I don' t have that much time right now, but I am practising your exercises and tipps before bed. My puppy likes to cuddle with me before bed and he doesn't seem to hate my breathing and singing practise...so I guess that is not bad🐕🦺

I'm sure in twenty years or so a worldfamous artist is going to answer the question in an interview "How did you become a singer?" with "Well, as a kid i found the masterclasses of Floor Jansen on youtube and the rest is history."
I've been actually doing them since she uploaded the video and they really help 👍🏻

I loved this and my neighbours sure loved it too, hearing me do this warmup on Christmas hahaha ♥
As a classical music student who knows a lot of classical singers it's very interesting to see how much your vocal techniques and warmups are related to the stuff I hear them do. I expected it would have a lot more in common with what the jazz/pop department singers do, but actually it's closer to classical. Very cool!

ahaha, well it's somewhat true, Floor is just giving some insights, but as she said already you do need someone to look over you while you do exercises and correct mistakes. Then you will probably need someone else to correct the mistakes that first one allowed (or taught) you to do.

I think having some vocal lessons with a coach is necessary to understand what Floor is talking about here, but these exercises are fantastic! I'm glad you pointed out the necessity of having enough twang... Also the feeling of biting into an apple is seriously helping me! I don't take weekly lessons, I only take them when I'm able to afford them, but this is seriously helping me build on the knowledge I already have so thank you Floor 😭

There are many great professional vocal coach reactors, who can sing very, very good. You just need to find them ;-)

Hi Floor, I love your Master Classes… Jor explaining of what You are doing is so great! That’s really important for me, because I’m blind and I have to use my ears to get through all those excercises. Booth Music is the Air to breath, the water to drink and the food to eat for my soul!

I have to admit, you got me thinking. I do a lot of open mics, and I REALLY should warm-up at home. Many times, I have been up, and my throat wasn't ready for a particular song and it showed. REALLY bad. Now I warm up in the car if I forget.

I was able to find the option of subtitles in Spanish and now I feel completely happy. I don't think I would have imagined having a vocal coach like you in my life. completely grateful for these incredible things that you are giving us.
before starting singing i always use this video for my vocal warm up. I think is the best way of warming up, my favourite singer of all times , teaching me how to warm up ... love you Floor.

Not a singer...but I always have been interested in the mechanics of singing and why things sound the way they do and how that occurs. So far you have really helped me understand that tremendously. After watching this especially, I totally agree with what your father said about you on the Rock Academy video in regard to singing in a band like Nightwish being as much of a physical aspect as a top sports star. There is so much fine muscle control and muscle memory that is used by you and other singers to do what you do night in and night out on tour -crazy. Have tickets for a show in the states this coming year so fingers crossed I get to see you and the guys live and up close. Thank you for doing these. 🤘🎤

This vídeo helped me to clear my throat, to activate my muscles (even to identify them), and to project my voice 😍 It's really easy to understand everything you say while practicing, there are so many things to be aware of, all happening at once, but I wasn't aware about everything.

one of my biggest problems to reach out the high notes was that i took a lot of air before singing them, and this video helped me to realize that i don't need to much air, but support! dankjewel to the real queen of The Netherlands
Loved the tip on not breathing in too much air! Now I know what I was doing wrong! 🤗

Wait a second, I'm not a singer but I found this class very useful for me, I'm one of those that when speak it sounds very slow 😔 like I try to speak louder but still too slow it seems, maybe it's the way I take breath before speaking... The "yeah" part will help me a lot.

I remember trying to sing the high notes of Kamelot’s Elizabeth and practicing it at work everyday. Then one day, I woke up not only able to reach that note, but also almost sing Rhapsody of Fire’s The Legend Goes On perfectly

Hello Floor! Thank you for making this video. There are so many reasons why finding your video is so very serendipitous for me today. Your voice is stunning as you know. What has always awed me is that you take your instrument to musical lands I have never even entertained because I felt my voice didn't fit those genres. The way you have used your instrument to bring music of so many styles to life is inspiring!

This IS amazing! I never sang so I am still trying to understand, it feels like the inverse of what we are used to. When you say relax or let go, that's actually when you breath in, and when you are controlling the muscles is during the breathing out. Fascinating stuff. I would always associate relax with breathing out all at once. I love your didactic!

Thank you so much for this lesson, I knew all of the excercises from my former singing lessons. But after a jaw surgery 2 years ago I stopped everything around singing as I have no feeling in my chin and lips anymore. I felt ashamed doing lessons in front of somebody as I cannot feel what I am doing..With this video I was motivated and I tried the exercises. It is totally different from my Last lessons, as I need to concentrate on the movements and sometimes I was far away from relaxed (I think, I cannot feel it ), but anyway I tried and I had fun.
I don't even sing, but man do I enjoy watching these!
