    Love this song leaving of Liverpool , we had this played on the bagpipes at my daddy's graveside 11 October 2018 ,

      John Sheahan and Paddy Moloney both. Paddy is actually a year older than John. They were school mates in Dublin growing up.

    Star quality bought tears to eyes. My mother was Irish so can feel affinity with beautiful tune played so well Shame Nigel Farage can't debate without being rude.

    Love the key change at 2:30. Interesting that it modulates down a step, rather than up as is more common. At 2:31-2:35, is Moya Brennan adjusting the harp strings to play in the new key?

    Have the Irish got into the ugly habit of clapping to songs? Clapping to the "Leaving of Liverpool" is something I would only expect from an American audience not too versed in the difference between the meaning of words and the beat of of the music accompanying the song.

      Yes unfortunately. Russell Crowe on the Late Late one night stopped his tune and said "if you're going to clap at least do it in time". That put a halt to the happy clappers!!
