This made me hungry haha my fav is boxed stuffing, can of chicken, corn, cream of mushroom soup and a gravy packet. Thanksgiving one pot
How do you make that?
Definitely will give this a try lol sounds awesome!
@@Georgiasomar you put it a pot and heat it
I may have to try this!
Helllll yes. Lol delicious
These are great ideas for lazy dinners at home, too! Thanks :)
They REALLY are.
SUPER-easy thing to make that one might not expect is Korean savory pancakes. Use a pre-packaged cole slaw mix, 2 big handfuls is plenty & some chopped green onions mixed into a savory pancake mix(just a regular mix with some salt, pepper & garlic powder added) with a teaspoon each of soy sauce & sesame oil. You can stir in an egg or two or a can of chicken breast to add in some protein. Just pour em out onto a hot pan or griddle, just like regular pancakes. Easy & delicious! I live in a converted minivan full-time & I have no problem whipping these up!
Sounds Great! Thanks
Wow I would have never thought to make something like that but it sounds really good! I love the idea of making pancake mix savory.
@@amanda.outside another cool thing is that you can change the ingredients around as you like too. Don't like chicken? Fry up some ground pork or beef. Adding the soy sauce & sesame oil to the frying meat REALLY bumps of the flavor profile, giving it that deep 'umame' taste. You could even forego the pancake mix & mix all the ingredients with extra eggs & make Korean omelets.
I don't have refrigeration #vanlife, but if you do(for storage) you can REALLY take it to the next level and add in some kimchi, a Korean spicy pickled cabbage. Just WATCH when you open it - I suggest over the sink - it is an *actively fermenting* food. But oh my lord, there is literally NOTHING like it(it contains LOTS of garlic, Korean chili flake "gochugaru" & fish sauce, among other things. There are videos here on YT showing how to make your own!). You might store the jar inside a plastic ziplock bag; it is quite strong. But pleeeaaase dont let that deter you from trying it! My best friend growing up was from Korea & his parents made kimchi the old school way like back home - in 5-gallon glass jars buried in the backyard! Sooooooo good! You can usually find a commercial kimchi in Walmart in the cold produce aisle.
Thank you for all the great ideas Amanda. I went on my first solo tent camping trip this past weekend in Colorado Springs and I binge watched a ton of your videos beforehand which made me feel very prepared. Your knowledge is much appreciated!
That is awesome! I'm so happy to hear you had a successful trip. That's really why I love making these videos. Glad they were helpful 🤗
Shoutout for these being actually simple and easy and great for families too. So tired of camp cooking recipes that take like 14 ingredients prepped!
Keeping these recipes handy! Easy peasy meals while car camping. My grandgirls love car camping with me and the meals we share, so I am always looking for new ideas. Thank you!
You're so welcome! That must be so much fun taking your grandkids camping and getting to share camp cooking with them. That's what it's all about!
Cooking beef at home before you go is such a great idea! Thanks for the tips
You can't beat Aidells sausage..so lean every time, great flavors too! Love that it's precooked..you are a pro at these meals!!
The chicken sausage is so perfect for camping. I put it in a lot of meals for an easy boost in protein! Thanks for commenting 😁
Wow, cooking the ravioli right in the sauce. So smart!
Food eaten in the wilderness tastes soooooo delicious.
This is so helpful! Planning easy camp food is the hardest part about getting ready for camp, and now I have 11 new things to try, thanks!
I love these ideas! It seems like we often stay out hiking and exploring until way late and find ourselves making a late dinner at trail's end before heading back to camp. These will work perfectly for when we are tired, hungry, and in a hurry and don't want to make a huge mess. Thanks for sharing!
These are great! I can't wait to try the couscous. A twist on the taco is fajitas. I prep the veggies and slice some chicken at home then cook in the cast iron with a fajita seasoning packet at camp. One pot and so delicious. Thanks for your hard work on these videos and sharing your experiences.
For a real simple meal (good for lunch) instead of box mac and cheese I like the Annie's (or Cracker Barrel or other brand) of shells and cheese that comes with a cheese sauce packet. That way I don't need milk or butter when making it and I can keep a couple in my food box as extra/just in case meals.
Love this video! Please do more! 😂 I struggle with finding meals that will please the whole family and these look so good! I love the fact they use so little ingredients because my husband always says I overpack 😅😂 Can’t wait to try!
I did make the jambalaya recipe on a camping trip and it was amazing! Definitely made it a few more times after!!
I love shopping at Trader Joe’s before I go camping! A go to meal is their box of mushroom risotto with sliced up chicken sausage. So easy!!
Love all these ideas! Definitely gonna keep these in mind for our next trips! Thanks, Amanda!
I think you read my mind😁. Literally couple hours ago I told my husband I need to find some one pot meals for our next trip. I opened up YT and your video was right there!
