Your finds, descriptions and enthusiasm are contagious. Gripping stuff! The teleportation is inspired. Fantastic work! Thank you so much, S & P
Not at all S and P ! Thank you very much for watching and good luck with your detecting journey - let me know how you are getting on!!! All the Best, Alexander

Evening Alexander! Aka #MrTimeMachine😊
Ali thank you for Friday everyone had a great day out, perfect conditions hope the doors sorted. . Just keep it coming really enjoy the history back at hq on the finds as I learn about the article, our old land just keeps giving then I go and read up on that emperor or Saxon era.
Learn lots.
Keep well
Mark
Hi Mark and I am glad you all enjoyed it - I did particularly too - it makes my job even easier when it goes like that! And thanks for watching its much appreciated! See you next year if not before... I would love to do a flight wiuth you and Phil one day... 😁

Hi Alex, great selection finds, amazing bird brooch and Nero coin,I'm just waiting for the weather to warm up a bit, can't stand the cold..cheers Kev..👍
Cheers Kev, I don't mind the cold if I am dressed correctly its the wet that gets me! Hope all well!!!!
Thank you so much, it was a lovely video, and such wonderful treasures you found.
Thanks Nolarino! 🙏😁 Hope all well!
Wow! Really amazing finds especially the roman coin. Great weather there too!
Thanks Belinda! Its got very cold again sudenly but at least the water has gone down! Hope all well
Great entertainment Alex. Many thanks for all your hard work. I look forward to all your videos. Really enjoyable.
Thank you very much Victor - much appreciated as always and hope all well with you - and nice to hear from you!
Yes all good here Ally
Unique finds! How strange that it is so green there. It is green here also, but that changes in the middle of the night. Strangely, usually by my birthday, the first week of January, we have had a cold spell. This time it's so much later. I look forward to your classes and you learning more about your machine. Give Tasci rubs behind the ears for me.
Course I will Cyndye! Getting very cold here...... Hope all well all the same!
glad the weather is playing nice and another well done outing and video. take care
Thanks BC - its ok at the moment... a bit cold again!
Great finds this week !🙂
Thanks Victoria - hope all well!
Oooo, I love old horseshoes! I think yours is what's called a guildhall horseshoe. Specifically a Clark type 4. There's an article about them on the portable antiquity scheme. And according to them: "These date from the 14th century onwards, continuing into the 16th century."
I didnt realise how much I liked them Micah! Mind you I have been collecting them from the arable fields round here since I was a child... And thanks for the knowledge; much appreciated and hope all well! All the Best, Alexander
What a coin, sestertius of infamous Nero-WOW! Can't believe you find so many goodies in the fields. Glad the weather turned nice for detecting. Cheers from loyal fan from Florida
Thanks Michele and hope all well over there!
Very nice finds Alex, and congrats on the nice big sestertius! Envious of your mild weather as we're locked down frozen here in Vermont. -John
Is that right BTV, its got very cold here too but nothing like what you get... hope it thaws out soon for you
Always enjoy. Winter Storm here in Tennessee. - 1 degree below Zero Fahrenheit tomorrow.😮May not be out detecting. Lol
Thanks Terrry! Hope all good over there despite of the weather!!!! 😁
What an amazing day you had. Very envious as I am still trying to get a permission, not so easy living in the Liverpool city centre. I do have access to a few beaches which is something. Really love you presenting style.
I have a mate who does the beaches on the north east coast of Wales very successfully but good luck with a permission - keep at it!
Great video again. Very informative. Looking forward to the next one. Gray.
Thanks Gray, much appreciated and hope all well with you! All the Best, Alexander
Hey Alex, loved that bird, tail looked a bit like a peacock but not the head/front, another cracking find - whatever it is!
Thanks TC and nice to hear from you! Hope all well!
Cracking Nero coin Alexander, will be nice to see how that cleans up once you’ve done it.
Doris seems to be working well for you on that pasture.
Keep up the good work 👍
I will try Darren and hope all well!
Lovely finds Alex great video
Thanks Calvin and hope all well with you!
Another stunning adventure in the good old English fields. I watch every episode you put out, sometimes even watching them a second time. Thank you Alexander.
Thats very good of you thank you Conrad! 😁🙏 and hope all well!
Cheers Alex!!! Congrats ❤❤ love your dibda
Bob I cant think what you mean??? 😁
Great finds.
Cheers Paul!
Unlike horses, oxen (bovine) have cloven hooves and I believe an ox shoe is made in two parts attached either side of the cleft, rather than the semicircular horseshoe.
I think I knew that (once!) about the two parts Robert - excellent knowledge and thank you! All the Best, Alexander
That ducky like brooch is fantastic! Well done!
Thanks Jayne and hope all well!!!
