Hi Alexander. Yet another great day of variety, two cut pennies and another Allectus. Thank you for the mention, however the credit for what I have learned comes mainly from using the Wildwinds site and also coinproject, numista, forumancientcoins (which has a wide range of detailed information across the whole gamut of aspects of ancient coins and includes the roman coin info section that you highlighted) and the site of the American Numismatic Society. A combination of these (and a few hours of searching) usually helps with accurate identification. Your "Gloria Romanum" (there are ten different reverses), with the Emperor on horse back spearing the enemy, is Magnentius 350-353 AD, proclaimed Emperor by some of the legions in opposition to Constans I (the only Magnentius I have is one of these from Aquileia). The reverse is on the page you were looking at but much further down than where you were. However, that page doesn't include Magnentius in the bust examples displayed. Great to see Tasci and his favourite toy. Looking forward to the next installment.
Thank you very much - relieved you didn't mind the mention! And your knowledge, where ever it comes from, is always welcome so thank you! Hope all well with you down there; It's suddenly getting rather chilly here! All the best, Alexander
@@HolzHammerSagas Spring is beginning to kick in, with more sunshine and less rain in the last week. I'm not looking forward to the extreme heat of summer though. You got a taste of what we get in your summer this year.
More interesting finds again Alexander, well done. It's people like us that are saving our precious heritage for all to see. The many outings we do along with the hundreds of recordings we take (most are good signals but rubbish targets) and the many hours of editing that goes into creating a watchable video is substantial indeed. We do it because we enjoy it so thanks for all your effort. Regards Keith.
Thank you very much Keith - wise words! Hope all well and thank you for watching! All the Best, Alexander
Always a pleasure to watch Alexander, thanks for sharing 😁👍
Not at all Adrian, thank you very much as always for watching and I hope you are okay - all the best
Nice to watch a video made by someone who knows their onions 🙂
Ha! Thanks Jayser!!!!!
Tascy was showing you how to give your enemy a jolly good shaking when you drag him out the cave 😁
Hah, yes!!! Like all terriers, he is so violent with those toys but this one is extraordinary ,he carries it everywhere and I've stopped giving him nice bones and stuff because all it does is bury them... Like a cartoon dog! Hope all well with you Steve and thank you very much as always for watching does have a good weekend!
That was very good timing and fantastic finds once again. 😊
Thank you very much Arthur, much appreciated as always and I hope you have a good weekend! All the best, Alexander
Another great video 👍with some lovely finds 😊
Cheers Peter and thank you very much for watching - Hope all well with you!
Lovely Roman and medieval finds!
Thank you Ruben, much appreciated - Hope all well with you and hope you have a good weekend!
Magnentius is the roman bronze you couldn't remember...wonderful watch again 🙂
Yes thats him Thank you Colin, good knowledge! I always find the portraits of him rather unusual ...nothing like as realistic as his contemporaries… just a slightly odd profile! Hope all well with you and that you have a good weekend! All the Best, Alexander
Alexander thank you for the Roman coin reference website. this will be very useful and save a lot of time!
Not at all Keith hope you find it useful! All the Best, Alexander
Love watching you hunt! Another cracking day! You have the best area to hunt there!
I know Jenny, it is good round here - Thank you very much for watching and I hope you have a good weekend! All the Best, Alexander
My husband stopped his onion harvest until the metal detectorists left the field completely. Health and safety and all that 😂.
Very good of him Jay I'm sure he should have he should have told them all to bugger off! Hope all well!
More nice finds. Thanks for the video.
No problem at all Philip thank you very much as always for watching and hope all well
Heading to England Oct. 1st. Will be hunting in the Norfolk area. Thanks for the motivation!
Brilliant Chuck, I wish you the best of luck! And I look forward to hearing how you get on ... conditions are good here at the moment, All the best, Alexander
Lovely video once again, beautiful finds and soo much history 👌
Thanks Nathan, much appreciated! Hope all well with you!
Great finds Alexander and it looks like a wonderful field for finds as well all the best Claire
It's good fun that field Claire, thank you and nice easy digging so very relaxing all round! Hope all well with you and thank you very much as always for watching! All the best!
Some more lovely finds Alexander. I was thinking if you were to find a few more cut halves and cut quarters you may well be on a Medieval fair site?? A lot more to come out of that onion field for you I reckon.
Thanks again for spending your time editing and cutting to entertain us all👍
Thanks for noticing bodger... I had a bit of time to finish off the video this morning but before I knew it it was 2 o'clock in the afternoon I spent eight hours on it and that was just fine tuning it!!!! But I am definitely getting faster at some of the more routine bits of editing so it won't take me days forever… Thank you very much for watching, as always and I hope you have a good weekend!
Look at all those tractors 😂 Great video as usual Alexander
I think there were about five in all Dom... all doing their own little job! Hope all well with you and thank you very much for watching! All the Best, Alexander,
Well done in maintaining the standard of great finds and video Alexander thank you have a lovely weekend.👍
Thank you Tim, you too - I think it's going to get very wet all over the place this weekend; a nice chance to batten down the hatches and light a fire! All the Best, Alexander

