Bro, you're living the dream. You go thrifting in Japan as part of your job. I'm really happy for you!
Bro thank you thank you thank you!! I sometimes have to sit back and realize how crazy that is
regarding the granddad shirt: it’s a pretty common style in asia, uniqlo calls it stand collar shirts. in the philippine context it kinda looks like the barong tagalog and the camisa de chino. the barong tagalog isn’t tucked in and are typically worn on formal occasions such as graduation ceremonies. my university requires men to wear barong tagalog along with our sablay which is our academic regalia instead of a toga. the camisa de chino (literally shirt of chinese) is usually worn casually from what i’ve seen.
The "no influencers allowed" sign at Kapital @14:30 😂😂
Drew! Been watching your videos on shoes/footwear recently and noticed that your socks collection is pretty neat, would love to see a fun little video on them!!
I would be more than happy to do a video on socks!! Adding it to my idea list now
@@DrewJoineryeah bro! My sock game doesn’t go beyond whatever cool designs I find at vans & different colored Nike ones, I need help & im so happy to have found your GREAT channel recently! 🤙🏼
Just got back from Tokyo- we go every year.
The shopping is overwhelming, a sensory overload- having a plan is a good idea.
i missed all 6 Kapital shops! Need to go back ASAP
Garms is now officially out there in the wild
shimokitazawa is such a vibe bro, probably one of my favorite area in tokyo
Doing shopping research before going is definitely a good idea. I was overwhelmed with little time! I also had more fun outside of Tokyo than in the city
this is such a comforting vlog, really makes me miss japan and going into every single vintage/thrift 😌😌
Just want you to know I appreciate every videos ❤ still think you're so underrated creator and will blow up soon . Its hard to find creators making fashion videos who is really interested and HAVING FUN doing it. Can feel the love you have for it. So keep going 💪
❤️fr means so much
Thrifting in Japan is one of the greatest experiences. Love your content, I can’t wait to visit Japan again.
this was sooo fun to watch!! i loved it 😊😊
from vintage shopping videos in some weird guys shop in the Denvers Golden triangle, to Ginza Tokyo videos, Drew my friend you are absolutely killing the game every step of the way.🤙🤙🤙
bro, looks like u really enjoyed my country, japan!! im in vancouver now so miss my country tho
Your country was legit man!
I enjoyed this! 🔥🔥
Love these videos!!!
this makes me even more hyped for my trip to japan in October, great vibes!
Aaah what an amazing experience to visit Japan. Even cooler to see it through your lense!
one of your best videos!
Made me miss my trip to Japan. Great video Drew.
I saw you in Omotesando when you were in Japan! I was too nervous to talk to you, couldn’t say hey to you😢😢 But I'm glad you enjoyed Japan🇯🇵
Nooooo way, should have said what it do
Drew ur like the swaggiest former d1 bball fashion dude I’ve seen
gang this is mad love
dude seeing you so happy in Japan was so nice!! loved this ❤
Goat content, arigatogozimashita Drew ❤
The long awaited vlog is finally out , love the video 😌
we finally made it fam, we finally made it
Shimokita was top 3 places in tokyo for me when i went last year
So cool! 🔥
Next time u're in Japan, u should go queue up for goro's, it's gonna take a couple of hours but it's a pilgrimage, remember to bring cash though, lot's of it
I feel those "Until next Time ..."-Graphics. I felt the urge to mentally say this to all places in Japan, just to have it known, that I will come back. I did come back and said it again, haha.
Loving your content! Ragla Magla was my favorite store that I visited in Shimolitazawa. Didn’t get any clothes from there but I definitely got a native style silver cuff. I’ll definitely make time to go to a Beams+ store next time I’m in Japan, but overall the shopping experience there is amazing, and you’ll definitely need a limit for the amount of stuff you buy 😂.
Drew i loVE the thumbnail. Keep up the good work!
日本のファンです!