Busy painting kangaroos Island and Flinders Ranges art pieces
Good stuff! x

More great finds!! Thank You. Great Lancaster Bomber line. Unfortunately most in America won't understand. Worse? Most young people in England, Will they? But I thought it was good.
Ha! Thanks Catman! Hope all well!
Hey Al....That horseshoe looks 16-17th century, Spanish reminiscent of the kind found through Mexico into the United States from Coronado, etc., conquistadore style. ✌️
Is that right Richard? Thank you - it really is very small though - presumably horses ( and people) were smaller them days? Hope alll well!
Always a joy to watch your videos, thankyou. The brooch minus the pin and the "pyramidal" mount are both 14thC.I think also as are the two buckles with their integral plates.
Thanks Edward, and thanks for the knowledge! Hope all well!
good morning Alex, perfect way to start Sunday morning another informative film certainly spurs me on to go out on the hunt ,I have taken onboard going over the quieter areas of my permission then concentrate on the more promising parts ! always enjoy watching keep sup the good work all the best Keith
Thank you very much Keith! The other day i did 4 hours on a section of field i knew to be quiet I hardly found anything but at least it confirmed it and i wont tend to go there now unless a last resort! And there is always the chance however quiet it is; the good areas arent going anywhere! Good luck and All the Best, Alexander
Let’s go let’s go treasure and adventure 🌺🌎✌️💕🎉👵🇺🇸
Thanks Grandma K!
Hi Alex, what a beautiful Roman coin! Here I have yet to find my first readable one! Nice video and I'm curious about your mystery guest!
You will find one Benny keep at it! Hope all well
Damn, gg on the early Roman
Thanks Alprini!
One of these days one of those big targets will be a pot of golden coins. Great hunt
Can you imagine Don!!!!!!!!!!! You will be the first to know!!!!!! 😁 Hope all well!
Another fine vid Alex. The small bird brooch is tres cool. I hope you'll let us know how the extra large annular brooch cleaned up. That thing is huge. Anyways, thanks again, & looking forward to the next.
It is tres cool , n'est pas Francine??!! 😁 Hope all well!
Oh oh some nice finds that to the no1 deus 11.. keep them video young man
From sunny Cornwall 😊
Glad its sunny down there Tim and nice to hear from you!
Hope all well!
Great video Alexander.
The bird brooch does have a Roman look to it.
Love those buckles with the plate attached, I like finding those.
Thanks Gary - I think its always a bit special when the plate is still intact... hope all well!
Thanks mate you just cost me £450 as I just bought a Deus 1 with spare coil and headphones. Wish me luck
Cheap!!!!! Good luck with it!
fantastic as always.
Thanks aaargh13! Much appreciated!
A unique hunt today. Unique finds, brooches, coins, etc. This field is bountiful to say the least. Great to see you again, Alex. Enjoy the week ahead, and see you on the next! 🇬🇧👍🙂🇺🇸
Thanks Martin and hope all well with you too! 😁
Hi Alex. Cool finds. I loved seeing that great thick stonking Roman coin and its thinner cousin. Wow - so interesting to see history come alive!
It seems you have access to an old Star Trek 'beam me up, Scotty' machine too, straight to headquarters where the research tools reside. Way cool hobby - thanks for sharing your enthusiasm!
Not at all JT I am glad you liked the film and the teleportation !!!! Hope all well and All the Best!
Hi Alex,I noticed that you don't have a tool to clean off the excess dirt. If you contact John, The Scottish Detectorist, he has a tool that you would find very helpful. Neville, New Zealand.
Thanks very much for that Neville - i try not to carry brushes and spritzers etc there is just too much to think about already; John is an excellent CZcamsr with an amazing following but he doesn't lug round tripods and three cameras and sound boxes etc.... but he's much more successful than me so maybe i should ditch the equipment and bring cleaning stuff instead.... I quite like waiting til I get back to clean things too... more exciting to think what I ight have in my pockets - hope all well and All the Best, Alexander
Interesting vblog 🎉 I started metal detecting in 1979 with a Whites 6000D GEB. Ive found silver coins. Gold rings but never found a gold coin 😢😢😢
You will Sooty and as you know it will be when you least expect it!
Always see you find such great treasures of the past,Tennessee is cold and dead ,seeing the green pastures and sunny sky's quite nice and I hope your year is golden and silver too mixed with so much history!
Its got very cold here James and a lot of the country has seen some fairly serious floods.... What is the world coming too i worry... Hope all well and thanks for watching!
Great video👍
Thanks Suzanne and hope all well! All the Best, Alexander
You crack me up mate. Tell us about the.lesson and I quote "Mystery Guest"
Then say her.name 😆 🤣
Looking forward to learning from her though. Hope microphones be working. 😊
She's on tonight!!! 😁
@HolzHammerSagas watching now. Cheers.