Another great video, as always! Keep it up! 👍😊
Same! 😊 Was just thinking today, need some one pot camping meals! Enjoy your next trip 😋🏕️
@@jennerzlistens1522 Thanks, you too!
Thank you. I am a fan of the cast iron too. All of these look like things I would eat.
Thank you for making that video. That's very helpful! I started camping this year and I really didn't want to eat noodles every time but struggled to come up with easy meals
I am such a nature lover but for some reason didn't start camping til last year. Even tho I love to cook I waa apprehensive to cook while camping cause camping was a learning curve itself lol but......I found your videos, binge watched ALOT and first big meal was packaged rice, inidian curry chickpeas and Naan bread! It was fantastic and sooooo easy to do camping. Love love love your videos!!!!!! Thank You!!
These are great, simple ideas. I am bookmarking this video for my next camping trip!!!!
... Awesome ideas Amanda .. You always have interesting videos with need to know subjects and your meals and meal preps are the BEST out there .... A one pot camp meal is always a PLUS , usually , as said , running out of time from the days activity or just not in the mood for a drawn out camp meal ,, heck ,, I don't cook big meals at home either .... A little pre-prep is a time saver ,, along with occasional time spent with a dehydrator and vacuum sealer .... Stay Safe and enjoy your time in the outdoors !! ...
Definitely adding these recipes to my camping dinners. Thanks for sharing!
Last time I went camping I made tacos (in the rain over a campfire). It was a little stressful without a camp stove but I will say, it tasted awesome! Thanks for these ideas.
Perfect timing I have a week in Yosemite coming up. Thank you for the suggestions.
Currently prepping for a cross country drive with our teardrop in tow. So many of these meals should help keep costs down and tummies warm for early bedtime.
I'm planning on getting out this coming weekend, I'm going to do the Indian and rice pre-made packs.
The Quesadillas are a great idea. I haven't camped much, but I will definitely be making some on my cast iron! Thank you!
I like to use the little baby bottles of wine instead of some or all of the water in the boxed rice/risotto dishes. I rarely drink it but I love the flavor it gives food (and the alcohol cooks out when simmered). Yum!
Great suggestions, going to try a couple on my upcoming trip to the Adirondacks. Thanks for sharing.
Great ideas Amanda!
Thanks Amanda. I am definitely adding your jambalaya recipe to my car camping meal rotation!
I hope you enjoy it! It's one of my favorites.
Good day to you!
I am a senior rider on HONDA Cross Cub from Japan.
I am enjoying camping, touring and upload video.
This is so nice cooking video!
Awesome!
I will try this!
Have a nice day my friend!
For car camping I really love my cast iron Dutch oven. The lid is also a frying pan.
Thanks Amanda! Love your vids
That was wonderful. Thank you so very much.😊
Always great ideas.
These are awesome thank you
this helped me soooo much thank you!!
Wicked video! Thank you! ❤
You have fantastic food ideas!
Thanks Amanda!
You're welcome!
This video and the ideas are so helpful! I'm vegan and no one I camp with is so I'm trying to take charge of my food and not just do dehydrated food for convenience 😂 I want to enjoy my food and your ideas make it easy and totally doable. Thank you!! I love all your videos. They're so fun to watch 😃
Great ideas ❤😊
Going to keep a couple of these in mind for home, also! lol
We do not get much snow in NC, but when we do, the power always seems to go out in my area. These would be so great for those instances too!
Thank you very useful
Awesome video
Love your ideas. We have a big gang camping so we need to double the recipe.
These are all really easy to double and make for a bigger group! Enjoy 🤗
I use those 12oz cans of Roast Beef that I buy at Walmart 3 ways. The Ramen I told you about. I also make 2 beef tacos by sautéing some sliced onions with the drained roast and season with some black pepper, cayenne, and paprika. The add some soy sauce and top with pepper jack cheese. My other use for canned roast is to sauté the meat with a little chopped onions, seasonings, a little soy sauce, then add 1 can condensed Cream of Chicken soup (plus 1/3 can water). It is a creamy thick soup with meat.
for me any syle of asian hotpot is the best thing ever while camping. There exists a ton of borth mixes you just add to hot water at any asian grocery store, then just throw that in a pot and have an asortment of thinly slices veggies and meat to cook quickly up in the broth as you eat (thinly slices pork or beef is a classic, thinly sliced mushrooms are very good, nappa cabbage etc). Perfect meal to share and the broth will be perfect out in cold weather just like a soup would
Nothing better than simple and quick after a day on trail. Great ideas 💡 😛🥾🏕🔪
... or when that last cast is about 2 dozen casts later ..
