      Parts needed for all Stages:
      (Do ensure to make sure your car is in best running condition, before starting your tuning journey. Which would improve numbers and reliability of the car)
      Stage 1:
      (Base form) - parts not required
      (Ideal setup) - performance air filter or infection kit, decat exhaust.
      Stage 2:
      All above from ideal stage 1 setup with the addition of: full exhaust system (w/ either sports cat or decat), MUST have good induction kit.
      Stage 2+:
      All the above from stage 2, with the addition of: upgraded fuel pump, rs4 fuel valve. Intercooler, runner flap delete.
      There are other supporting parts you can also fit, which I have listed in the video too.

    Very good video! No plans to map my ED35 yet (has same engine) but good to know if I decide to there is a shopping list.

      A friend of mine owns an ED35 too, his has a stage1 map on it. Really livens up the car and being a stage1, you really don’t have to do any mods.

      @@WhatThePun it might be something I look into in a year or so. Trying to keep it OEM+ to be honest. Little to none that are standard left.

    How would you say your modified Mk 6 R compares dynamically to say something like a stock GTI Mk 7/7.5 now you've had the mods a while?

      Hello Alan!
      And good question!
      I have been recently been taking care of a Mk7.5 GTI PP.
      Having had a very good experience driving the newer GTI, you had really feel where they made changes and improvements with the MQB platform.
      The first thing that stood out for me was the steering, the MK7 steering definitely feels lighter. I would say, makes the car feel really easy to drive and handle. Almost Gran Turismo like, if that makes sense.
      The car feels bit more composed/refined on the road. Yet not losing that Golf feeling at the wheel.
      It’s hard to compare a stock car to a heavily modded car, as my Mk6 R. I feel like I’ve modded to the point where it’s not too pleasant as a daily now 😅
      I feel like if I had a Mk6 GTI and had the option to upgrade to a MK7.5 GTI, I wouldn’t blink and do it.
      Unless! Maybe it was a Mk6 Ed35 GTI 😂

    Hi, my Mk6 Golf R is quite stock stock (less coilovers, bbk and rims) and I am planning to straight to stage 2 soon. Just wondering would it be better to just go stage 2 + rather than just do up to stage 2? Similar to u, I daily my car and wana ensure that its driveable.

    • @WhatThePun
      @WhatThePun  Před 9 měsíci

      If you still want to dsily your car, would things such as droning from the exhaust and fuel consumption bother you?
      The fuel consumption is noticeably not the best as a daily driver, for the type of start/stop traffic I have to do daily. Just watching the fuel gauge go down in traffic.

    • @WhatThePun
      @WhatThePun  Před 9 měsíci

      In terms of going from stage 2 and 2+
      Stage 2+ would require a bit more work and parts, such as the fuel pump, fuel valve. Intercooler, runner flap delete.
      Whereas a stage 2 setup would need less supporting parts.

    • @SFCX2
      @SFCX2 Před 9 měsíci

      @WhatThePun Yes to a certain extent. I think if I do get a resonated milltek exhaust the droning would be quite manageable. As for fuel consumption wise, i guess its part and parcel of more power = more fuel. Whats ur fuel consumption like in urban traffic?

      @@WhatThePun You're one of the only people I've seen who say the runner flap delete is needed for stage 2+. Most don't say that.

    • @WhatThePun
      @WhatThePun  Před 7 měsíci +1

      @@JustinStrife it’s what I was advised for a stage 2+ setup. And it makes sense if you want to make those refinement that improves different areas, even if it’s a small percentage here and there. It all adds up.
      Especially something like how freely the air is flowing in the car.
