The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived is criminally low. It’s cinematic, and one of the best produced songs she has. That along with the gut-wrenching lyrics. And it’s so much deeper than a lot of the songs that were ranked above it. It’s one of her hidden jems, it sounds so much different than her other stuff. (How is DOWN BAD snd I Can Do It With A Broken Heart above this?😭😭)
Invisible and You Belong With Me both have the exact same theme/same idea/plot and is just inferior in every way. i will take this chance to share my top 10 and in what positions you placed them 10- Ready for it? - the intro is just everything, and just like you said, its the perfect balance of the themes of reputation(5) 9- Style - this song makes me want to model in my kitchen lol (14) 8- Wildest dreams - the chorus omg (2) 7- Dear John - this and Couldve Wouldve Shouldve are like the two sides of a coin and i swear every time i listen to either of them i need to play the other one, in particular this one has the best vocals of any taylor swift song ever (9) 6- Couldve Wouldve Shoudve - its like the same song as Dear John but from a total different person and so filled with anger (6) 5- Champagne Problems - THE BRIDGE (77) 4- Cruel Summer - this song made me listen to taylor (7) 3- August - an absolute masterpiece, the best song of loving someone that doesnt feel the same that has ever existed (29) 2- MIrrorball - this song has the best analogy taylor has ever used in her career, altough i understand why most people love it but no one really has it that high (44) 1- Right where you left me - i spent the entire video thinking "i just hope he does not place my favourite song above 100" then "i hope its at least on top 50"... Totally agree on Slvt!, False God, I hate it here, happiness, Florida, Daylight, Dear John, Tolerate it, rwylm, WCS, RFI and others. And god, I have seen NO ONE talking about the production differences between the OG atw and the tmv. The tmv is so much softer and honestly if it has the ogs production I might like it more, obviously still ICONIC, but the production is not really it.
It's ok - the original All Too Well will always be my favorite over the 10 min version too. The one line I feel could have been slipped into the original on the last chorus (while keeping the rest the same) that I feel would have elevated it is, "You kept me like a secret, but I kept you like an oath. Sacred prayer, and we'd swear to remember it all too well."
The fact people still think after 3 months The Alchemy is about Travis when you have lyrics that clearly condradict that possibility is mind blowing "I'm making a come back to where I belong" eg
What a joyful ride. I was a fan since fearless album and I remained one my whole life. Taylor 's discography feels like a diary to me. I'm glad you picked "right where you left me" as your #1 when I lost my mom I used to listen to that song on repeat. Time passed me by and I was still waiting for her to show up cause I couldn't handle the fact that she is gone forever. That's the magic of Taylor swift. You can interpret the meaning of the songs as you want them to and I don't think you should apologise to anyone for liking or disliking the songs cause they are personal to every single one of us. Totally get these are your opinions, and actually I do agree with most of your bottom tier and your favorites! But, I always thought Dorothea was from the perspective of a female friend, not from a guy. It's much more sympathetic, at least to me, and I know many women who can relate to friends drifting apart, but still remembering them and thinking of them, and not necessarily in a bitter way. That resonates with me. And I love the folksy upbeat but not too upbeat melody and lyrics. It's not one of my favorites, but not one of my last either.

