The diversity of this channel has been impressive as hell. There's been everything from live streams to Q&As, to stories about Floor's life, to interviews with other artists, to cover videos, to vocal masterclasses, etc. I've always thought that Floor was a multi-tasker anyway because someone on her level kind of can't "not" be that way, but she's been really pulling out all the stops here. Hello!
I'm a voice teacher. I studied five years at the academy of music to become one, and I have been teaching as my full time job for 12 years.
Most of the time when "voice teachers" do masterclasses online they explain poorly, inaccurate or generalize a lot.
As a masterclass on singing this is VERY good and well explained. And I totally agree, when you want to get further, find yourself a teacher, IRL or online. And make sure to find a well educated teacher, preferably with a degree and one with a couple of years experience, and one who is familiar with the musical style you are interested in.
Remember, a good singer isn't always a good teacher. It might be true in the case of Floor, but it's not true with everyone else. Internet is flooded with "voice teachers" who doesn't really know their trade. Choose carefully.
Once again, Floors videos are VERY good, she knows her shit. She's not only a fabulous singer, she is also a good teacher.

I’ve been a voice specialist for what seems like forever, but over the past ten years or so, I haven’t done a lot of singing myself. I found that even though I would teach the basics and help others improve, my own singing would tire me out easily and I’d find myself hoarse and my throat sore, even though I was singing in small spaces when I used to sing in large venues. Maybe I had gotten lazy, I don’t know, but a couple hours of using the information Floor so graciously shared with us and I was singing with more range and power than I had in years and for over an hour without getting hoarse. I was left with greater resonance rather than rasp. Thank you so much Floor! I have long felt gratitude and respect for your talent and the catharsis you’ve helped me find through your performances, but now I must thank you for helping me remember my own talent as well. A thousand thank you’s are not enough, I await your next lesson with bated, though muscularly supported and centered breath, Thank you, Floor, for all that you are.

As a yogi, yoga teacher and breathwork geek I am so glad to see you bringing attention to all those other breathing areas of the body apart from the upper lungs. More than one vocal coach reacting to NW vids has noticed that your shoulders don't lift on the inhale. Thanks in part to years of practice long before I kew what I was doing, and my training in yoga as a yoga teaher I pretty much have the breathing part down - I can basically mirror the breathing in songs like Wachen GSL, which I know best - now to work on my *drowning tone-deaf crow* vocals ;-) Hari Om

It is so good to have someone you admire teaching you what to do like a regular person. It shows what kind of person you are, even though you are a world class singer. I love singing, I watched tons of tutorials on CZcams, and I always focus on the breathing. In the beginning of the song. Somewhere in the middle, everything goes away and I just sing with the throat or something, I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but at the end of 2 songs I have no voice. I will try to relax the body next time. I always sing flexing the abs to feel the muscles, maybe that's wrong. Thanks for the tips boss!

Good evening Floor, thanks for the great tutorial video, I had a fracture of my right upper jaw in an accident ... the exercise, according to you, helped me move it, thanks 👍😊

I believe that those breathing techniques are also very helpful for people with panic attacks and people who have a lot of tension in their neck or back. Keep you’re breathing low. Make you’re exhale longer then the inhale. Keep your shoulders low and your back straight, and try to relax your jaw. Very difficult when stressed out and specially during a panic attack but also really helpful.
I wish my English was a little bit better so I could really be specific.

I'd like to see other vocal coaches making reaction videos to this video or even people trying those exercises, heh.
You inspired me to learn multiple singing styles, while still trusting my body...
Breath support is the tecnique I struggled with the most, but nowadays I just rely on my body to do the job for me, and it works...! Thanks for the masterclass series, Floor! It's truly interesting.

Breathing practice is a part of my daily routine because of a muscular disease, and I could right away understand what you, Floor, meant when you spoke how important controlling breathing muscles really is when you sing or even speak. Even though I don't sing myself I love to watch your teaching.

No but seriously, I know I don't have talent but I think I'm not that bad and I've been considering taking classes to at least feel confident with myself, and having such a legend like Floor giving some tips is getting me motivated. Thanks a lot Floor.

I started karaoke singing three years ago, just for fun, feeling myself improving by time but I never knew what exactly I am doing better. Now, after watching these previous videos, I understand better and hope to improve more. I even started thinking about finding a teacher ( although I'm 45..) because I really really love singing! These videos are a previous gift. THANK YOU, Floor❤️

Hmmm... this isn't boring... This is fun! I play the trombone (amateur) and "signed up" to this class because I hope to learn more about breathing support. Now I have been doing FFFF's and Aaaaaah's and it feels strangely at home actually! What if I can gain some confidence to open my mouth and make some noices without a mouthpiece in front of it too?! -We'll see... Anyway, to have the opportunity to learn from you, Floor... That is a pleasure. Thank you!

13 years ago i started singing lessons with my lovely teacher. And 13 years ago, I did the same breathing exercises and precisely THESE exercises, exactly in the same way as you did (hands on stomach and on the lower belly, don't stress the jaw, don't move the head up and down, the finger on the upper tooths... all the same. After 13 years, i'm really glad to see these exercises brought to all of us by one of the most talented female singers and I deeply glad to my teacher for all the patience, support and love she gave to me over and over the years. This video remember me how important are these basics, how important is to repeat these on a regular basis, how important is for me singing and also how important is for me my teacher. Seeing you doing these exercises in the same manner i made 13 years ago it was really a big pleasure. Thank you Floor and I hope to see many other videos about your youtube masterclasses. I enjoyed it so much!!!

Dear Floor, thank you very much for this! I am not a singer and I never aspired to be one. But this, like the reaction videos of a select few other singers/vocal coaches has helped/is helping me to appreciate what you and other singers do on an entirely different level and even more so than before. Please keep doing what you are doing, it is most highly appreciated!