Lovely zoomorphic brooch
Thanks Graham! Hope all well with you!
Very neat animal broach. The Nero roman was cool.
Going to be nasty cold here this week....with snow too!!
Single digit temps with wind!!!
Hope you are well!!!
Holler back!!
Hi Tim - did you get my email? Hope all well!
@@HolzHammerSagas no I didn't

Great as always. Always look foward to your videos. Can only watch. Frozen here in Ohio (24 degrees here today). Hard to detect in that. As far as the somewhat large "iron broach"... should clean and exam end of pin to see if there is a bend (possible loop) or possible break. If I would find that here (just based on what I could see in video) it looks like 1/2 of a two part snaffle bit.
I think thats what it is, or a hoop with the iron bit for securing it to a wall or a post...? Hope all well Douglas, cold here but not like with you! Good luck and All the Best, Alexander
Cracking finds, well-filmed as ever, Alex. Lovely horseshoe and you mentioned ox shoes, but being cloven-hoofed ox shoes were always a pair for each hoof. Let me know if you want any custom sound effect(s) for your "back to HQ" "poof! "shot by the way 👍
I completely forgot to add the sound effects for that - but if you could come up with a more suitable "woosh" that would be great! Thanks John and hope all well - I missed the DH spat last night could you send me the unabridged transcript??!! 😁
@@HolzHammerSagas 🤣🤣🤣 Because of its rarity I'm selling it on ebay 😁 I'll have a noodle and see what I can come up with.
thanks
Thank YOU Mr.E!
The little bird brooch is amazing Alexander. Thanks again for another fantastic video 👌.
Thanks Roly and thanks for watching!
Great finds and weather there, Alexander. Thanks as always for the excellent videos - already chomping at the bit for the next one! 👍
Ha! Thanks Chops!!!!! Hope all well!
Hi Alex, another nice vid thank you. A couple of observations; that bird.... it's the tail that is bugging me. I can see why some folk are going towards peacock but it's not is it, it's much more turkey-like surely which makes it even more enigmatic! (Sorry about that, wish I had a better answer.) The shoe? It can't be an oxen shoe because they are cloven-hoofed so I am going horseshoe but it sure looks really old, maybe Saxon?
Thanks Colin and hope all well with you - you are right about the horseshoe I hadn't appreciated the cloven hoof aspect!
Lovely finds as always Alexander really appreciate what you do👏👏👏👏
Thanks Rob - very kind of you!
Wow! A wonderful bird ornament. Congratulations. Thank you for the video. I'm already eagerly waiting for the next video. Many years ago, I found a bird ornament from the Viking era, which had tinkling bells on the bottom edge.
Really Anno? How amazing!!!!!! Hope all well and All the Best, Alexander
]
Another entertaining vid. Would Like to know more about what you found out about the horseshoe
Ill keep you posted Bama, but people have been informing me it could be 14th - 16thC which is brilliant! Hope all well!
Lovely video as always Alex. Congrats on the coin, wonderful. Glad your sorting Dorris out. Cheers, looking forward to the next one. Cheers.
Cheers to you too Nick - hope all well!
@HolzHammerSagas medievil horse shoe I believe. Not oxen as they were much thinner. Just my opinion. Cheers Alex
Thanks Nick@@Nicknofish
Looks like a Guildhall shoe mate medieval to Tudor
Good Knowledge Mark thank you! And I promise you I haven’t forgotten about that coin I am so so sorry not to have sent it already- everytime I think of getting round to it something else pops up and it skips my mind but I will deal with it I promise
@@HolzHammerSagas no worries buddy I know you won’t forget❤️ life gets in the way sometimes😊
I don't know how you get such amazing permission all of mine are full of Georgian pennies and horse buckles 😅 another amazing upload
I have Georgian penny ones too Diane; I always tell myself there is a chance of finding a nice sovereign in land like that though and it has happened!!!!! In a rubbish field with nothing but toasted Georgian coins and then one day... and about 4 years on the same field... it doies happen 🤞😁
jippi 🍀🍀🍀
Thanks Stephan! 😁
Another great video. Always learning from you so thanks again. Now that you have the Deus 2 does that mean you will send me the old one? Please, thanks, cheers 😂.
Ha! I need a reserve and i will def use it on cultivated land for old times!!! 😁
Thank you Alexander, had a rubbish day and your video has really cheered me up.
Looking at your horse shoe ,I think it’s a pony shoe possibly for working on soft ground possibly late or post medieval.
Good knowledge Jonny and sorry you had a crappy day! Hope all well now though!