my top 50; *#1 Style* • top 2/3 fav song of all time. The production. The lyrics. The selling of the emotions she felt (the shaky "out of style" at the end is brilliant. The explosive bridge, which i think is one of her best ever. An acual true masterpiece. *#2 Wildest Dreams* • another 1989 song, and happened to be the other best one. The atmospheric production and vocals are incredible. I kinda hate how nobody talks about the MV version. Bc THAT is the version i downloaded and listen to. The drums at that climax are perfection. Bc the first chorus kinda goes seamlessly from pre-chorus to it, then a little beat drop at the 2nd chorus, and then, the 3rd one has not only a beat drop but the full beat until the end. Also the bridge is one of the best ever and the synth-y sounds building for the second half and the end just to go into the breakdown and her low voice and then that climax.... incredible song. Also as someone who does not love TVs as much as the OGs, This one is acually pretty close to the OG. MV or album version. *#3 ...Ready For It?* • it just happened to appear... at #5 on the list just as i started writing this, and i'm so happy it is that high. This is a song i come back to a lot. It has big production and big vocals and that is what i look for a lot of the time. It also has that confidence and power in it overall and i love that i feel like that when i listen to it. And the high notes at the climax i mean c'moonnn. Best song off of her best album. *#4 Out Of The Woods* • yet another 1989 song in Top 5. It is that good of an album. The anxiety part of the song is maybe my favorite thing bc it is all throught the song, especially at the chorus. And i love the repetetiveness of it. I love the bridge. Possibly her best ever and easily one of the best ever, it's fast and it's powerful, vocally, sonically, and emotionally. I also love the little white sound at the beat drop leading into it. And the climax combining the "haaa-ah aahh" as the background vocals is brilliant. *#5 mirrorball* • probably my theme song, my personal anthem. I acually heard this song in full for the first time when i heard folklore in full for the first time, September of last year. Yes, that late, mostly bc i knew i would not love the album and i wanted to wait and when i heard little parts of it, i kinda knew i would love it, and now i do, altho it was not my fav at the first listen (it was #4 the same rating as august at #3 btw) It kinda got here fast, bc i loved the vocals on the verses and the snow-y and slighty psychadelic production so fucking much and that chorus is captivating. Also the bridge is incredible as well. Now that was before i fully understood the lyrics. Lyrics rarely have a big part in my liking of the song but this time, i defenitely ralated. This song can be easily interpreted as the song for ones who give more than they recieve. Im sorry I need to talk about seven the song is beautiful in the lyrics but if you listen to what the character said in the story you can see the subtext of the song. With lyrics like " I think your house is haunted your dad is always mad that must be why" you can see the other characters dad is an achoholic and therefore well it seems like the theme is nostalgia the theme is actually nostalgia vs. reality. Show casing how the character looking back on the past see's a better version of what happened as their seeing from their perspective when they were 7.
I noticed the parallels between seven and happiness as well, they are both track 7, just like how Majorie and Epiphany are both track 13, so the parallels are probably intentional
also in my opinion a lot of the ttpd tracks will age well with time, even just after a few months most songs have grown a lot on me. i wasn't really impressed with waolom at first but now it's one of the tracks that hit the most, especially after getting to see the eras tour performance live which was imo one of the best of the whole night

I agree with the All too well 5 min being better and I think its because the sound is so nostalgically beautiful due to the country like sound, which is honestly why I love so much of RED like Holy Ground, Everything has changed, Treacherous and even the more pop like songs hit that feeling that I love. ❤

7- Dear John - this and Couldve Wouldve Shouldve are like the two sides of a coin and i swear every time i listen to either of them i need to play the other one, in particular this one has the best vocals of any taylor swift song ever (9)
6- Couldve Wouldve Shoudve - its like the same song as Dear John but from a total different person and so filled with anger (6)
5- Champagne Problems - THE BRIDGE (77)

3- August - an absolute masterpiece, the best song of loving someone that doesnt feel the same that has ever existed (29)

1- Right where you left me - i spent the entire video thinking "i just hope he does not place my favourite song above 100" then "i hope its at least on top 50"... "wow im really happy its so high, i hope it makes it at least to top 30".. "WHAT, is he really going to place it in top 10" then All to Well came and i was thinking "WHAT? did he forget about right where you left me? there is no way its this high". this song is just a masterpiece in story telling, production, lyrics, structure and my god the mental image that it creates its so terrifying and relatable

Totally agree on Slvt!, False God, I hate it here, happiness, Florida, Daylight, Dear John, Tolerate it, rwylm, WCS, RFI and others. And god, I have seen NO ONE talking about the production differences between the OG atw and the tmv. The tmv is so much softer and honestly if it has the ogs production I might like it more, obviously still ICONIC, but the production is not really it.

