Ooh hard but a great lesson, I find any of the classical are a great way to improve as they cover so many chords. Thanks again.

Loved Linus and Lucy since i heard Wynton Marsalis play it with his dad. Good tip to put it in my repertoire!

I always see these videos as like a guitar hero grid, and video curator is just casually hitting a perfect score while having a conversation w you.

Hey do you think you could make a lullaby of the leaves tutorial? If not that’s alright. Nice tutorial!

At 3:45 I hear you say "you can play that with your ring finger and thumb" and see you playing with middle finger and thumb. To me latter is the logic choice as the next position is a full octave and my 3rd finger will then rest on f. So I don't understand the remark about the ring finger. I find it confusing to say something different than what is showing.

Could you please do a tutorial on Rag Dolly from the Raggedy Ann And Andy musical? I grew up with it and I can’t find any way to play it anywhere. ❤️🙏

Honestly, I just clicked on the video because I saw Guaraldi in the thumbnail, but this is great. I've needed a few songs that improve my technique, especially as a beginner.

Awesome, so cool you found the video! On those lines, you can also have a look at our recent video - "Piano drills that don't suck". You'll find three very famous songs there, which have very cool piano parts that can help you with technique as well, each one in their own way.
Thanks for watching, fellow Guaraldi fan! ❤️

Does the E in the chord @ 1:58 have to with the 4th finger rather than the 3rd ? If so why ?

    • @HDpiano

Instructor here! Sorry for taking so long. Great question. My hand has a wider opening between my 4th and 5th fingers than between my 3rd and 4th. That's why I use the ring finger, but if it suits you better to play it with the middle finger, that's perfectly correct too. Happy practicing!

Thank for this. The rhythm would be infinitely easier to understand and explain if you just added little bars numbered 1+2+3+4. Then you show with an arrow where each beat falls. Also it would really help if you actually name the chord and inversion. E.g. Aflatsus2 first inversion for the Lucy song. May as well teach a little chord theory while you’re at it.

In this video he's counting it half a beat ahead, what he calls "1 and" should really be "and 1," so that might be adding to your confusion
