One of the hardest things about English is knowing when to use the PRESENT PERFECT (I have done/I have been doing) vs when to use the PAST (I did).
The problem is many teachers try to explain it as just one rule, however there are actually 7 different times we use the present perfect. In this video we look at the first use! Thank you for the feedback, Martina! The problem is present perfect doesn't exist in Czech, you would just use the present "dnes je moc busy" or the past "Tento týden jsem měl spoustu schůzek" :) This is quite an advanced topic and we tend to not use translations for more advanced topics, but we will bear it in mind for future videos!

Hello Jacob !
Because I am a very beginer I will try to be really short.
I noticed that you do not make the difference between "Present Perfect" and "Present Perfect Continuous" even though they are two distinct times and are explained differently.
For example we can say "I have had breakfast this morning." as an answer to the question "Have you had breakfast this morning?", although there is not a continue or repetitive action.
So, the second condition that you put here, is for PPContinuous. For PPerfect, the condition is that the event has present consequences.
Three other examples (Present Perfect, not Present Perfect Continuous):
I've got a haircut this week.
I've washed the car yesterday and it's still clean.
I have done my homework since Friday.

Hello :) This is why we have a seven video playlist explaining the present perfect, as it’s quite a complicated topic and can’t be explained in just one rule - I recommend you watch all the videos but remember this is quite an advanced topic!: Present Perfect Continuous is explained in video 2/7 and is for positive actions. “I have had breakfast” is explained in video 6/7, for this that happened in the past and still affect now.