It's ok - the original All Too Well will always be my favorite over the 10 min version too. The one line I feel could have been slipped into the original on the last chorus (while keeping the rest the same) that I feel would have elevated it is, "You kept me like a secret, but I kept you like an oath. Sacred prayer, and we'd swear to remember it all too well."
P.s. I'm also sp happy that The Black Dog made it so high on the list. Also one of my favorites!

when I lost my mom I used to listen to that song on repeat. Time passed me by and I was still waiting for her to show up cause I couldn't handle the fact that she is gone forever. That's the magic of Taylor swift. You can interpret the meaning of the songs as you want them to and I don't think you should apologise to anyone for liking or disliking the songs cause they are personal to every single one of us. Totally get these are your opinions, and actually I do agree with most of your bottom tier and your favorites! But, I always thought Dorothea was from the perspective of a female friend, not from a guy. It's much more sympathetic, at least to me, and I know many women who can relate to friends drifting apart, but still remembering them and thinking of them, and not necessarily in a bitter way. That resonates with me. And I love the folksy upbeat but not too upbeat melody and lyrics. It's not one of my favorites, but not one of my last either.

• top 2/3 fav song of all time. The production. The lyrics. The selling of the emotions she felt (the shaky "out of style" at the end is brilliant. The explosive bridge, which i think is one of her best ever. An acual true masterpiece.

• another 1989 song, and happened to be the other best one. The atmospheric production and vocals are incredible. I kinda hate how nobody talks about the MV version. Bc THAT is the version i downloaded and listen to. The drums at that climax are perfection. Bc the first chorus kinda goes seamlessly from pre-chorus to it, then a little beat drop at the 2nd chorus, and then, the 3rd one has not only a beat drop but the full beat until the end. Also the bridge is one of the best ever and the synth-y sounds building for the second half and the end just to go into the breakdown and her low voice and then that climax.... incredible song. Also as someone who does not love TVs as much as the OGs, This one is acually pretty close to the OG. MV or album version.

• it just happened to appear... at #5 on the list just as i started writing this, and i'm so happy it is that high. This is a song i come back to a lot. It has big production and big vocals and that is what i look for a lot of the time. It also has that confidence and power in it overall and i love that i feel like that when i listen to it. And the high notes at the climax i mean c'moonnn. Best song off of her best album.

• yet another 1989 song in Top 5. It is that good of an album. The anxiety part of the song is maybe my favorite thing bc it is all throught the song, especially at the chorus. And i love the repetetiveness of it. I love the bridge. Possibly her best ever and easily one of the best ever, it's fast and it's powerful, vocally, sonically, and emotionally. I also love the little white sound at the beat drop leading into it. And the climax combining the "haaa-ah aahh" as the background vocals is brilliant.

• probably my theme song, my personal anthem. I acually heard this song in full for the first time when i heard folklore in full for the first time, September of last year. Yes, that late, mostly bc i knew i would not love the album and i wanted to wait and when i heard little parts of it, i kinda knew i would love it, and now i do, altho it was not my fav at the first listen (it was #4 the same rating as august at #3 btw) It kinda got here fast, bc i loved the vocals on the verses and the snow-y and slighty psychadelic production so fucking much and that chorus is captivating. Also the bridge is incredible as well. Now that was before i fully understood the lyrics. Lyrics rarely have a big part in my liking of the song but this time, i defenitely ralated. This song can be easily interpreted as the song for ones who give more than they recieve. The ones who give a lot of themselves for ones they love, (,lover, friends, family doesn't matter) but a lot of times don't get that back. This one has a potential for Top 3.

Im sorry I need to talk about seven the song is beautiful in the lyrics but if you listen to what the character said in the story you can see the subtext of the song. With lyrics like " I think your house is haunted your dad is always mad that must be why" you can see the other characters dad is an achoholic and therefore well it seems like the theme is nostalgia the theme is actually nostalgia vs. reality. Show casing how the character looking back on the past see's a better version of what happened as their seeing from their perspective when they were 7.

also in my opinion a lot of the ttpd tracks will age well with time, even just after a few months most songs have grown a lot on me. i wasn't really impressed with waolom at first but now it's one of the tracks that hit the most, especially after getting to see the eras tour performance live which was imo one of the best of the whole night