Enjoy your vi's, my detecting days are sadly in the past, at 85 I find it difficult walking to the nearby supermarkt. Your quick research is very interesting, informative and appreciated. Thanks.
I am sorry to hear that Derrick but I trust you had a good time of it when you were out and about! Thank you very much for watching and hope all well and that you have someone to help you get about! All the Best, Alexander
Sorry I'm late in watching Alexander but I've been busy with our business. Always a pleasure to watch your videos with all the lovely finds you get. I wish I had land like yours lol. Anyway until the next one take care.
John please don't feel you have to watch them I feel guilty every time you apologise for "being late"! I don't mind at all and would be very happy if you did something more fun instead and just watch people's latest offerings instead of catching up... must be frightfully tiring! Hope all well!

Nice dig, lovely onion fresh land.
Hah, yes it was very onion fresh! It smelt like a very strong French soup! Hope all well with you Paul and thank you very much for watching - Have a good weekend!
Hey🙋🏻♂️ Alex n Tasci, wonderfully entertaining as always, love the Goldilocks reference btw😂.
With soil like that the coins should be lining up to be found, I can’t remember ( if ever) I’ve seen such easy digging conditions…ah but you are the blessed detectorist for sure😎, catch you on the next, cheers A,G🙏🤗
Hah, I wish I were the Blessed detectorist Garry! I went out today for about four hours having finished editing the video and only found two buttons does but don't worry won't be seeing that video! Hope all well with you and have a great weekend! All the Best, A n T!
Do you not worry about walking so fast as you swing Alexander? Can’t believe what you find as it is. Imagine what you miss! 😃
I do slow down a lot once i have found a good bit! But I soon get bored and I honestly don't think I miss much - certainly not with the swing... perhaps with my gait though!!! Thanks Sam and hope all well - do you use a deus with a fairly high reactivity?
I know what you mean. It’s hard not to walk a little fast sometimes. Even more so if you haven’t found anything. I have to consciously tell myself to slow down sometimes. 👍🏻
shoot i gotta drive up to the school sports fields, sunday morning detector church,, lol,, amazing that you find such old coins, old relics,
Well good luck Paul! Near a church should be good...
Hey Ally , hope you are well I can see you know your Onions ! Lol 😀Lovely hunt on your scenic fields and love the history of your Roman coin ,the portraits on the coins are so interesting and I love going back to H Q and finding out the history & seeing Tasci's fragrant toy ! The little silver was sweet as was the tiny brooch . Blessings xxxShaz
My God, Tasci's fragrant toy is driving me mad he brings it up to my bedroom in the morning - it smells disgusting!!! Do you have dogs Shaz? Hope all well with you two and lots of love, Ally XxX
@@HolzHammerSagas Hi Ally if you read this !!🤣We are without a puppy at the moment I want a Tasci dog but can't find a rough haired Jack Russell if that is what Tasci is ,we have always had terriers so we know what they are like ..something missing without a pup but, I don't want any dog just to fill a yearning...still hoping and praying for 💗💗💗
for our Tasci photo ,it's only been nearly a year since you promised !!! I hope Tasci drops his fragrant toy on your face one morning Ahahha 😅🤣😂 loads love from Shaz & Terry ,stay well xxx