Great video again Alex some really interesting finds again . I often wonder how they cut hammered coins so neatly and what did they use to cut them .
I have too I think they were serious scissors Len - say that after a few!!! Hope all well
Alexander brilliant finds love them all, I think maybe the one with the big ring is a bit for a horse well that’s what it looks like what do you think Ally from Claire 🐻
Hi Claire and nice to hear from you! I think you may well be right about the ring!!! Hope all well! x
Hey, great stuff as ever Alex, and loving that bird pendant... On the 'dreaded sound': Don't wanna frazzle your brain, but I've never really understood why you *need* a speaker mate? I don't exactly know your sound setup but, if I'm guessing right - you could do all this with 1 or 2 extra cables plus 1 or 2 adapters, (all cheap stuff too!) And your Deus audio would be *Perfect* Anyways, let me know if you're interested... Ttfn, Bobby 🐭
Bobby the ONLY reason I need a speaker is so YOU can hear it.... not me 😂😂 it does sound easy but isn't - if you could spend five minutes researching a decent, small speaker with a 3.5mm input for the cable between the puck and speaker I would be indebted to you for life!
@@HolzHammerSagas Aha! - but yes Alex, I'm aware that's what the speaker is for... What I'm saying is, I think there's a better way than using a speaker - basically, just using a couple of cheap leads + adapters - you should be able to get 2 channels of sound into your recorder unit. 1 channel will be your mic./speech, and the other channel will be a 'direct/clean feed' of your machine's audio. Does that make sense?... I'm happy to guide you thru it matey - but we'd have to switch to emais again I fink... Anyways, up to you Alex but, if it works, your audio should improve, plus your 'Quest' for the perfect speaker may be at an end... 😵💫 😅 B 🐻❄
Ps. I'll try and do you a diagram, to make it as 'pain-free' as possible... 😁
Αmazing finds 😮
Thanks Γιαννης much appreciated and hope all well! All the Best, Alexander
@@HolzHammerSagas να είσαι καλά
Hi Alex, can you put up your Deus II settings and thoughts on what you set and why. My Deus II is collecting dust because I found it a bit tiresome to use. I ended up using gold mode which worked quite well on pasture but did not get to finding suitable settings for me for ploughed soil 👍
I dont dare put up my real thoughts on this machine OP, I almost broke my channel last time I did i lost a load of subscribers and the nect thre videos hardly got any views... I thought an honest opinion for 5 minutes might have gone down well esp. as I never usually do that sort of thing so thought it might carry some weight... so i wont for the time being I'm afraid as I prob wont say what people want me to and as annoying as that is I dont want my channel to go backwards again!!!! Hope all well !
@@HolzHammerSagas I suspect most viewers don’t care about the machine, they just want to see the process of finding ancient artefacts and the history! 👍
I’ve watched all your fantastic videos. I’m using the Deus one (I need VDI,s.) I’m using the Hot programme upped sensitivity to 92 and audio response to hear deeper targets. Any advice on my settings would be greatfully received. Keep up the great work.
I kept it very simple and just got used to it Steve - you don't need VDIs if you use full tones as the tone will give you the number... the most useful tip I can give is lower the reactivity on the Hot programme to 2.5 but no lower - I found that made a huge difference andf good luck!
You are a “lucky man” to find your way through England’s/ your home’s past. Thanks for another great presentation 😊
@@HolzHammerSagasthank you very much. Keep up the brilliant work. So interesting and informative
annular brooch? me thinks of a horse's snaffle bit?
Yes - could be ... or I thought perhaps a hoop the iron bit to attach it to a wall or a post of sorts....
So how are you feeling about the d2 ? Its certainly finding the goods 💯
Getting there... I have just turned it all "down" and will keep it that way til I get used to it!!!!! Hope all well with you!

Hi Alex. On one of your videos you said you have another channel. Could you please put a link on here for me please. Regards Gray.
Hi Gray … it’s called Holzhammer LITE and hopefully does what it says on the tin! Hope all well!
@13 minutes, looks like a hat pin for a lady. Because it has two halves put together, would speculate that more likely industrial age, 1700-1800's. Peace
Good Knowledge Rhett I shall investigate! Hope all well and peace to you too! Hope all well!
You are just killing me by not having a soft brush to clean up your finds. Shall I send you one or could you pop off to a shop to buy one? You have the most FABULOUS finds, but we can't see them clearly. Darling please do this.
Terry its a slippery slope, you will be wanting me to carry girly spritzers, "coin pods" and a trowel next.... 😁 I actually refer to your comment in my video which I hope will be out tomorrow evening but couldn't remember who it was from - sorry! Hope all well and All the Best, Alexander
Maybe it's not a coin but a medal. One sided medal.
Could be Roberto.... thank you and hope all well!
