ASMR Request/History of Native Americans (Soft Spoken only) Page Turning and reading/Library book.

  • This video comes as a result of a request for reading or talking about History in general. Since I am American and I love the stories of Native American Indians, I decided to go with that topic. This book was so comprehensive that I could hardly cover it. Barely scratched the surface! But the page turning and the images were striking and satisfying to see and hear. Please enjoy this request from Julia. It's been a long wait for her.
The sounds in this video will be thick page turning, dust jacket crinkles & soft spoken reading.

Robecca thank you for this video! I’m a Lakota Sioux from the Rosebud Tribe. My grandmother, Doris Leader Charge was in the movie Dances With Wolves. She also was the teacher of the Lakota language to Kevin Costner and the other film actors the Lakota language. I’ve been following you for a year now and just love your videos and your voice. @@RebeccasBeautifulASMRAddiction My grandma was from Rosebud, South Dakota. She was born there and lived her whole life in Mission/Rosebud. She passed in 2001. She said yes to an opportunity to leave her Lakota reservation and teach filmmakers about her language and culture. Her decision led to her spending months on a movie set, co-starring in the film, and standing on the stage at the Academy Awards sharing her heritage with millions of people! It was a very big deal for Lakota Nation. ✊🏽👏🏽❤️

Being from Idaho and living in a state with many Native American names for towns, counties, mountain ranges, rivers, etc., I recognized a lot of tribal names. Many people think "Idaho" is a Native American word--it was actually a made up word meant to sound Native American and was originally meant for Colorado which is of Spanish origin! I also find our Native American history very fascinating and have done specific research in the seven clans of the Cherokee since that's my paternal family's lineage (I'm 1/16 Cherokee!) who settled in NE Alabama (my dad was born and lived there until age 15). Great book and lovely reading!

Very interesting!! I have a smidge of Native American blood in me, I am told. But I am mostly German, English and Irish. That’s so cool that you know your background so well. No surprise that there are so many “Indian” namesakes in Idaho. Much the same way in Montana. What part of America was not intrinsic to Native American culture? So many tribes! I never knew there were so many.

I appreciate your introduction. I know that a lot of people (especially usa) are okay with being called "Indian". I just know that the area I'm from, Northern BC, Canada there are many that are completely against this label. There are some older generations that stick to old terminology such as "Indian tacos" and other casual references, but a lot from my area really really despise the term "Indian" to refer to Native Americans or Indigenous. I know you're respectful and kind. But I just wanted to say this. :)

Hi Rebecca, remember that to move forward in truth and reconciliation we need to use proper terminology. We should be using Indigenous or Indigenous Peoples. The term Indian is harmful and a generalized term that should not be used unless an Indigenous person identifies as such. Let's be respectful and move forward together :)
