  • EA is hyping up the next Battlefield game as "another tremendous live service"

The charm of Battlefield was always feeling like the unamed soldier on the front, the immersion of what it would feel like to be a random soldier in these large scale battles. The moment you add 'characters' to these settings, it tarnishes this immersion by removing your ability to project yourself into the battle; instead you are this character in the battle and cognitively are forced into that roleplay instead of one of your own making.

One of the biggest issues with Battlefield 2042 is that it wants to be like Call of Duty. Fast phase, wacky skins, One man army type of thing.
What made Battlefield 3 and 4 so great was the teamwork, instead of running and gunning I went in as a 2nd player in a tank, repairing if needed. etc.
