MARLIN FISHING FROM A JETSKI

  • Matt sets out on another 'stunt fishing' mission and heads miles off shore on a jet-ski to try and prove his theory, "you don't need a big boat to catch a marlin".
    The action that follows the hook up is spectacular, and the crazy finale when the fired up marlin gets some of his own back will leave audiences in disbelief -- this one is not to be missed

    I happen to be sitting at home and have a marlin hooked up to my jet ski. Should I try it or heed the warning?

      Stop listening to people that are SCARED... Get a Yamaha VX110. They are bulletproof machines. Last for 1000+hrs with no issues. Why do you think rental companies use them. Can buy them for $2500 or less at most places for a 6-10yr old model. I live in Florida. I see people jet ski fish fairly often. I Own a VX110 and a Spark and fish off them with my wife. It's easy, no big deal, and very maneuverable and fast. And easy on the wallet to own and operate. I bought my 2009 VX110 with near 700hr on it for $600. I've used it over 40hr now, no issue. I've gone 13miles offshore with it before. and back, was over 30miles. Didn't use buy 1/4 tank fuel.

      @locomojo0485 Před 5 lety

      Wow how did you manage that? I play on my skis all the time and go out in large waves in Florida gulf. But never once even got close to flipping my VX110. My little Spark I've flipped twice but that was in a calm canal playing on it doing 360s. Skis are really more difficult to flip than it seams.

    Too all the negative commentators Matt watson. Is the most fish conservation fisherman out there .most New Zealanders are.the point he is demonstrating is you don't need a floating gin palace super taught to catch big gamefish and release them for the next generation of fishermen or fisher women.

    looks like fun...but why release it? you could eat off that for months...and also a lot of marlin and other game fish die or are eaten by sharks after being exhausted from being caught anyways...marlin is very good smoked by the way.

      @@captainggttv3243 you don't understand...many marlin die after a long battle like this, probably more than half. if you care about the species you just don't catch them at all. would you feel cared for if a lion played with you for a few hours and let you go in a plain filled with hyena and other animals when you were nearly dead? it is about the same thing...sharks are already close by, they come from miles when they hear this kind of action.

      there is a good chance he did even if he releases it...that is why i don't agree with catch and release...either eat it or don't put it through a life or death struggle that often leaves it too weak to survive or defend itself.

    • @rhyswerner8749
      @rhyswerner8749 Před 4 lety

      @@BAlvn-yr6ej go do some reading on the tagging of caught fish, look particularly at the research done on large mouth bass and their beds in spawning time when they get caught by a recreational angler and how majorities of large mouth caught from a bed return straight to the bed and continue fanning and just spawning in general. If you're still unsure about fish responding well to catch and realease also look at the very might but very humble Murray cod of Australia (straya) they are a territorial fish and they like to choose a piece of a wood or structure in the waterway they live in, to call home. When Murray cod are caught off these snags as they almost allways do it has been documented in research papers that they will return to "their" snag or their piece of wood/structure/cover. Fish respond really well to catch and release. I've even caught the same fish myself literal minutes apart and still had them take off like a torpedo. Don't be ignorant, don't give catch and release fishing a bad name if anything go after commercial fishing or the foreigner's coming to Australia and disregarding the bag/size limits and thus raping the population of the species.

      @rhyswerner8749 Před 4 lety

      @@BAlvn-yr6ej some fish are more delicate than others, some fish give everything they have when they fight. But If a fish is hooked well IN THE MOUTH and not in the throat then its up to the angler to revive the fish if need be before release. ive even caught fish with a missing eye from being caught and they're still fine, some fish are missing chunks out of their bodies from predators, guess what they're fine. Its nature baby

    Lifelong fisherman here. No respect for the animal fishing this way. Clearly just a stunt for CZcams clicks and revenue. If you like adrenaline, try sky diving. Don't disrespect one of the greatest big game fishing species and aquatic predators on the planet with these stupid stunts. You're lucky you weren't injured. You're even luckier that fish wasn't injured. The fight was much longer than necessary, making it vulnerable to predation afterwards. Your bluefin selfie stick photo is disgusting, too. Nothing "ultimate" about this content.