下北沢、渋谷、原宿は良いvintage shop が多いですので、嬉しい選択です。
渋谷と原宿は素晴らしいです!
Bro I was just there like 3 months ago staying in Ginza! Thanks for helping me reminisce my recent trip to Tokyo 🫡
let's both go back soon bro
I don't tuck my grandad collar shirts. Beams flagship in Shinjuku is an awesome store. Ragtag, Kindal and Kinji stores are decent. You could go a month or two in Tokyo and not get through the vintage stores - it's pretty crazy.
I stood in that exact place in the Evisu Tokyo store and bought the best pair of jeans I've ever owned. Loved the video
definitely tucked in! the granddad shirt
Hopefully get to go to japan in the end of the year cant wait to shop around and watch a bunch of wrestling
me encantan tus videos!
Muchas Gracias !!!
With the grandad shirt, they were the thing in Edwardian fashion, being tucked into very high waisted trousers held up by braces, and they were collarless because you would attach starched collars via a pin on the back and the button on the front. Very fiddly by today's standard. You can see old European grandad shirts are quite long to tuck in, there's some vintage fashion tiktokers who show off Edwardian outfits styling these shirts
#pvv I'm actually going to Shibuya this summer with my family! So I'm super excited to try out the food, planning to buy onitsuka tigers, and honestly just to explore. Your tips of planning out what stores to visit is definitely helpful since I tend to get overwhelmed and easily get distracted looking at stuff
Stay hydrated it’s gets stupid hot and humid! Might wanna bring a pocket size towel when drying yourself from the sweat:)
@@Gojopeak thanks for the advice! I’ve heard how humid it gets, so I’ll definitely pack small towel
Stumbled across your channel last night while doing some Japanese Selvedge denim youtube research because I’m actually headed to Asia tomorrow (#pvv)! Really serendipitous that you’re releasing all this Japan content now for me to soak up! Keep up the quality content, subscribed ✅.
Love it man!! Enjoy Asia! Hopefully a video about Kojima (Birthplace of denim soon!!)
Thrifting in Tokyo is a dream of mine
fun vid!!!
Fire intro cuz!
I watching you from México and i love your videos ❤️🔥
Should I visit Mexico next?? maybe you show me what's what lol I appreciate you tuning in fr
Shimakirizawa vibesss
PVV I'm most excited visiting out of the city of Phoenix, AZ and heading either north to the mountains of colorado or west to the beach. Phoenix is super hot so you can't really spend too much outside.
Really enjoying your channel! Is the Monk thrift store related to the Monk chain in NYC? I've shopped/donated clothes at one in the East Village. The next time you go to Tokyo, I've hard that Koenji is great for thrifting.
Hey man awesome vid what type of camera and lens do u use for the vid?
the grandadshirt is nice bro, I would tuck in the shirt for a formal thing
日本に来てくれてありがとう😭
日本は素晴らしかったです!また訪れるのが待ちきれません
Totally tuck them in.
Amazing. What's the leather strap Yankees hat again? Where did ya pick it up? ❤
#PPV I'm most excited visiting new york this summer!!! Will be my second time there. Love the city.
These to me are curated vintage shops (with not so cheap prices) rather than true un-curated thrift shops. Props to curated shops though.
really good video g
Big Big thank you man
Grandad collar shirts in heavy cotton with stripes as usually workers shirts, so mills, manual labour etc, you’d have one shirt and you’d just swap out the collar for occasion and to keep the shirt “clean” the upper class would of have more bespoke of a wardrobe with finer shirts of higher quality
Leessss goooo hass finally
yeassss, hope you liked it
Just went to a lot of the same places as well on my trip in Japan. Kapital stores are sick (and much much cheaper than anybody who sells kapital in the US)
I needed some socks when I was in Japan. I wear a 12. We went to a store that only sold socks. He looked at my feet and said "oh no!!!" 😂
He took me to a back corner of the shop where they had one small rack for people with freakishly large feet. 😂😂😂
😂😂
Why is Drew locking more attractive every new videos
damn 272k subs? crazy to see how far you've come
You've been with me for a minute too Jake
@@DrewJoiner yessir
Tokyo is awesome! I miss it
Hey Drew, I’ve got a good idea for an upcoming video - what do you think of discussing the meaning of luxury nowadays as I think the meaning of this word changed a lot since Covid
he's done like 4 videos on something synonymous with this
Yup! Added to the list
@@DrewJoiner cool for reference you can use the podcast from business of fashion with pharell Williams he has some cool things to say at the topic
#pvv Im super excited to go to spain this summer with my friends. Its gonna be so cool man!!
