problem with their level. Yes, everyone talks about it, but the forward visibility is poor. We have B and E versions of the machine in the company - here in this new one (E) the bonnet is much lower and sloped down, so visibility is better, but still average ... I wish you to check out its new version this year, i.e. 1370 and maybe you can do it with the 1370T, I'd love to see it!
@@qbert2505 I plan on badgering the local dealer along with my US Huddig contact to see if I can get the new model onsite. Since they are doing the big reveal at conexpo it will have to be sometime after March. Thanks again for the comment!

That's dependent on the operator and the job you run it on.
😂 thats bullshit…. They are extremly comon and well used all over sweden , and are used for anyting from loading trucks, gigging house grounds, vvs, cables, drenage pipes, Very popular for Snow remowal and road , railroad works.
Fast, strong, acurat, presicion macines.
