In today’s episode of Figuring Out, we have Ryan Fernando in conversation with Raj Shamani.
He has been a nutritionist to Virat Kohli, Rohit Dhawan and many of your favourite athletes. He has also been a health coach to actors like Shahid Kapoor, Aamir Khan and many other celebrities. His knowledge around nutrition and overall well being is truly insightful. After listening to him, you will know your body and food better.
In this episode we started by taking my blood sample for testing the Omega-3 content in my body. Then we talked about the nutrition levels in the city grown vegetables. He shared an interesting case study on how sleep and a good diet affects the body and overall efficiency. We talked about how much protein is too much protein and different whey proteins that are good and dangerous for our body. We further talked about reasons behind low testosterone levels and foods for brain health and how kids can have a better brain development. He also shared the reasons behind decreasing sleep quality and different ways to fix it. He also revealed a shocking experience of his in connection with Wifi and sleep.
Towards the end, we talked about his top client Virat Kohli, what makes him the best at what he does, his qualities and experience working with him. Listening to Ryan F realised that its not about which pathy or feild of medicine its about the person who is representing it ,his depth about the subject ,willingness to share it honestly.. like be it what ayurveda has told about aahar(diet) or what modern age nutrition has to say .. being an ayurvedic practitioner I found out throughout the podcast almost all basics of diet are similar. Purusham purusham vikshyam says Ayurveda -Each person is unique and shld be treated accordingly and here we are into genetics ,how wonderful. Truely grateful for podcast.

@@luckypossible2481 dude, begining is tough. Weight loss is more of a mental game. I knew i was heavy and was with lack of resources, so i made the journey long run. For first year i only focused on eradicating junk and fast food and started moving more. By the end of first year i started counting my calories and learned how to be in deficit. Also, after 18 month from starting i started lifting weight, All this sumup to the weight loss.
I'm a practicing counseling psychologist and found this episode excellent. Going to share it with my clients. Keep it up Raj. God bless.

Very informative podcast..
from last 3 years I have changed my diet and lifestyle.. I eat very healthy food (low carbs, high fat and high protein) and 3 miles walk a day. I used to eat outside food twice a week but now I hardly eat outside may be once every two months.. i can see lots of beautiful changes in my body including mentally and physically..

So, stop making excuses and train and eat dude. Even I've got below average genetics, but I managed to get a decent physique. Because I ate the same damn thing for over a year every single day. And worked out like twice a day (Because I was an intern and I had a lot of time and testosterone).