Great ideas. I'm going to pass this along to our chef in our scout troop who keeps looking spaghetti every trip. If he does not change, I will get off the optional meal plan and make 2 of these dishes. 😁
Never thought of it this way before but I do One Bag meals most of the time. I could do the same with your one pot meals and my dehydrator. Making them one bag meals. I already have one to perk up the Ramen. I add 3 tablespoons of Harmony House vegetable soup mix and 2 tablespoons of the dehydrated Cabbage plus a shot of hot sauce. ( small bottle in my pack )
Backpacking you want light weight food that's easy to pack but tastes good. Using freeze dried vegetables and meats I make the meals at home and pack them in Zip Lock Freezer bags.
In simple terms......Freezer bag cooking is nothing more then heating some water to near the boiling point , adding it to the bag and waiting the required amount of time for everything to reconstitute.
Great video quick yummy fooDs
We love the Jambalaya
Hello there. We make most of our food before we go camping. Salads baked beans and other stuff less cooking more fun time at camp. Have lots of fun camping 🏕️🏕️🤗😊😊
..cool video keep up the great content.. Thank you…
Nothing beats a huge slab of fresh bear meat seared on a hot rock next to a roaring wood fire!
And hope it's mate isn't around
Thanks for these ideas. I pretty much eat shepherds pie every night at camp (switching up the protein and veggies), so some of these will be a nice change 😅
You made me hungry!
yes, ravioli is yumm, another option is tortellini, the dry kind with some italian sausage and garden pasta sauce.. Tacos are their own food group LOL..... the risotto would be awesome with morels and boletes ... always yummy stuff in your camp, thanks for sharing....
haha yea tacos are definitely a food group! I love these variations. The risotto with morels would be awesome!
Yum! You can make a quick soup with tortellini & a few veggies. Easy for cook & kids love it. I cut up a cooked whole chicken, freeze in packets & use in various meals. Love your channel Amanda
I love you vids
Awesome easy recipes we’ll definitely be trying out. Do you have a similar video for easy and quick backpacking recipes?
Not yet, but that's a great idea for a video!
O.K, now I'm starving!
Instead of the Mac and cheese that you need to drain, Pasta Roni makes a shells and cheddar flavor that you don’t drain. I always bring a few boxes when we camp.
what a smile
New sub ! Liked 🤘🤘✌️
I have a two part stove at the moment because my stove said poof. I will try some meals from this video. Because i cant make the most difficult dishes at the moment. i need to be creative
Coffee Stipend!
That's so sweet! Thank you! 🤗
Hot dogs and beans, my fav one pot camp meal...
This video was perfect timing. Great ideas. We like chili, can you recommend a good one? We are flying to a destination, rent a car and go to camp site. We can't prepare at home and take it with us. Any suggestions?
Chili would be a great idea for a meal. Unfortunately I can't think of any store bought chilies that I've tried recently. Sorry I couldn't be more help with that. I hope you have a great trip!
Get the boxed 2 Alarm chili kit, then get the canned tomatoes and buy some ground beef and onions, cook at the campsite.I assume you will have a stove & pan to cook?
We had sloppy joes a lot as a kid. Making me miss beef ha
Risotoe,? It's rizotta woman😁 good video !
Risotto
👍👍🙂
👍🏽😋
Hi you the one who acted with surya in tamil film ? 😮
Can't hold cast iron.
Here is a better Ramen recipe. Break up Beef Ramen into small pieces. Stir fry some chopped onions and one 12oz can of Roast Beef (drained). Add some black pepper, paprika, cayenne pepper, and 1 TBSP of flour to meat while heating up. When meat is ready, add some Soy Sauce. Then add 1 1/2 cups of water, broken up Ramen pieces and 1/2 seasoning packet. Bring to a boil than let it sit on low for 5 minutes. The flour would make the remaining water into a thick gravy.
Jambalaya requires celery. Celery, green bell pepper, and diced onion are called the Holy Trinity in Louisiana cooking. Pretty much everything starts with that - red beans and rice, gumbo, etouffe, jambalaya. You leave out the trinity, it's wrong.
She's not native
You had me at sloppy Joe Omg that was good 👍🏼
All carbs all the time
Ramen, Risotto, and the other boxed meals? You sure have a lot of salt in your diet. But then, who am I to talk! I'd pack the same things!
My wifeeee says you can cook or use the pot an pan to control your MAN …🍺🍺
Those look like things eaten by people who don't really like food or cooking. My dog would love all of it though.
Those gotta be the whitest tacos ever
Your taco makes me so fucking sad
Unfortunately I still must be careful with sugar, salt and all the other chemicals even when camping.
Not one healthy keto friendly meal. All contain to much sugar and carbs. Basically all processed foods except for the proteins you added. But everyone is free to eat however they choose.
Then don’t watch the video
@@BenjaminPinard How is one to know the content of the video without watching it smart ass?
All I saw was a lot of talking to the camera, with a few quick images of actual food.
... That just shows how quick and easy it is ....
Well done. You can see!
Take some time and sleep, you really need it
For someone who “loves” nature, Your carbon footprint must be insane
This is reheating. Not cooking. Wasted my time.