What have u done with the pins? Back in NYC? Enjoy ur video nd I ve subscribed to your channel, exciting nd well done 🙏👍
I put them all over collars and hats that I already own!
How can I search for that vintage New York cap? Does it have a specific name?😅
Where is that sando place?
Do you have any stores that I can order from that ship to the us New Jersey to be specific
+1 on having a list of brands or stores you want to visit. Personally I found the Beams+ stores a waste of time in that they're just boring department shopping stores lacking a unique experience compared to places like Kapital.
You're not wrong lol
Sunday is the start of a new week and what a way to start it with a Drew joiner video #pvvgang
The goat comment I always love to see
@@DrewJoinermy goat too
You pronounced Shinokitawa 19 different ways, and it's hilarious 😅glad you had fun, tho
Btw, do you have the address for the bag store in Kamakura?
Per chance, could u drop the location for the leather goods store? I'd be interested to check it out!
This is the address: 2 Chome-1-7 Hase, Kamakura, Kanagawa 248-0016, Japan
@@DrewJoiner thank u so much!
For other ppl checking this comment, the address Drew gave is correct, when u go to google maps try to zoom out a bit. U can see in the video the store front, which says the name is "With". So that's the precise location, it should be the correct listing with Drew giving a 5 star review.
hi drew! was it easy to transport around japan with just english? like taking ubers and trains etc/ google maps (im thinking of solo traveling but dont know any japanese)
There are no ubers in Japan! it's a huge thing. BUT, yes using trains and taxis was pretty easy. Worse case just use a translation app
レッツゴーーーーー
!!!!!🇯🇵
shimokitazawaまで言わなくても「shimokita」で充分通じますよ😂
Hey man, what hat are you wearing here? Looks good!
ebbets field flannels brooklyn eagles hat
Ugh…this is making me sad 😭 I was in heaven in Shimokitazawa!
IT IS HEAVEN
#PVV bro i am so excited for my trip to Italy 🇮🇹
Italy looks amazing! I am so jealous of you
What’s the name of the kamakura leather shop?
it's called with yuigahara (address: 2 Chome-1-7 Hase, Kamakura, Kanagawa 248-0016, Japan)
Where’s your baseball cap from?
ebbets field flannels brooklyn eagles hat
tuck it dawg
to get to the other side of the world just to shop... what have we come too
Damn bro where is the jacket from?
orslow x canoe club french chore coat
All dat kislux bags sssssoooooooo gorgeous
That level of censorship needed for that kapital. lol.
I picked up a lot there but also legs down the street. They had a lot of great stuff in stock there.
Nice!! Im adding it to my map for next time
Luv the vid so far, but there is a spelling error in the thumpnail
Good eye!! updating now
Life saving comment right here 🫡
@@DrewJoiner 😂
I checked out some "thrift shops" when I was over there, everything was ridiculously overpriced tho. We're talking hundreds of $'s for what is really someone's old shirt.
Ig there must be some actual real thrift stores somewhere, I couldn't find em tho
Vintage style is trendy in japan recently and japan has been fallen into stagflation for a long time.
It's hard to find " real thrift shop".
@@jigokunomaeda あー 思った通りだね😭 返信してくれてありがと!
NO TUCK IN....DESIGNED TO BE OUT OVER YOUR PANT.