Great video well done Alexander
Thanks Peter! Hope all well!
Hi Alex. 🙂. Well done on your latest finds. I like the little annular brooch. 😀. The soil in that field looks beautiful to detect in. HH from up North. 🙂.
Yes myview, it really is very spoiling that soil you hardly need a spade… and it's best just to take stuff almost of the surface to start with - hope you have a great weekend up North ... i think it's going to be quite wet! All the best, Alexander
@@HolzHammerSagas Hi Alex. I just looked at the weather and it looks sunny for us for Sundays club dig. 🙂. Funny enough we going back to the same field we did last Sunday because there was a few Roman bronze coins found and generally speaking we don't find that much Roman material up here even though Hadrians wall is only about 50ish 😀 miles away. HH. 🙂.
One must wonder with all the Roman era artifacts found in England by metal detectors, what the haul is in Italy by detecting... ancient Greek coins must be all the rage! I must look into any Italian metal detecting channels on YT. Happy hunting!
I think they do find a lot Dean and I think the most are often found in North Africa, I think they come across hoardes of them in the desers there...so what might be a rare coin to be found in the British Isles might be extremely common in southern Europe. Anyway, thank you very much for watching and hope all well! All the Best, Alexander
A great variety of finds well done 👍🙂
Thank you very much Jesse much appreciated I'll get you the link of that glass now sorry it's been so late...

Alexander, what a delightful little pen annular brooch, just stunning. Do you have any understanding on how they plated those? Best of luck sir. BTW, your quick trips to Alexander's HQ are most helpful. Tasci is just adorable, give him a scratch for me.
Course I will Christian! I have no idea had a gilded those tiny little things it is so delicate you could break it by looking at it! I'm very glad you like the HQ bits by the way as I really like doing them so thank you and I hope you have a great weekend! All the best, Alexander
That small piece of scrap bronze you found reminds me of a small sight I have, all that comes off it is little pieces of bronze , some are just like fibula that have never been finished, but maybe I am seeing things, anyway another good video.
I definitely think that little pieces of bronze are a brilliant sign John; only good can come from it! Thank you very much for watching and hope all well! All the Best, Alexander
Nice variety of things this time. Hmmm...Onions, Carrots, Potatoes....You could gleen a nice fall soup from those fields.

That really was rather a lovely thing wasn't it Robert? I didn't really give it that much thought out in the field it was only when I got it home and cleaned up ...it's got a lot more gilding then the photograph shows as well... anyway hope all well with you and thanks for watching!
Emperor Valen was defeated and killed by the Goths, the beginning of the end for the Romans.Remarkable that a coin of an Eastern Roman Emperor is to be found in a UK field over 16 hundred years later.Great finds once again and superb history and editing, cheers.
Good knowledge Zingling thank you... And I know, I think about that a lot; how far coins can travel… I would love to find a Byzantine one here one day or a Greek one for that matter… You never know! Hope all well and all the best, Alexander

Hi Alexander, what online resource did you use to ID the Roman coins, it looks very useful, cheers
Hi Steve - I said in the video i would put the link in the description! 😅Hope all well! P.S it is particularly good for these 4thC ones...
Thanks again for taking time out to mess with cameras, I'm sure it must try your patience at times. I couldn't help noticing how nice and 'waxy' that roman looked after you cleaned it. What are you rubbing into the coins Alex?
That coin needed a really good clean Colin I let it rest in some rain water for quite a long time then added a little bit of wax which just made it slightly white and pasty so tooth picked it a lot and then rubbed it a lot with my thumb and finger - I have run out at the moment but Graham from the Composite Cleaning Pen Company does something called "preserve wax "which is brilliant - I think it's better than renaissance wax which everyone uses and which made that coin rather less good, tell him I sent you! All the best, Alexander
@@HolzHammerSagas Yes the renaissance wax is dull compared to your coin using preserve wax. I will send for some and mention you. Thanx Alex.
@@colinsmale8146 thanks Colin! Can you ask them to send me some too .... and the magic potion they sell... the liquid cleaner - thats brilliant too

Great content very entertaining and your finding genuine history in abundance! But dear fellow chuck that silly globe from your office in the bin! The globe is probably the most chintzy awful thing to display.
Charles, I'm an antiques dealer that is an extremely, extremely nice early 20th century globe it's not chintzy at all its actually quite valuable.... When they are small like that with all the countries still in their colonial names you know you've got a good one.... Anyway, thank you very much for watching and hope all well! Though I've just had a quick look at your channel and it seems you are new stranger to the auction world either!
@@HolzHammerSagas well we have more in common Alexander I too am a little bit obsessed with antiques and objects up here in North Yorkshire near Tennants! Theres more to the globe than what you understand and if you only knew you would immediately have destroyed it!
