    I've owned two, 111 and the 372. Can't say enough about both the watches. I enjoyed the 111 for many years and now am in love with the 372. 372's vintage appeal is off the charts. Fantastic brand that brings a smile on my face each time I look at my wrist.

    Great video. Seeing so much negative stuff from CZcamsrs lately. I really enjoyed your views. I've seen so many people say 'they just use eta movements they are not worth the cost.' Yet they have close to 15 in-house movements now with many complications, 8 and 10 day power reserves, sealed ceramic bearings, complex skeletonised workings and mini rotors. Very few brands actually make such a diverse range of high quality pieces. I've owned a lot of them over the last decade and wear my 323 now all the time as its my favourite out of the 15 ive owned. Love them.

      Never say never!
      I started out with a 1960s gold plated Oris manual wind. I moved onto a couple of Christopher Wards and eventually sold them and put the money towards a Seamaster Coaxial. I then went on to buy a Speedmaster Triple Date and later chopped that in for a Speedy Moonwatch! I have the SeaMaster and Speedmaster in my collection and have since bought a Rolex DateJust, Tudor Hydronaut II, vintage Girard Perregaux HF, Cartier Santos XL, Seiko Alpinist, Omega Day Date tuning fork (hummer) and a PAM0014.
      I’ve also bought and sold vintage Omegas, Girard Perregaux and Jaeger LeCoultre’s along the way!

    Had the 312. Lost it wakeboarding. Wore a Rolex ever since. Always missed the Pam. Got a 372 a month ago. The Rolex was put away ever since. The Pam is such a fun watch to wear. It's "rebellious". And so best worn when it's going against the trend. A rebellious watch that is in trend is an oxymoron.

    I believe that Panerai collectors would be better served by offering a broader range of both classic and contemporary timepieces. Additionally, incorporating a variety of colorful rubber straps could provide an engaging way for collectors to experiment with personalization. A good example would be matching a bright red rubber strap with a PAM 24. It is crucial to avoid having an entire collection of watches that all appear similar in design.

  • @ripperx444
    @ripperx444 Před 5 lety +3

    Old Panerai is good. When the new CEO took over he made it the Aldi of Watch brands.
    1. Push pins on some models
    2. Snap case backs on some models
    3. Low water resistance on some models
    4. Quality issues (I had a roller bearing get stuck and the crown would scratched by the push level when closing and opening)
    5. Worst bezels on the market for their submersibles.
    6. The 682 42mm sub is the last one with the 90110 movement. They raised prices and cheapened it by using a non in house movements
    7. Only one strap comes worth most models now
    The company is cutting corners left and right.

      The Panerai Luminor Due is marketed as a DRESS WATCH with panerai design cues..nothing wrong with having 30m WR on a dress watch.. Even the Breitling Navitimer has 30m WR..and that is a SPORTS WATCH... This false criticism is just coming from hysterical rolex fangirls

    Panerai are just so different and cool looking, I have a Pam 01312 and I love it, I’d never given the brand a second look until one day I walked into Rolex dealer to buy a batman GMT and whilst waiting to be served I was looking at them and they began to appeal to me ,12 months later I bought one, I still own a Rolex which I love but the Panerai is just so different, display case backs are awesome in my opinion, the movement is the magic of a watch so should be visible and the way you can change a strap in seconds is a feature other watch companies need to adopt, change the look easily and keeps the watch fresh and personalised without the risk of marking the case, awesome stylish brand and very unique looking, love them.

    Looked over the Panerai Store in Singapore. The Ceramica with the black ceramic band is beautiful. But the band alone cost as much as the watch with the leather strap. Liked the Radiomir Black Seal (it's cheaper than my Black/Orange Omega 600M), but not a fan of the green glow. I like the brown/yellow glow much better. The submersibles were cool, but the blue second hand feels 'out of place' to me. So I went upstairs to IWC and got my Big Pilot in black so fast it would make your head spin. LOL. Still super happy with the decision. Cost as much as a full Ceramica, but I like it more. I've owned a 312 for over 5 years and it is one of my daily drivers along with an Omega Seamaster. If you are up to 6'1 that should fit great. There are tons of aftermarket strap makers and some of the straps can completely change the watch's look. Keep an eye for the white dial version as well, it has more of a summer look if you are looking for and is usually a bit cheaper.

    Just found this today... you say 'beautifully finished movement'. A buddy of mine is a watchmaker and services panerai. He has shown me that Panny only finishes movement parts that are visible thru the display back. Otherwise, no finishing which IMO is shameful for that price point. JLC for example finishes all parts front and back that only the watchmaker will see, but that to me is a big difference in quality and why panerai kinda cuts corners where they can while charging a premium.

    • @Eric-le8wu
      @Eric-le8wu Před 4 lety +3

      Panerai's crown guards don't "fall off" just like that. It is made off stainless steel and is tightly attached with two screws on the watch. Some serious force is needed to the crownguard to "fall off" the watch. Same for the crown. The crown on my Panerai watch is very solid. Unless you had a fake.

      if you're complaining about panerai using eta and charging 4k for it. What about iwc and hublot? tudor used to do that too.

    • @iaido01
      @iaido01 Před 4 lety

      @@lettuce1305 hublot also sucks ultra major ass. but IWC modifies the shit out of their movements and the finishing is on a very high standard. panerai have meh finishing and only are cosc certified. IWC have their own certificates and those are waaay tougher to get.

    I love my PAM00320
    For a number of reasons
    Power Reserve
    Return to Zero Seconds
    Movement appears so smooth compared to other brands
    Crystal Caseback
    Crown is easy to put back in after setting date/time
    Changeable Straps
    You dont see many people wearing Panerai in London
    I also love my Rolex Explorer 114270 but it does not have these things.
    It doesn't bother me if others dont think its hot who wants to be like everyone else.

    Panerai is a great brand. I own a few of the pieces and I don’t get tired of them. I think something as simple as a 5 or 7 warranty would set them aside from the other watch brands and strengthen Panerai. Rolex in 2015 went from a 2 year warranty to a 5 year warranty, Panerai should do the same or better.

    • @Chepe1000

    You didn't mention the 662 is also a Radiomir, but pointed out it doesn't have a crown guard. That would be because it is not a Luminor. Not sure if that was an omission or oversight?

    @j.anthony I love your vids and this one particularly. I bought a 1312 July 5 2018. New from Miami Boutique. I loved it for months it was spot on accurate then settled in and is about 2-3 sec Slow per day. My only slow watch. I take it off . Return 3 Days latter , running 10-15 sec slow. It kills me to have a slow watch. I paid 7100.00 brand new. It’s a year and a few days new. I don’t want to send to Texas . Please any advice! My 2005 Rolex Subs are 4-6 fast, Same for Roadster, Sinn 104 , even circa 81 Rolex Quartz is a few seconds a day fast. My Omega Moon Pro, a few secs fast and my circa 2003 Breitling Vittese chronograph, 7750 spot on. Just to name a few. All bought new ! From AD by me or late father. Most never serviced in 13-15 years or never serviced at all. I have a pretty cool rounded collection. Please tell me best way to get my Pam-1312 with _ p9010 in house mvmnt.. please reply

      Hi Eric. Some of the Radiomir using ETA movements do not . I have overwound mine (380) twice and twice it has been to their repair center. The watches with in-house movements have the clutch but not all. Do your homework, visit Panerai boutiques and ask questions before investing. Hope this helps.

    Like the Rolex explorer 2 with the white dial but do agree panerai is an understated brand to many Rolex’s around and if you don’t want your arm ripped off this is the brand to have.

    To be honest I have grown a little tired of the massive bulk of my Panerai (I have a model 177, which is a 44mm manual-wind Luminor Marina). I am constantly bonking it on door frames, etc. Possibly I'll trade it in for a 40mm model, but those aren't really as iconic and the only ones I'm aware of are automatics, which only adds to the height. I bought a little Sinn #856 used and it's a much more reasonable size and seems to be the one I wear 90% of the time now.
